one is, they can only contact you three times with in a 7 day period, and are not allowed to call you on a cell phone if they have other means because they cannot call you where you incure charges for the call.

I have been getting the same call over the last few weeks. I made a mistake of giving some information initially but then called my bank and verified and they said that they do not hire any such company or people to collect on behalf of them and they told me that no genuine company will every ask you to verify your personal information as they would have it on the screen. They also advised me to call the the police and notify. Upon calling the police and giving them this number the police got back and told me that this number is being dialled out of Bangladesh and possibly then could be redirected from anywhere in the world. They said it is imperative that I not give out ANY information to anyone asking! They also said that unfortunately since Bangladesh is out of their jurisdiction they cannot do much.

I do not have a credit problem, and do not owe anyone any money! I do not answer phone numbers that I do not recognize, but have received 28 phone calls, some starting at eight o'clock in the morning, from this phone number within the past couple of weeks. I phoned the local telephone operator and she tells me area code 855 is in Asia. Can someone please tell me how I can get rid of this annoyance?

Hello, to stop them from phoning you, you just need to block the number as i did. Then no more calls! simple and easy!

Just got a call from this number telling me I have car loan with scotia bank(I don't even deal with that bank at all) & was asking me to verify(tell them) my dob & address which I refused to give so he was quite aggressive when I asked who r u he was giving me his phone number +1 (855) 788-4042 then on asking again he gave me his name "Alan''  when I asked for his last name he is saying he is not giving his info he is calling from CBv collection company & he will call me again.
Be careful don't give out info to anyone who calls specially of they r claiming they are from bank or so.

This POS has called 62 times in the last 21 days.  Never answer any phone call from a number that starts with 8 and this is simple harassment.  My cell phone was purchased using cash,  is registered under a false name and have never given out the number to anyone except close friends.  It's also a pay as you go phone which has phone time paid for only in cash.  Thus, this collection agency is, IMHO, a terrorist organization that needs to be reported as such.

The primary problem I face now is how to make this POS wish they'd never dialed my number?  Obviously if I want to maintain an anonymous cell phone, the police are out.  There's no local office of this group of spammers locally so crazy gluing their locks is also out as an option.  Only option I can see is to use another SIM card from the 4 burn phones that I bought to create another number and hope that I don't run into another POS like the one at this number.  Still, there's a very strong need to get retribution and if anyone has any ideas I'd be interested in hearing them.

Got the call twice today (19/10/2013 ) from the same number. Didn't bother answering .. a constant annoyance.

Number 855 788.4046 keeps calling me.  Five times in last 45 minutes.  They never leave a message. I do not answer because I know it is a scam. I will Find a way to stop this, that's a promise.

They call multiple times daily on my cell phone and home phone.  I do not answer the calls and they never leave a message.

They have called my house phone over 40 times in the last week or so but the jokes on them my kids broke my home phone ages ago so the only way I know they call is my call display pops up on my tv my phone doesn't even ring. (I havn't replaced the home phone becuase I use my cell for everything.) Also not really sure why they would be calling my number as my phone is not in my name and the person whose name it is in claimed bankruptcy several years ago.

Report the harassment to the police services online complaint site. Make sure you give them all the phone numbers that the calls come in on. Sometimes they track down the scammers so they can have a "friendly" discussion and that usually shuts them down. If we all start doing this eventually it will stop.

You must work for them! Never pay a collection agency. Your debt has been paid! Ask them to meet you in court, with there contract with you. It will never happen.

This is a collection agency. Just ignore the calls, there desperate! They have no legal recourse.Do not pay them. No contract, no business. Simple as that. Lets change the world.

I decided to call the number back and an agent answered after a brief hold.  She asked for my number and politely searched their database but could not find it.  Then she asked for my name only and searched but it was also not found.  She prompted me if it could be another number and I remembered I had another number forwarded to this cell.  She searched that number and found it attached to someone else's collection info.  She changed their collection record for ?John Doe? to "number unknown".  If all of that was on the up and up, and I suspect it was, calls to my cell should stop.
