People it's a scam. Any court action is going to come with knock on the door or a letter in the mail. I've gotten two of these calls with the same message that I had 24-48 hours to respond to a complaint that had a restraining orders blah blah blah so call this toll free number.....
Nobody's going to call you regarding a legal action with a robocall.

And for those of you asking this "Luke" what the company name was...I'd say it's the same company that writes his paychecks. That is if he's a real person. I'm sure there'll be another persona that'll say the same thing on here before too long.

Think about it...sure are a lot of people all over the country getting the same call from the same number with directions to call the same number and more than likely the same "claim" number.

855-763-0455 called our number. Five adults live here but no respondent requisted. Had restraining order w/number to respond. Since the restraining order was attached, I didn't respond. They'll have to notify me through snail mail to get my attention, that way I can check them out w/the BBB and Attorney General in my state.

I  received half a message on my voicemail from 855-763-0455.  Message said I was respondent in court action, gave me a claim number, told me it involved a restraining order, and that I had 24 hours to respond with my attorney.  I tried to call this number back as well as 855-714-3585.  The 855-763-0455 number had a recording that said it was not set up to receive calls.  The second number went straight to a voicemail.

Scam artists is all they are and should not be taken seriously. Report them to the FTC as it is illegal to threaten, harrass or take criminal action against someone when trying to collect a debt. These are civil matters and NOT criminal.  Big red flag is when they don't identify by name and a summons to appear is served in person, not on the phone. Total idiots...they are predators.

Yes - they're scammers!  Report the call to the FTC, the FBI and your state's Attorney General.  Believe me, if you had a court date, your local courthouse would be able to tell you this when you call them.

I received a message from this number saying it is a civil investigations unit about a claim filed against me. I have been named in a court action and must appear - involving a restraining order. They provided a claim number and said I should contact my attorney and I had 24 - 48 hours to respond. The claim number was provided two times in the message but there were two different phone numbers give to call back. If it isn't in writing I am not responding.

I got a call from this number today, I didn't answer and they left the same BS message that I have a restraining order filed against me and need to call back ASAP.  I called 8 times because they kept hanging up on me anytime I would ask for detailed information in regards to the actual company they work for.  Any time I would bring up federal laws pertaining to the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA) they would hang up.  Each person I spoke with told me the same song and dance about all these bogus charges that had been filed against me.  I asked for information to be sent to be in writing within 5 days as this was the first contact that I had with them, stating how much money I owe as this is one of the requirements set by the Federal Trade Commission.  They said I will receive my summons but couldn't tell me how long it will take because the "processors" get paid per person they send these supposed summons to so sometimes they wait until they have a lot and do it.  WTF?!?!?!?!?!  What is really sad to me is that people out there are falling for this or this company would not exist.  I am going to keep calling them, every day, as much as I can until I get confirmation as to who they are or bug them enough to where they leave me alone!!!  The other thing I have noticed is on many of these message boards there is ONE person who claims, "Oh this is real, I actually got the summons....blah blah" but then won't respond to any of the replies asking who the company is.  This company is just a large group of asshats!!!!

I got a phone call, too.

If they can't tell you where the judgment came from (what circuit court, county, state)...it's probably not legit.  Also, a restraining order?  If they have a restraining order against you, they can't contact you.

Finally, if they can't give you any information regarding the company that has this "judgment" against you, then just keep an eye open.

Received the same call today (8-13-13).  I personally know  that all issues regarding a restraining order, or any matter that involves a court order, will be served to you in person.  Please don't speak to these people the are scammers and are only after your money.  They pray on people who are totally innocent of any wrong doing.

Never pay any caller money unless they have mailed (not emailed or faxed) documentation proving that you owe this debt to them.  Anyone can call you up and say they're "X company" when they're not.

Also - "restraining order" waves the biggest red flag of all - people are not issued restraining orders unless they're being forbidden to have contact with another person!  Scammers use this legal terminology all the time hoping to scare people, even when it doesn't make sense!

A legitimate debt collection agency which abides by federal law would have no problem mailing you a debt validation letter showing original creditor, amount owed, date of loan, date of last payment and also proof that they are licensed to claim and collect said debt in your state.  You also said they couldn't tell you what the debt was for - a payday loan, a medical bill or a "bounced" check - if that doesn't tell you it's a scam, it should.

Next time they call - and they will - tell them that you've reported them to the FTC, the FBI and your state's Attorney General (and do so).  Advise them that on the advice of your attorney (even if you don't have one), you're recording all calls they make to you.  Bottom line - never pay unless the caller can send you documentation proving you owe the debt to them.

I just received a call from this number stating I was being served papers in 24 to 48 hours and that a restraining order had been filed against me.  I have no idea what they are talking about.  When I tried to return the call, the number was "not accepting incoming calls."  If I DO call my attorney, it will be to file a suit against these people.

Debt Collector
I received a call from the number 855 763 0455 and the lady said I needed to pay 300.00 right away on a Payday loan or a medical bill and there will be a restraining order and I would be summoned to court. I told her I do not have a debt with a payday loan company outstanding anywhere and no unpaid medical bills and that I had received the same call 6 months ago and 6 months before that. I researched my bank acct and found no bounced 300.00 check. The caller would give me no information about the creditor or date of the check. Only that it was written in 2012. The man last year said 2011. I am so confused so I refused to pay for something I knew nothing about and the lady could not tell me about. So she said good luck in court and hung up.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.
