I keep getting calls and they say nothing but just hang up very tired of getting them, and I am on the do not call list.

It is the Natiional Recovery Association.  They use this as a way to get you on their call list.  If you call their number or even answer their call, they now have the right to violate the do not call, and they will constantly call you.

Receive numerous calls from "toll free", "out of area", "name not available", numbers every day, and I am so tired of this abuse of my phone number.  The latest one was a few minutes ago from 855-638-7579 (5-3-14, 2:25 p.m.).  I don't answer the calls, but my answering machine picks it up.  They never leave a message, just keep changing numbers, as my call block feature is full.

It's the National Rifle Association. I answered and there was no one there. I called back the number and it was a recording saying it was the National Rifle Association. I have no idea why they would be calling me, I'm not a member.

I called the National Rifle Assn - it is not them.  Anyone can use a recorder and record anything message they want.  It is a scam

I continually receive calls from this number.  I am on the do not call list.  These calls must stop.  They are invading my privacy (and my sleep)

This is a law firm that you care calling once a day and hanging up w/o speaking.  You're not doing a good service to your organization.  Either fix your phone dialer, or hire new employees.

I don't know for sure who it is.  This  number just called me.  I called immediately back and they say they are the National
Rifle Association but it could be anybody as they refused to accept the call if you call back.   However,
when I clicked on more information, they said if I did not want to receive the calls anymore to list my phone number
and they would take it off their list.  I did this.

There are a LOT of "NRA" (National Rifle Association) FRAUDS using these fake-o 855 numbers.
Ask yourself why the hell the richest lobbying group in the world (one that I loathe) would call you. Answer is, they wouldn't. And don't.
Call up the REAL National Rifle Association through their website or a local chapter in your city and they'll tell you so.
These SCAMMERS just want YOU to answer the phone yourself so they can play their "National Recovery" game of pretending you owe money (to somebody, somewhere.) Then THEY will try and trick you into making a payment with your credit card ... giving them all they need to scam you.
At worst, they get a live phone number to add to the list of numbers they sell to other scammers.

I have also received calls from this number. In reading through the notes here a thought comes to mind even if your credit is perfect how about you next door neighbor? Mine is stiffer than a wooden pecker and in the past collection agencies have called and asked to speak to him at my number.

Dude, don't be a d***hit. It SAYS "thank you for calling the national rifle assoc" when you call back. Yes, it really is them. They have been hounding me since I dropped them like a hot potato a few years ago. They are loosing membership and want people back.

i called the number and got the National Rifle Association and could not speak to anyone - just got the message of who they were and that they would try to call me back.

Caller identified themselves as the NRA but once we got into the call I learned that it was NOT the NRA but instead it is a collection agency called National Recovery Agency. They are slick talking thugs trying to get personal information on someone that doesn't even live here. I had to hang up on them.

They call me 8  - 10 times per week.  NRA crap!  I'm on the National Do-Not-Call list, but they totally disregard this fact and break the law anyway.

Called it back, the recording said "Thank you for calling the National Rifle Association...."  Not a collection agency.

Caller ID just says Anonymous.  They've been calling here 3 times every day.

I recently moved in with my sister. This number has called several times in a days time on her phone, but when the caller ID shows who is calling it states: "Anonymous" and this particular number "855-638-7579". We never answer the call the answering machine always picks up (Never leaves a message). Who is going to answer a call that states that it is an "Anonymous" caller...No one that I know personally that's for sure.

And when they called,  did they also try to collect on 3rd party old debts such as this caller is trying to do?

If you were smart enough to buy a Digitone call blocker you'd think you'd be smart enough to know about spoofed numbers.   The National Recovery Agency is covering their tracks and violations of the FDCPA by spoofing the National Rifle Association's number.  This has been going on for months.  Try answering the caller when THEY call.  They will threaten you with jail if you don't pay for a debt that you've never heard of.
They tried to collect a 9 year old ALLEGED debt on me that I didn't make nor had I ever heard of.

Of course its the National Rifle association when you call the number back dumb a**.  That is the number that they are spoofing so that you can't blame the real culprits,  the National Recovery Agency.    Think about it......Why in the world would any organization whose total existence is supported by a membership base,   and donations,  commit political suicide by making these kinds of calls and representing themselves to the public in such a negative manner when they are hoping to increase membership and support?????   Anyone with half a brain can see that these calls are being spoofed and the National Rifle association is not going to spoof themselves.

would benefit from getting people mad at the NRA, since they are trying to take guns away. DUH!

I receive calls daily from this NRA group (National Recovery Agency). They have called using at least 10 different phone numbers.  When they call my number they are looking for my ex-daughter in-law who skipped out on a credit card balance.  Who I haven't seen or spoken to in 10 years.  But telling them that I have had no contact with her in 10 years doesn't matter to them.  They continue to call.  And they ARE NOT the National Rifle Association.  Here is one of their addresses: 2491 Paxton Street, Harrisburg, PA 17111.  Put that address in Google Maps and look at it with Google Street-View.  You can actually see the building they work out of.  It has NRA on the front of the building.  They are bottom feeders that buy bad debit from banks.  They buy it for pennies on the dollar so anything they can get from you is profit to them.

Ya'll are right about it being scammers.  I have a Digitone Call Blocker - well worth the $$ and peace of mind.  These calls do not get thru.  All the scammers hear is two rings and a hang up.  I see these numbers on the caller ID.  My home is paid for and do not anyone a dime!!!

This is NOT the National Rifle Association, it is National Recovery Associates. They are a scam debt collector as they try to collect on non-existent or dead debt that is past the statue of limitations for collection. This group is part of the NCO/Portfolio group. You can Google the companies & get a listing of the large block of numbers that they will call you from.
