8557857384 received a call and a message from Tony at Allied Collections LLC, when called back, they could not identify me and had no records yet the message said my name,

found a charge on my CC today. this number was listed. check your bank statments!!

This is not the American Lung Association.  This is a scammer who poses as anybody he can. He disguises his voice (every nationality he can think of) & phone numbers he calls from. He makes idle threats & pretends to be a federal investigator, police officer, sales person etc. He has threatened to come to my house if I don't respond to his calls.  He ends each call good bye & good luck.  At one point when he posed as a sales person, he left my entire social security number on the message.  That's when I took action & filed ID theft.  

He calls my cell phone constantly.  He constantly changes the phone number he is calling from.  Thank goodness I am able to block anyone not on my contact list!  I had to have my work number changed he called so much.  Most recently, he has found my new work number after moving to another city in NC.  This person in relentless.  He will not get one dime from me & I have no earthly idea how he keeps finding out my information.  It is scary but I know I don't any federal or state agency nor am I allowed to based on where I'm employed. Beware!

I have one of the Digitone Blockers, however it is limited to 100 blocked calls which fills up rather quickly with all the scammers calling. I ordered a Pro Call Blocker, installed it and it can block up to 1500 incoming calls of 16 digits each.  Check out this site:  http://www.amazon.com/Incoming-Call-Blocker-Display-Blacklist/dp/B0089IHBE8.  I have both blockers installed and they do not interfere with each other.  Finally, a little more peaceable in my home.

It looks like it has been a while since these A**Ho**s rang our phones and wasted our precious time, but they are at it again. Time to block them.

Numerous calls from numerous different numbers in the past week. The description is always ALA and have at least 6 or more numbers.

wabanmom mentions above that there are three numbers attached to an 855 prefix: 784-0301, 785-7384, 798-6818, calling in rotation.  When we call back we hear a recorded message that identifies the American Lung Association.  This bunch is particularly obnoxious, calling late at night and on Sundays. I assume that they are actually telemarketeers contracted to the charity.  Many non-profits are employing this technique.  Unfortunately, non-profits are exempt from the restrictions of the Federal Do-Not-Call list.

Tonight I answered yet another call ? and gave the guy who was obviously admittedly calling from an agency representing this charity (American Lung Asso.) which is, of course, exempted from the Do Not Call list as are all charities and political calls ....lotsa voices in the background.

I yelled at him. A lot!  After I was done my rant, he verified my phone # and said it would be removed...?and have a good night.?

I get the 855 #'s all the time, too! Last 7 digits always vary...anytime of day or late at night.
If I pick up..they hang up. Surely this can be stopped somehow! On a reverse look-up, I also got the American Lung Association.... I e-mailed them with my complaint. You'd think they'd find a way to intervene since they will surely lose donation money.

reporting does nothing and these a***oles continue to be a pain in the rear end.

Didn't leave message - I called it back and recording said it was American Lung Association and they will call back.  I'm so tired of these Toll Free and Anonymous calls I will not wait for them to call back - I blocked the number.

Ditto your message.  They call CONSTANTLY, as early as 8:30 AM and as late as 9:00 PM.  Have blocked MULTIPLE NUMBERS from this same party - assuming the ones who have identified that "TOLL FREE CALL" series of numbers is correct.  Answered the phone ONCE a few weeks ago and told whoever it was right off the bat that we had NO MONEY to spare and we politely requested that we be taken OFF the calling list.  Did that stop it?  NO, NO and NO!  AGAIN they called just after I had gone to sleep from working a 12 hour shift - at precisely 8:40 AM.  IF this is TRULY the AMERICAN LUNG ASSOCIATION, and IF they are on the up and up, and IF the money raised is REALLY USED for the intended purpose, then HOW CAN THEY AFFORD TO HAVE AT LEAST 5 different toll free numbers (that is how many I have reported thus far) calling all hours of day and night for MONTHS.  They are either VERY STUPID OR they snatch enough money out of the elderly to keep their scam going.  These people should be raided and put out of business!  Imagine - they are BILKING the ELDERLY, who have LITTLE to spare - to say the least.  This is absurd - to the point that I am ready to pull together EVERY PENNY I HAVE to get a private investigator to EXPOSE these SCAMMERS and PUT THEM OUT OF BUSINESS.

Approximately twice per day I get a call from 1-855-785-7384.  No message is left.
I am on the Do Not Call list.
I have not answered any of these calls.
From other posts on this topic I infer that the organization is trying to offer payday loans to random persons.
I thank the previous persons who have posted information on this unwanted activity.
My approach to stop these calls will be to contact my phone service provider.

Enough of these idiots! What is the DOC register for if they are allowed to continue to call?

This caller has to STOP - I get called DAILY since June 2011.  I am on do not call list.  Calls start with 855 and rest of number varies every time.  Calls start as early as 8 AM and as late as 9 PM.  Caller never leave message - just hangs up.  You would think that since I NEVER answer this call they would stop, but to no avail these calls still come daily.  Some agency needs to ride this caller to stop.

Thanks for the info. However, I am a senior on social security..have to watch those dollars(LOL), so I will just delete, delete and delete when those calls come in. In fact, if I am near my answering machine and the phone rings with one of those annoying calls, I  check the caller ID and just pick up the receiver and hang up after the first ring(LOL).

After having so many 800 number phone calls, I finally followed someone's suggestion and learned how to block phone calls using my phone service.  Then I started keeping track of the organizations that keep calling. What I've found out since I started doing that is the American Lung Assoc has called me at least once a week for the past month.  Each time they're using a different phone number since I have already blocked the previous number used.  So far they've used 855-767-9752, 855-784-0301, 855-798-6818 and 855-785-7384.  I sure hope they run out of phone numbers soon!!!  They're wasting their time.
