These people have called me on and off over the past year... strangely they never show up to serve me.  I stay home and wait for it... I WELCOME it... every debt that I have is past the SOL in Texas-- so they are wasting their time and money.

I received a blocked call saying that they were going to serve me with court papers at my address. They gave me a "case number" and a number to call if I had any questions  (855) 640-4814. The case number was, of course, fake and this is some type of scam or collection agency. These people truly are the scum of the earth that have no better life goals than to harass people. Also, it's illegal to impersonate a state office. If you received this call just disregard it:)

Uh, didn't you reference above that your own mom had problems with this caller:

"ALL THIS TALK ABOUT SCAM, ALL THOUGH I HAVEN'T RECEIVED THE PHONE CALL MY MOTHER HAS, AND IN CURIOSITY I CONTACTED THIS SO CALLED "EPA" YOUR REFEREEING TO.
( I WORK IN ACTUAL COLLECTIONS)
THIS IS A LITIGATION FIRM, SO YES THEY CAN " COLLECT" MONEY ON DEBT "YOU" ACQUIRED BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH LITIGATION.
FOR YOU LAW GURUS.. "OPTION OUT CLAUSE...."
THIS WILL ALLOW YOU TO HANDLE WHATS NEEDED TO BE HANDLED FOR LESS THAN WHAT YOU OWE, WITHOUT THE BS THAT GETS ATTACHED TO THE "COLLECTIONS" THAT I DO.
AFTER HOLDING CONVERSATION WITH ONE OF THERE ACCOUNT SPECIALISTS, I FELT A BIT BELITTLED.. SO I WENT TO DO RESEARCH ON THE SITUATION BEFORE I ALLOWED MY MOM
TO PAY ANYTHING OR GIVE ANY INFORMATION, BECAUSE AGAIN I DO COLLECTIONS, AND IT JUST DIDN'T SOUND RITE..
SO I LOOKED AROUND SPOKE TO MY ATTORNEY AND HE CALLED, ASKED SOME QUESTIONS, AND BY THE END OF THE CONVERSATION, MY MOTHERS 9K DEBT SHE ACQUIRED AND WAS IN THE PROCESS OF
BEING SEWED OVER, WENT FROM 9K TO $4,389.65...
NOW WHAT I WAS AMAZED AT IS THIS,
ONCE THIS WAS PAID AND OF COURSE WE DID PAYMENTS ON IT.. "

...So maybe you should give your mom that lecture about being such a responsible person cause it's her "fault" as you put, that she's being harassed.

How BIG does that make YOU feel?!!!

no hunny,

its that they come to the realization that they f****d up and are gonna have to take care of it eventually..
so it might as well be done now while your being called out on it..

you should be grateful you get the reminder call that  you own thousands of dollars to lenders you decided to default on...

again, that's your problem not theres

lol....
well seeing as i don't give a rats a** on whether or not spelling is correct. do to the fact that i'm not the one on the other end of the calls, because im responsible enough to pay my bills.

if your so annoyed by the phone calls you should have thought of it before you decided not to pay your bills... same thing if you owe taxes or anything else, your gonna get collected on.

it could be through collections or litigation or by your own will, like you agree to when you sign up for what ever loan you may have taken out.

so before you get mad at people doing there job, stop and think about what your doing to deserve the calls.
pay your bills, and you can avoid the situation all together.
so, sounds to me like its your fault your being harassed!!!

while you take the time and energy out of your day to talk s*** on someone who is making a living and paying there bills on time, you are being harassed by the very people you hate for your own irresponsible actions...

how big does that make you feel!!!

HMMM "COLLECTIONS".....IT SEEMS AS IF YOU MAY BE WORKING FOR THIS COMPANY BECAUSE IF YOU WERE ACTUALLY ON THE RECEIVING END OF THESE CALLS I DOUBT YOU'D BE SO WILLING TO STICK UP FOR THEM. YOUR STORY SOUNDS MADE UP.

I CALL B.S.

ALSO, YOU MAY WANT TO CONSIDER GOING BACK TO THE 3RD GRADE FOR SOME SPELLING LESSONS. PLEASE OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING:
"WAIST" = WASTE      "RITE" = RIGHT     "SEWED" = SUED

THIS MAY EXPLAIN WHY YOU ENDED UP IN SUCH A CRAPPY JOB.

WELL,

IT SEEMS TO ME THAT IF THEY WERE A COLLECTION COMPANY THEY WOULD SAY SO..
I DONT THINK THAT BEING IN FALSE REPRESENTATION WOULD BE GOOD FOR EITHER ONE OF THE EMPLOYEES OR EMOPLOYER IN THE MATTER..
THERE ARE CERTAIN LAWS AND CERTAIN REGULATIONS ONE HAS TO ABIDE BY WHEN DOING COLLECTIONS..

