This phone number called my elderly mother -- hispanic male on phone.  Told my Mom that he was from "Windows" and that her computer was sending out virus or something at 1am that morning.  Being from "Windows" he needed to help her go through the steps so that no one could get into her bank account, etc.  Thank goodness my Mom couldn't get her mouse to work properly and he said he would call back the next morning,  My Mom was so upset that something was going to "get her" from Windows that she spent the entire next day calling all her banks, etc. to let them know someone was trying to hack into her accounts.  She finally got hold of me and I told her to give me the number and it sounded like a scam.  I told her not to answer her phone - they called back the next morning about 8 phone calls starting at 6am in the morning.  You can imagine how stressful this is for an elderly person not knowing that much about technology.  I may report this one to FBI.

Got a call today from 855-791-1189... offering me a $500 gift card to somewhere, for something (couldn't understand his english) i'm already half deaf, and the broken english just made it worse... I said no thank you and hung up... he called right back from 855-800-3144.. said that we must have gotten disconnected... i said no i hung up, and he said why? i said because i want you to stop bothering me and never to call me again... now that i have looked up these #'s i'm glad i got off the phone quick!!

I see this is not the first time this has happened, I recieved a call this evening 1-855-791-1189, I have reported these people to US FBI and US Homeland Security , and the British Foreign office. I asked them where Microsoft's Corprate Headquarters is where my PC is monitored for people like you. They said Massachusetts, Wrong!!!!!!!!!! FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD. Shut these people down. Very Un Understandible Indian Accent

i just received a call from this number so i called back, an indian man named Bradley Jones answered said my computer IP address had sent an error message to this company, i felt i was being mislead when i told him i could not access my computer at the moment because my friend was using it and he kept insisting it would only take a few minutes, i then said well i can call you back and he said i could not but that he could call me back i said ok call me around 3pm. im going to play them for a minute be like sir i need my IP address to go on could you please repeat my IP address and internet provider.

Called here, too, but blank silence when I answered.

Maybe the twerpy little pervert was too busy watching his boss feckhis wife, as mentioned by a previous person?!

Called me around noon Thanksgiving day. Said they received notification that my computer was  infected and a microsoft certified tech would help me repair if I allowed them to use remote assist. Even told what web site (though I couldn't understand the name through the (Indian?) accent) I could view to show their legitimacy. I told them no - I've never heard of you and don't trust you. He begged me to review their site but I hung up.

Got the same call from Indain guys and it was clear it was coming from an IP telephone so can be everywhere around the globe, telling my computer reported problem and they can help me.

I don't know how they got my name and phone numbre but they were right.  Be carefull.

Do not give them any info....Scammers!  They claimed they were a tech support group calling on behalf of my isp as My computer sent them an error message.  When asked what ISP i had, they could not provide an answer then they hung up.

I just got a call from this number.  A man named "Paul" said that he was calling because he had detected that my computer was downloading malicious software without my knowledge and he was here to help me.  He said he worked in "the IT department of a company."  Since English wasn't his first language it took him a long time to read this information to me.  When I told him that this was a scam, I wasn't interested and hung up, he called back right away.  I let it go to voicemail, but he didn't leave a message.

I got a call this morning around 10:06 and the international person said they was calling from the United States and they are informing me that I have a lot of spyware and malicious ware on my computer and only they can remove them. I ask them where they was calling from and she said United States Microsoft. I told her I never heard of someone calling to inform them of such thing and if they had a number so I can contact them. She said mam you cant call me back all I need to do is to get on my computer and she was going to help me remove those dangerous virus from my computer because my computer could crash at anytime. So I told her I do not own an computer she said mam just get on your computer because she didnt want me to be hack so then I hung up. She call me back from a similar number 1-855-791-1186 and said mam we got disconnected so now will you just sign on your computer and foolow these steps. I told her my husband work for the FBI and I will have him to investigate this and she then hung up on me. I did call the number back it went to a voicemail and it said to reach the operator dail 0 but when I did it disconnect the call every time......FRAUD, FRAUD, FRAUD I KNOW IT WAS A HACKER FROM THE INTERNATIONAL

I answered at my work and it was the Indian man asking for a Melanie? I said he had the wrong number and he preceded to ask for my information.  I declined saying I need to know who I was speaking too.  He would laughed and keep asking and saying i cannot live without a name.  Lastly he said you sound pretty, are you hot? I then hung up and reported it to my boss.  If they call again, my boss has conncetions to the local Police Department and he plans on reporting the number and seeing what they can do. It was the most rediculous call I have every had in my life.  I am hoping that was a one and done deal for my number. Best of luck to everyone else!

