I called this number back and it's from Acurian Medical Research.  They keep sending me emails and now they've somehow gotten my phone number.  I've added them to my blocked call list.

These people call and say you are going to be served. They did this to my Mom and Sister. When my mom called me about this something didnt sit right with me. This is some payday loan scam. Telling that my sister owed this money and would get served with paper work. What pissed us off is they had my moms car info, they had my brother in laws name. How the hell they got all this info is very suspicious. I contacted my mom back and had her call her credit card company since this is a scam and the FBI is working on this but hard to persecute since there is never a valid phone number or even an address. They say your check was bounced and if you do not pay a certain amount of money you will be served and arrested.  I work in a credit department and told my mom and sister to report this immediately.  They ended up having to get on their phone to block these calls. Then it was changed to your computer is having issues and they say they are representatives of Microsoft or windows. Nothing but scams. This all comes down to American companies who out source our jobs, scammers pay these people in foreign countries good money for Americans private information and use it to charge credit cards and so forth. We can blame our Government and our companies who outsource our jobs. I feel bad for those who fall for this and are screwed out of lots of money. ALWAYS CHECK into things before you give any information. If it is a legitimate company they will notify you in writing and so forth. DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR SCHEMING B***S***!!!!!

I have had several calls like this. I ended up calling the Charlotte, NC FBI office. The agent said something I thought was great and true....law enforcement officers will not call us first to give us a heads up they are on the way to arrest us. Do I/you think they would give us advanced notice. Also, look up FBI on the internet and follow the link for scam alerts, this tactic is on their alert list.  The FBI agent also told me scammers and fraudulent companies are at an all time high!! And, they have become very aggressive in their tactics.

They just left a message on my cell phone saying I was being "served" at home between the hours of 3-6 PM and I should be prepaired with my drivers' license.
They didn't say wahat I was being served for?
He also gave a "package #" and said "Condider yourself notified."

This scared me. I haven't done anything & whatI pwe I make payments on.

Has anyone ever had one of these "officials" actually show up?

they left a message saying that someone may be using my social security number and a case number. wanted a call back to talk to their legal department.  If that were true, they would be the last to know!
I am not going to waste my time with these scamers.

I jUST RECEIVED A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER AND I CALLED BACK AND CLAIMS I AM BEING SERVED. I QUESTION SERVED FOR WHAT? My husband got a call from this number on his cell and they left a message. They said someone may be using his identity and S. S. number and gave a case number. At the end they said it was for our son and to hang up if this wasn't him. Our policy is to not answer if it's an unknown number and see if they leave a message. Our son may owe money, but he doesn't give out our phone numbers. If they know so much I guess they can find his number and call him! I always check out unknown numbers here before I do anything.

they changed the number on me 855-869-2164 but everything else rings true. AAG or Argos. said they are trying to serve me at home or work for a payday loan in 07 that is unpaid. this isnt even something i did, but they are not very helpful in what i need to do, other than pay them today or they will come to work and serve me. is this legal? its the first time i have heard from them and they gave me from 10 am to 3 pm to do whatever reasearch i need to do and then resolve it. really???? its gonna take some time to figure out what is going on. this is ridiculous!

They left a message saying my name and social security number may have been fraudulently accessed.  They did not leave a name but left a case number.

It sounds like the best advice listed is to report them and ignore them, but they just called me three times in 10 mintues.  I am waiting for the hospital to call about a dear sister and it makes me jump everytime.  Ignoring these calls is not only annoying but it is extremely stressful.  I really wish there was some way to make them stop without having to change my number I've had for 15 years. :(

I got calls from this number today but no message was left. The sheriff is not going to come out and arrest you for not paying a bill. This is a scare tactic that these people are using to scare money out of you for unknown reasons. They probably are not a real company. They are probably using cell phones and other devices to call you from. That would explain why many of you can not reach them via phone calls. Sounds like to me that they obtained certain credit report information and are trying to collect on accounts that you have either closed or perhaps current on. This is a scam what they are doing and it is illegal. I suggest that if they do leave you a message or you talk to them and they say the sheriff is coming to arrest you at work that you notify the FCC. They have a website you can file a compliant against these people. You can also call your local police and let them know you are being harassed and record the conversation with these scum bags for the police to hear.