HOWEVER WHEN ONE HAS A FIRM " OR REPRESENTATION" FOR THERE FIRM, TO DO LITIGATION ITS PERFECTLY LEGAL.
AND AFTER DOING FURTHER RESEARCH, SOME COMPANIES, DO USE 3RD PARTY PROCESS SERVERS, MOST PRIVATE COMPANIES RATHER THAN COUNTY.
MY POINT IS SOME OF THE PRIVATE COMPANIES WILL ACTUALLY CONTACT THE PARTY IN ORDER TO SCHEDULE A TIME OF SERVING.
THIS WAY ITS CONVENIENT FOR THE PERSON RECEIVING THE DOCUMENTS, AND IT DOESN'T WAIST THE TIME OF THE PROCESS SERVER.
NOW IF YOU ARE RECEIVING CALLS AND IT IS THAT IRRITATING, RATHER THAN GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND HAVING AN ATTITUDE WITH THE PEOPLE CALLING, TAKE THE MESSAGE
AND EITHER CALL THE NUMBER AND REQUEST YOUR INFORMATION BE REMOVED, OR RELAY THE MSG TO THE PERSON IN QUESTION SO THEY CAN HAVE THE INFORMATION REMOVED.
ALL THIS TALK ABOUT SCAM, ALL THOUGH I HAVEN'T RECEIVED THE PHONE CALL MY MOTHER HAS, AND IN CURIOSITY I CONTACTED THIS SO CALLED "EPA" YOUR REFEREEING TO.
( I WORK IN ACTUAL COLLECTIONS)
THIS IS A LITIGATION FIRM, SO YES THEY CAN " COLLECT" MONEY ON DEBT "YOU" ACQUIRED BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH LITIGATION.

BEING SEWED OVER, WENT FROM 9K TO $4,389.65...
NOW WHAT I WAS AMAZED AT IS THIS,
ONCE THIS WAS PAID AND OF COURSE WE DID PAYMENTS ON IT..
IT WAS REPORTED AS PAID IN FULL RATHER THAN SETTLED OUT LIKE A COLLECTION AGENCY WOULD DO..
WHEREAS MY COMPANY WOULD REPORT IT AS SETTLED IN FULL AND GO AFTER THE REMAINING BALANCE IN TAXES..
THIS DIDN'T HAPPEN, AND AFTER GETTING IT TAKEN CARE OF I HAD HER CONTACT THE BANK AND REMOVE THERE TRADE-LINE.. ALL IN ALL THOUGH THEY DO HAVE ATTITUDE AND THERE OUT SIDE PARTIES DON'T KNOW WHAT THERE DOING,
IT WAS A GOOD THING FOR MY MOTHER.
MAYBE INSTEAD OF BEING SO HOSTILE, AND CRUDE, YOU SHOULD CALL AND SEE WHATS GOING ON, ASK QUESTIONS, AND DO WHATS NEEDED, BUT I CAN TELL YOU, ITS NOT LIKE COLLECTIONS, THAT'S WHAT I DO. AND IF THEY HAVE AN ATTITUDE 98% OF THE TIME ITS BECAUSE YOU DO TO... ( FROM PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE)
AND IN THE END THOUGH WE GOT OUR MONEY FROM YOU WE DO SO AGAIN AT THE END OF THE YEAR...
YOU SHOULD THINK ABOUT THAT..
REGARDLESS OF THE FALSE OR FOUL THINGS BEING SAID, AND WITH SOME-OF YOU I AGREE WITH , BUT IT DID HELP IN THE LONG RUN..

SINCERELY,
COLLECTIONS

(11) The failure to disclose in the initial written communication
with the consumer and, in addition, if the initial communication with the consumer is oral, in that initial oral communication, that the debt collector is attempting

(12) The false representation or implication that accounts have been turned over to innocent purchasers for value.
(13) The false representation or implication that documents are legal process.
(14) The use of any business, company, or organization name other than the true name of the debt collector?s business, company, or organization.
(15) The false representation or implication that documents are not legal process forms or do not require action by the consumer.
(16) The false representation or implication that a debt collector
operates or is employed by a consumer reporting agency as defined by section 603(f) of this Act.

My x-husband got the first call from this group. The story was they had to serve papers to my step-son (no relationship to x-husband). My X called me and I relayed the message to my step son. He knew right away they were debt collectors. About a week later my X got another phone call, same message they would be by in the morning to serve the papers. No one showed up either time.

Two days ago the same people called my house here asking for my step-son and said if he did not respond in 24 hrs they would be at my house to serve papers. My husband called them back and said we did not know this individual.

I called this number back to see what was going on.  I talked to an "attorney" - and I use that term loosely - who claimed to be looking for a friend of mine and wanted info, of course gave him none.  They are using the initials EPA when they call and makes it sound like they are from the EPA.  He said they would not bother me again.  He said they hire a process serving company from outside their firm to find and serve people.  He claimed my friend had a court date and they wanted to serve her so she would have the opportunity to show up and answer the charges personally. A short time later the same number called me back, claiming to be the process serving company.  Hmmm... two different places and the same number?  NOT!  He threatened to send a deputy to my house to question me, claiming he thought I knew more than I was telling.  I informed him I was a cop and detective for 13 years (truth) and he could not make that threat, deputies/cops deal with criminal stuff and what he was threatening was illegal.  Conversation did not last long.

I received 2 calls that are obvious scam calls in reference to this number.  Calling about someone who happens to be a relative.  They never did ask to speak to the person, just telling me they have documents to serve & if they don't return call in 24 hours, officer will pick them up at my address.  Caller is name dropping & mentioning past addresses - definitely something is wronge here.  Not professional at all-but they are trying, not sure what.