I've received one to three calls a day from this number for about two weeks now. No one has said anything when I pick up (then again I only wait about 2 seconds then hang up) but when I stopped picking up a new number started calling me I believe its the same people its only changed by one digit ending in 1186 same situation though, they call once or more times per day and haven't said a word.

Call received today.  Asian sounding femail voice advising me that my computer has been identified as having picked up some malware which is compromising the safety of my computing data.  Caller went on to assume that a non-sophisticated user of a computer like me might not be aware of this issue and extent of problem, so they want to take me through some steps to ensure that I address it.   I stopped her there and advised that despite being a lawyer at a computer company I have a surprising amount of knowledge about computers...she hung up.

One way to do it and not pay the $5 is to put the # in your contact list and select  "No Ring" in your ring tones. You can set several # under the contact name you give it. For instance I use "Scammer" and have the numbers under cellphone in there. When they call my screen lights up but no annoying ring and they are effectively ignored.

I got a  call from this number every day now for a week at different time.  WTH?

They have called twice today.  The first time I didn't answer, but the second time I did answer and got nothing by a buzzing in my ear.   Yet another number to add to my list of calls not to answer.  It will be nice to know who it is...

Just received a call from this number. I heard someone in the background caughing. Probably some oversees fraudster. If they call back I will just slam the phone down. Maybe they'll get the message if enough people do it!

This number keeps calling me and I feel it's not important if they don't leave a message. When I pockk up there is no one there and they just hang up. I just want to no who this is calling me every 5-10 min.

I have received two of these calls. When I ask them how they got my (unlisted) number, they hang up. I will be blocking this number... along with other numbers that just do these type of "mass" calls.

I just recieved a call from this number, an Middle Eastern sounding man told me that my phone number was placed on a list to be solicitated for a free $100 giftcard to walmart or any other retailer I was interested in. I stopped him mid sentence and told him I was not interested in the offer and would like to be removed from the list and to be never called again. He then proceeded to tell me that he was sorry but he could not remove my number from that list and that he would not stop calling. I informed him that my number was on a do-not-call list and was a private cell phone number and that by soliciting me he was breaking the law. He said that he was not and that they did not follow that law. I then said, that I wasn't interested in any of the bullsh*t they were selling. He never changed his tone and simply said, "well then, what kind of sh*t would you be interested in?" I then demanded to talk to a supervisor, immediately. He then calmly, without changing his tone again goes, "I'm sorry but he's busy f*cking his wife" ... I gasped and hung up the phone at that point. I called my cell phone carrier and asked what to do, they suggested to either change my number or add a $5/month fee to my line to block specific numbers. If I get any more calls like this, I will consider option number 2. I'm appalled, and it looks like it's not really a prank phone call, but more a fraud call looking for account info. When I refused to even listen he got hostile. I can't believe this happened, I feel so violated!

Someone keeps calling me and he will not say who he is just that they have money for me and want to put it in my account, I then hang up but they call back,I think someone just wants my account no.

Just got a call from this number. They left a voice mail. When I checked it there was a long silence then someone speaking a language other than English. I didn't understand a word.

I've received several calls from this number and similar numbers starting with the same area code and beginning digits. The one person specifically asked for someone who used to have this phone number who I know,  I'm not sure how they received my number or new her name. As soon as I asked who it was they hung up on me.

Called me three times today also! :-( didnt answer, and they never left a voicemail.

No idea who they are, but have called 3 times today.