Based on what I have read up to this point in time no one has gone to jail or been served. Whatever yo do dont give them your personal information or any bank account information.

Do not worry, the sherriff will not come pick you up, they will never come to your place of employment and have you sign important documents... not quite sure what or who they say I owe, but have been getting these threats on and off for about 1 year now.... they also say they will have a courier in my area with important docs, etc... Whatever... if they were on the up and up, they would take regular legal channels... like small claims court and a judgement... do not give them ANY info. If they really want me to talk to them, they would leave a message.
They won't tell me who they are, or where they are, and honestly I don't care.  
Just ignore.

have got three call from today no message on two of them and no one would talk to me on the other

They call me 10 times a day and never leave a message.  I call them, play loud music, and put the reciever up to the speaker.  Two can play this game.

I received calls from this number on my cell and work.  When I answered my cell they asked for me by the wrong name.  They used my old married name which I haven't had for a very long time.  I asked what it was for and she told me she couldn't give me any information until I verified information with her.  I told he to go to hell and not call back.  The call to my work was just as weird.  They again asked for me by the incorrect name.  I wasn't there so my boss asked to take a message and they person told her it was in regards to a restraining order and that I had 24 hours to call back.  I didn't.  I now know the number these calls come from and they come once a month a few times all on the same day.

I received a call on my cell but declined it and they left no Voicemail message.  I have no idea who they are and how they got my phone number.

They actually called my Corporate Office and told them that they had papers to serve me, and gave a case (plantiff) number. This is totally illegal, and i will pursue this further! I do not owe anyone anything...so Not sure what this is.. anyone know what type of collections they do?

Thank you everyone for your posts regarding AAG! I received a call from them this morning stating that they were giving me a few hours notice before they served me at my primary place of residence or place of employment. I called the 1-855-666-1469 number. The guy asked me the name of the person who called and said they were a process server. They wanted me to verify my bank account info and I said absolutely not. All they were able to tell me was the company they were supposed collecting for and some outrageous total they came up with including interest and attorney fees! The guy put me on hold and he would transfer me to a person who would help me resolve my "case". I hung up because I was on hold forever. I looked at my county's website and there are no civil cases pending against me! I have received two more calls from 2 different numbers! There has to be a way to stop these guys!!

This number keep calling and every now and then they say that I will be serve.

Received a call from this number. The message said that it was about a default payment that was made in a recorded message and I have one last chance to contact them before they take legal action. Gave me a reference number.

Yes, they called me too and no message.

I get a call from this phone number every couple hours for a day or two, every couple of weeks, since June 2011. If I answer, I get a (badly) recorded computerized voice, saying that the call is solely for "Myrna Lanard" (?), regarding collection processes from "The Outsourcing Department of Alliance Group". It encourages me to press 1 to talk to someone right away, or call back to the same number. If I try to call it back, the phone number doesn't exist. I haven't pressed 1, cuz I don't feel like wasting my time with them.

But if I HAD time to waste with these obvious scammers, I would have a blast using some of the info that you've provided, Fed Up! Thanks for your information on this.

They keep calling me and not leaving any messages or nobody is there when called back

THESE SCAM ARTIS ARE CALLING ME 5 & 6 TIMES A DAY WITH THE MESSAGE THAT I HAVE BEEN NAME IN A LAW SUITE !!!! I CALLED SOMEONE ANSWERED SAYING THEY NEED MY INFO- LIKE MY S.S. NUMBER, I SAID STOP CALLING MY CELL NUMBER THE GUY HUNG UP !!!

I have recieved calls from a lady saying she is a courier and has legal papers to serve me and my home or place of employment unless I call this number 855-666-1469. I called the number and the guy was very rude, very threatening and would not give me any information except to tell me lots of personal information that he knew. When I told him I couln't pay the debt today he got very ugly and told me he would be filing fraud and reporting me to the local police then he said that they will be serving me papers and my home or place of employment. I just said ok there is nothing I can do, I am sick and out of work because of it. Every day since the "courier" has called and left me messages saying that she will be serving me today at my home or place or employment. So far they have not come to serve me. I am ill and behind on all bills, I get calls from collectors daily, by far this collector is the worse I have experienced.

You probably have a claim under federal law for thsi conduct. contact your atty or find a consumer law atty in your area who might handle on a contingent fee basis.I am investigating another claim against this outfit.
