confirmed form CRA, he is  a true scammer, Named Shun yuguang. call number  613 948 4982. returned call number 1855-742-1189, fax number 1888-960-8022

I get a call from this number , he said he is from Revenue Canada, need all my account transaction summary. How did  he get my accounts Number?

When the machine picked up caller hung up.

RDR,    here's another Reference number   CR 120749-086 .   And it's about as valid as the phoney number that guy gave you...  All that number is going to do is give him reference as to who he called.  Probably calls hundreds per day and needs a memory jogger just in case someone calls back.....

'miffed'  You are correct.   Revenue Canada would send a letter.  It is not uncommon for the scammers to obtain a lot of information about anyone they want.   The internet will provide them with all they need.  However,  when they lack certain information,  they will call you and try to get it.   keep you eyes open for these bottom crawlers.

'charles',   never, never, never,  ever give any information "at All"  to a total stranger, or any one else,  over the phone.  To confirm her BD and address,  is the same as saying "give me your personal info so I can figure how to scam you."  Revenue Canada would never call and as for this info.  Should they call back,  tell them to put it in and envelope,  lick it,  then post it.  If they were legit,  they wouldn't have called them or expected them to provide that info about your wife.   I assure you, any one who calls and expects you to give them this information is up to no good.  Make sure your wife and her parents know this too.   Heads up  and   THINK!!

got a call from cra tfsa unit for my husband to call this number back. we havent touched or used our tfsa in years, so i looked up the number and found this. he is going to call the main CRA telephone number and go from there.

This guy has been busy. Oriental guy from CRA called about birthdate discrepancy with my bank. He did give me a reference number though, PB 121222112147

This caller, posing as Revenue Canada, somehow already has information about me and who I bank with and is digging for more info - worrying isn't it? He peristently leaves messages in very broken English and an unprofessional manner and he mentions some sort of tax free account. I am not returning the call to 855 742 1189 as he has requested. I'm sure Revenue Canada would send a letter and not request such information over the telephone.

my friend rec'd phone call from 613-948-4982 claimed that he is Mr. Shun (speaks Mandarin) from Revenue Canada request her birhtdate & gave her return phone call no. 1-855-742-1189. We think this is scammer. Please aware.

I have received a couple of calls from this scammer and I calle him back and left a nasty message. I don't think RevCan would hire an individual who cannot speak English to do outcalls. He wanted to know my birth date so I told him, in a not so nice way, that if RevCan did not know my birthdate after 40 years then they, and him, can go to hell.

my wife's parents received a call from a person at this number asking for personal information about my wife (confirm birth date and address).  the individual said he was from revenue canada and left a message to have someone call him back. we cannot confirm the identity of the person or whether the call was legitimate.  we would appreciate any information that you can provide.
