I got this phone call twice.  Saying I owed a $100 ticket and if I didn't call and pay it a bench warrant would be issued for me.  I called back and actually got a person on the phone and the first thing he did was ask me if I was ready to pay the ticket.  And then got MAD when I refused without some proof of the "ticket".  He stated that it was a parking ticket I got last year in Nashville.  I thought that was funny because I don't go Nashville and when I did I was either at my doctors office or at my husbands place of employment behind locked gates!!!  He told me they would send me the info showing proof of the ticket.  Funny I have never received it.  That was almost 2 months ago.  It is a scam.  He hung up real quick when I started asking questions!!!  The first time I received the call it came out of Nevada and the next time it was unknown!!!  I figured it was a scam from the start because the message sounded like Mickey Mouse on helium.

I received one of these calls just yesterday. Oddly enough haven't had a car in three going on four years....such a scammm!!!!!!!!!! Called back and its a non working number

Jennifer,  no one on this discussion board can stop or block any calls for you.  You'll have to handle it.

Its ashame these scamming calls. I called my local parking authority to ensure I have no tix and let them know. It gave me 2 different 855 numbers. Then I had to call my local utility company and first thing on their recording was they have had scammers calling saying people owe them money and not to give anyone info. Is this world crazy or what. This is a scam!!!!!!!!!! Don't even call it back.

I just received a call from a "blocked" number, computer recording autocall. They gave me 2 separate numbers to call back.

The said I had an unpaid ticket for $100 and said to avoid a bench warrant of a visit to my home and jail time to contact them immediately.

I called my local police department they said it sounds like a scam. Calling the BBB and stopping by the police station on the way home.

What's even more interesting is a few moments later I received another "scam"  call from Prize Winner Clearing House... I told them to take me off their calling list

My daughter got the exact same phone call.  What a scam!

Recieved the same call...... I did call back the phone number ----855-782-8356-----recorded message went on stating I owed 100. dollars, to call the number above to straighten matters out........and if I do not respond a bench warrant and the police will be at my door.....The voicemail did not leave a message indicating  who they are........I TOTALLY BELIEVE   SCAM...........

I got all the same as above. I did call back and left messages in fear of being arrested. Then after I thought about it I realized it must be a scam. They give you no real reference info. I just hope I didn't give them anything they wanted by calling back. They obviously already have my name and cell phone #. This is so annoying. I hate these scammers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got same as above. Called several times, left messages, no response. I hope it's just a scam because I don't want a warrant for my arrest over a stupid ticket I may not even have. No info given, I think it's a scam!!!

I got a call from this number say that I got a ticket from 100 dollars I called several times no 1 answer the phone. was just a voice recorded. if someone know something about it please let me know. Thanks

glad to hear that I am not the only one. I have never had a ticket, so in my mind this is a scam. I could never get a real voice and after it asking for me to state my name I was suspicious and hung up.

Candy,  you will not be arrested.  It is just some disturbed person apparently setting up a scam attempt.
The overdue $100 dollar ticket scam is relatively new in the world of thieves and is just now being recognized by th public.  Don't even think of calling them back or responding to future calls.  That is how society is today, and yet,  that call could originate from some other country.  Not worth worrying about.

I just called back this number because they said that I had an overdue ticket for $100.  They called back and said that someone from my number just called the state troopers.  I said "what?"  and they hung up.  I was sitting here crying thinking what in the world happened?  Thinking I was going to get arrested.  I haven't even driven in over a year because I don't have a running car.  I reported this call to my police dept and am waiting for a call back.  The recorded disguised voice used my nickname and not my given name.  Very weird and disturbing.  I pray that no one falls prey to this scam.

Got the same recording about unpaid ticket and bench warrant. SCAM..completely ignored. I have never gotten a ticket.

What a debt collector CANNOT do:

?Use deceptive practices. For example, threaten you with arrest or  trick you into paying for collection calls.
?Use obscene language.
?Call you at work after you tell them that your boss does not approve these calls.
?Deny you the right to receive a written notice (within five days after your first phone conversation) that would tell you how much you owe and the name of the creditor that says you owe the money. If you do not receive the notice within five days, call the collection agency and ask for its address and fax number. Then, send a letter to the collector noting its failure to send you the required notice. As a minimum, make a note in your file.
?Refuse to give its name and the name of the collection company when asked.
?Put a debt on your credit report if you file a dispute. It must validate the debt by obtaining a verification of the debt or a copy of a judgment from the creditor before continuing their collection efforts. The results of the investigation must be mailed to you.

I did call my local police dept and they informed me that they are aware of this scam. Other people have called in to complain.

I got a call this morning 3/1/2013 saying the same thing... that I owed a $100.00 ticket and if I did not pay I would have a bench warrant for my arrest. I did not talk to anyone, they left this message on my phone... I did not call the number back because I thought it may be a scam, because I knew that I did not have any tickets.

Just got the same call but it said Restricted Number on my phone.  When I listened to the voice mail they left it said the same thing about an $100.00 unpaid ticket.  The weird computer voice tried to say my name and even said what town I live in!  What will they do next?

I don't have no citations, I know I don't owe anyone $100.00. It was a little disheartening to be threatened that way.  I'm not calling back, because you all gave good information. Thank You!

these dumb mutha f*&%&* dont they no fones have caller id i got a call from (702}861-0009,on cell fone and when i called back it gave me the(855)7828356 to call for a 100..00 ticket that i need to pay or a warrent will be issued seriously i have bout 3 tickets 10xs that amount lol and dont have no warrents the calls are coming from lauflin,nv.they just trying to get green dot/money packs activation codes

It is easy to disguise where the phone number is coming from and give it a false location where it originates from. Make sure you tell the police the info you found out so they can track it.

I received the same message from the 702 number. At the end of the message there is a recording to hit 1 to hear this recording again. In the background there is some music and it almost sounds like black gospel music. I don't have a way of recording and breaking it up. My first thought was a scam. I don't have a vehicle, haven't had a vehicle since beginning of August of last year, haven't been anywhere here since I moved here, and don't know anyone. Someone mentioned they were on the phone with the real highway patrol, would like to know what they had to say.
