Lord & Taylor asks you to call 1-855-637-9570.  After you download your resume, you receive a note stating:

"(Your name), please call an Employment Specialist to complete your registration process. An Employment Specialist is currently available to receive your call now."

It appears everyone is in the business of selling to people looking for work.  Even the large retailers.

Sad day in America.

I attempted to apply for a position through Addeco and this number was given to call for a phone interview.  I called 2 Addeco offices this morning and neither offices knew anything about this www.gigat.com website or a toll free number where they did job interviews and applications.  Thank you, to the people that posted information about this number - you saved me a lot of time and trouble!  Below is the content of the email that I received:

"Thank you for registering with Gigats. Before we can send you any information about employment opportunities you must follow this link to confirm your email address and that you also wish to receive emails from us. Please either click or copy and paste this link into the address bar of your browser:

http://www.gigats.com/member_confirm.cfm?pid= ... 0219D24331C5F8A

As a member of Gigats you also have easy access to an entire toolbox of websites and applications that you can use to find your next employment opportunity. The Gigats network goes beyond simply helping you find a job, it helps you launch a career."

We look forward to helping you.

I filled out an employment application online for an office assistant at  Corinthian College. I thought this would be a great job because this is exactly what my previous employment was. Next I received an email telling me to call this phone number for an online interview. It said to allow x amount of time and be prepared to answer questions regarding history, school, goals and financial beneits so I researched the number and found out it was a recruiter for financial aid.  If it sounds too good to be true it usually is! I should've gone with my gut instinct to start with. needless to say I didn't call.

Recruit GAAP is a legitimate "virtual" recruiting firm.  This means that everything is done virtually.  We use them in phoenix to help find us employees.  The service you are referring to is not affiliated with Recruit GAAP or AppleOne.  They are some "career network" that evaluates resumes and pushes financial incentives, university enrollment, etc.  Simply email Recruit GAAP and AppleOne and let them know what is going on (from their actual site, not a job board).

Sounds like the same spill I got.  I was given the number after applying for a job through GAAP.  I have a phone interview tomorrow but will be very cautious when giving our my information.  Thanks so much for the info from all of you.  The best of luck to all.

The same thing just happened to me.  I applied for three positions on-line through Recruit GAAP and rec'd 3 emails stating they rec'd my resume.  Then I rec'd an email to call the same number and rec'd pretty much the same spill.  She said she would send me an email and that I had to complete the info for the companies to actually receive my resume.  I have not rec'd an email.  I went to Recruit GAAP's website and of course it looks legit but there is no phone number or address.  It only says they are located in Phonenix, AR.  I called the Better Business Bureau.   They could not find a company on file by that name but also did not have any complaints on them either.  She told me to just be careful.  I would like to know if this companyt is legit or not.
