This is who they said they were when I called the number monitronics and they said they were doing alarm sales .How they ever were able to get my private non listed numbers that are only for emergency calls to and from my Doctors as I am very ill just frazzles me . It makes me think my Doctors sold my information . I have all my phones on the do not call list and am the do not send junk mail list too . Niether helps anymore I get both even though the numbers are active on both lists.

They called me too . I called it back and they were selling burgler alarms . I have 3 phones two unlisted and they somehow have been calling both my unlisted numbers that are on the do not call list .

What about call blocking cell phones, what kind do you recommend?

They call 2 time a day for the last 4 months, the number that calls is  1-631-665-8769 then they tell you to call 1-800-660-1855. t
hey  a recording comes on and tells you to leave a message and someone will call you back.  This is a crime in progress.

Received a call from this number and did not answer.  It rang until my answering machine picks up. If I get billed, I will go Federal with the Attorney General's office and I hope others will follow especially if you are on the Do Not Call Registry. The DNCR needs heavy revision to include these mutating scams.  The phone companies also need to be fined-heavily for providing such numbers that bill the receiver of the call without their authorization.

This number comes up as toll free and I answered it.  There was a woman on the line who wanted to verify my phone number.....I told her I'm on the DO NOT CALL LIST and to take me off her list....She kept on talking and I said I'm not verifying anything.  Take me off your list and don't call me again.

Fact 1 - The DNC list CLEARLY does not work, everyone should knows this by know!
Fact 2 - Filing a complaint with the FCC does not work, a total waste of time; done that.
Fact 3 - Having an unlisted phone will not help you.
Fact 4 - Asking/begging telemarketers to take you off their call list does not work!
Fact 5 - No "class action" suits are filed and certainly, this is not a remedy.   Many of these telemarketers are in other countries and out of the jurisdiction of the USA.
Fact 6 ?Complaining to the BBB is a corrupt organization that sells their ratings to the highest bidder.

Uniden and Panasonic make CALL BLOCKING telephones.  They?re cheap - $40-$60 and they usually come with a 2nd wireless handset, and they work beautifully!  These phones also block ?PRIVATE?, ?OUT OF AREA? and "UNKNOWN" calls!!!

They even call on Sunday.

I finally answered this number today to tell them to quit calling all hours of the day & night.
I kept saying hello but wasn't answered.  Get quite a lot of calls from the 855 area code -
someone with some authority needs to look into these calls and put a stop to them.

Try blocking the call.  After they call, get a dial tone, hit *60, then follow the prompts .... it should say to block the call, enter #01#.  That should do the trick ....

They have been calling every day. they do not leave a message.

Just got a call and tried the *60.  That does not block the call,  maybe because I have internet phone servcie.  They call every day between 3 and 4, no message.

getting calls from this and another that are hang-ups, when called back recording states "not activated"

Received call 9/28/11 @ 5:42 pm.  Not at home; no message left.  Number on Caller ID.  When call returned was told this number is on "hold and not yet activated".

I have received many phone calls from this and similar numbers.  Generally, I do not answer calls from 800, 866, 888, and especially 855 numbers that I do not recognize and that are masked as "unknown numbers".  However, the last straw is when they called at 9 PM on a Sunday night.

The caller asked for a Mr. M****, whom - of course - the number is not registered to.  I informed them that this is not Mr. M***'s number and that this number is registered on the do not call list.  Although apologetic, they stated that they were raising funds for a nonprofit organization, the Autism Spectrum Disorder Foundation.  I informed them that even if they are exempt from the DNC list, calling at 9PM on a Sunday night amounts to nothing less than harassment.  

Even more ironic, I am involved in autism education and have a family member on the spectrum.  I am well aware of the legitimate autism advocacy organizations, including those whom I personally disagree with their principles.  I have not heard of this particular organization and when I asked a few questions about it, she informed me that she was working for a telemarketing firm retained by the organization, recited a generic purpose of the organization but could not provide any further details.

To this point, I have not yet been able to confirm that this is a reputable organization, and if their lack of judgement in the telemarketing campaign is any reflection, it probably is not.  However, I also have not been able to prove that this organization operating illegally.  Let's face it, there are a lot of nonprofit "fund raisers" that only turn over a negligible amount of the monies they earn to actual charitable use, even if they are not technically defrauding their donors.

I will be attempting to follow up with this organization and lodge a formal complaint against their telemarketing campaign.  Unless a satisfactory response is provided, I will be forwarding a complaint to the state's Attorney General's office for investigation.  I recommend others do the same.  It is the only way that these NPOs will learn that harassment is harassment and that soliciting money under the marque of a developmental disability requires tact, dignity and respect.

Calls on 6:50pm on a Sunday???  What is going on - they don't have a day of rest in India?

looks like we are all in the same boat here. Extremely irritating! Why do we have to endure these phantom calls? I am only allowed so many calls to block on my list and am at max now. I am an artist and am bugged by the interruption to my creative flow.

Get calls from 855-660-8906 each day, sometimes 5 or 6 times a day, Why can't this be stopped?

I am receiving calls from 855-660-8906 about five times a day.  Please stop calls.

Same here....Two different 855 numbers keep calling my cell phone...855-784-0298 and 855-660-8906 .  When I try to call those numbers back I get a recording that says "your call cannot be completed, the number you dialed is on hold and cannot be activated".  No other information available where ever I search.

Given what you've all written here, I simply blocked future calls. I don't need to speak to the autism group, although I respect what they're doing.  From what I understand, when non-profit groups hire telemarketers to solicit funds the company doing the calling ends up with most of the money.  No good.

Marion....the 855 number is a toll free exchange. Toll free exchanges are 800, 866, 877, 888 and now 855. I work in the telephone/internet industry. For more info, go to www.sms800.com and that will give you more info about toll free, etc...
