Received a call from this number- DIDN'T RECOGNIZE NAME OR NUMBER ON CALLER ID - DIDN'T ANSWER AS I KNOW IT'S AN ANNOYING/HARASSING CALL. Guess Best Solution is NOT TO ORDER ANYTHING ONLINE OR GIVE YOUR PHONE # OUT AS IT IS BEING SOLD TO EVERY TOM DICK AND HARRY ahem Spammer OR SOMEONE THAT HAS NOTHING BETTER TO DO WITH THEIR LIFE OR BUSINESS, AS MANY TIMES  IT'S A ROBO CALL OR INFORMATION ON LOWERING INTEREST RATES. ***THE DO NOT CALL LIST SURE DOESN'T WORK - ESPECIALLY AROUND ELECTION TIME WHEN ONE GETS BOMBARDED WITH POLITICAL CALLS AKA ROBO CALLS THREE FOUR OR FIVE TIMES A DAY.

Did not answer this call but a Voice Mail popped up with the tail end of a recorded message to press 1 to an option to speak with an agent.  Why do these companies feel that we want to do business over the phone? Why are phone companies getting away with providing rotating number for bogus or shady telemarketing scams. They should be fined along with this type of businesses. Word of advice, quit answering these calls as those options they provide are a worthless waste of time and are probably forwarding your number to other telemarketeers. Also, I have found that when I do telephone business with my bank, I usually get this type of call within a couple of hours.  My bank denies it but......

Answered call from this number.  Caller asked for me by saying "Mr. Smith?" using my real first name.  When I said "yes" she proceeded to tell me about disfortunate children in the area and wanted to know if she could send me a kit to take door to door and get pledges for people to send them money for this charity [didn't even recognize the charity name].  She kept emphasizing they were NOT asking for me to send money to the charity, just get others to do it.  Told her we were leaving on vacation during the winter months [we're not - we go nowhere] at which she abruptly hung up.

I forwarded my hospitalized mother's phone to my number and some guy said, "Mary Ann?" in a tone that indicated he knew my mother.  Obviously not, but I am now worried once my mother gets out of the hospital, that she will unwittingly engage in a conversation with a bogus bill collector.

I have received numerous calls from this number and the one and only time that I did answer they told me that they were following up with someone in my house that has diabetes. I told them that no one in the house has diabetes and if they called back again they would be reported to the authorities in my area. Well they continue to call and I just ignore them anymore. Thank heavens for caller ID.

Same here. Several calls daily. Nobody there. When you call the number a voice says, " your cannot be completed because the number is not set up yet." I agree with the removal of their fingers - right below their chin!

I just talked to my phone service provider and they recommended doing a *57 every time it happens then after 3 or 4 times (or more if you like) report it to the local police with your contact for the phone service provider. The Police will contact the provider with your consent and pursue harrasmaent charges against the company or person doing it.
I have mixed feelings about doing that but I pay for my service, not the dimwit that is calling and hanging up.

The national pandemic of telephone terrorism perpetrated by desperate criminal collection agencies is because they are trying to terrorize people who are naive enough to answer and submit to unsolicited telephone calls or written "collection" letters that have no legitimate legal debt associated with them or any of the companies, universities, or whomever else they claim to represent. Because most "little guys" were bankrupted by the criminal Wall St/Congress/Big Oil/Big Bankers/Big Business/Military/Robber Barons, so the desperate collection agencies are attempting to collect unpaid debts from innocent people by terrorizing them into submission.

Word of advice. NEVER answer any calls you don't recognize or are not expecting. Use selective call rejection service if available, or switch to an Internet-based telephone service which provides comprehensive call rejection options. If rogue calls become chronic, turn off all the ringers on all of your phones except one, and set its volume to the minimum setting. If you don't answer the call and the caller is legitimate, they will usually leave a voicemail after the first or second try. Rogue callers never leave voicemail messages because that could be used as evidence against them if it came to a lawsuit. If you receive a rogue letter in the mail warning you of some "collection" action against you, if you don't actually owe it, reply with a short letter stating that you don't owe it. Or if you do owe all or part of it, reply with something like "You claim I owe you a debt. Under §809 FDCPA, I request validation of this debt."

Only give them your name as THEY have written it to you (e.g. ?John Doe? not ?Jonathon Q. Doe? or however you normally sign your own name), address, and the account number they report. But if you do not owe the debt (zombie debt, aged debt, mistaken or stolen identity, forgery, etc.) state that you have never done any business with them or with the (alleged) original creditor of any kind and you expect the collection agency to close the matter, stop harassing you and take any bad credit marks they've caused off of your credit rating, and furthermore, that any further contact from them must be in writing on their official business correspondence letterhead. Send your letter to them a.s.a.p., always within thirty days, first class certified mail return receipt requested. If they refuse it and you get the letter back unopened, leave it unopened and save it in your files as evidence against them should they pursue legal action against you. If they did receive it and continue to pursue action against you, let them. The judge will throw it out of court. If the rogue collection agency sells your account to another rogue collection agency just tell them the claim has been proven invalid and offer to send them a copy of your letter to the previous rogue collection agency.

Warn all your friends about this rash of desperate collection agency terrorism, and how to combat it. Knowledge is power. The more you learn how to combat rogue collection agencies, back-taxes scammers, phishing scammers, "faith and family" scammers, political action committees and other low-life flimflammers, the more you will learn how easy it is to do.

Above all, keep a record of everything, of every rogue call w/ caller ID information displayed including time and date of each call. Maintain a complete file on any snail-mailed intimidation from rogue collection agencies, including copies of all correspondences and postal receipts. Reporting rogue calls on sites like 800notes.com, whocallsme.com, phoneowner.info is a great idea too, because many people find these sites by googling for the rogue number(s) after receiving calls from them.

I received a call from this number about 45 minutes ago.  I said hello and there was HYSTERICAL LAUGHTER on the other end.  When I asked who this was they said the Autism Society.  After checking the number online I see where this seems to be a scam number.  Please stop this as they were soliciting for donations!!!

Could be litgit.. However I get calls from my neighbors asking to do that too. Guess the charity has to start somewhere. Can you make 10 calls for us, and then ask others to do the same.

I figure if they can't leave a message, if a number comes up unavaiable, unknow, out of area that I don't recognize I don't have to call back or worry about it.

Our telephones are for our use not other companies, charities or politicians. And we don't have to answer any calls at all!
