Yeah.....yada yada yada... These people have a heavy Indian accent.  They that they calling from the "Computer Maintenance Department" and they are not selling anything (allegedly).  They "say" they are calling because they have received some type of information from your computer.  Then they ask you to sit in front of your computer....and turn it on.....(well if you received information from my computer..wouldn't it already be on).  Then I ask what company is this and sound like he said "technvideo from the computer maintenance."  Then he goes on again that we are not selling anything (then why are you calling me), we just want the people to be aware that junk files can slow your computer down and we want people to know how to get rid of the junk files.  I'm the IT guy in my office....so I tell him,  "uh....I think I know how to do that".  The phone goes silent....then he starts up again about how they arent selling anything....they want people to be aware of junk files that can slow your system -."  I cut him off and to throw him off and test his knowledge I said, "I have a core i5". The phone goes silent again... I said "hello.." He says, "Um...yeah............. a what?"  I repeated again, "I have an intel core i5".... The phone goes silent for the next 30 seconds, and then I hang up. lol.
Bottom line this is a scam...I use BitDefender Antivirus, Comodo Firewall, and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware....I also use "Common Sense" about what websites I visit.  You get call from these people, "Just say thank you for calling....but I'm not interested, and I will be disconnecting the line. goodbye" :-)

Just got a call from this number. A guy with a thick accent, I could hardly understand him.  He said he was from Microsoft and our windows had been sending him error messages and I had Malware on my computer.  He would put me through the steps of fixing it for me.  I put my husband on the phone and he knew it was a scam.  So he told the guy we didn't have a computer hooked up to the internet, the guy then hung up. We tried calling back and there was no answer.

Also just received a call from 855-791-1191 and a heavy Indian accent guy told me that my computer was sending error reports and he could help fix it.  I knew it was a scam but let the guy do his thing and he had me go to my computer, click on the lower left (Windows Start) while holding down the "R" key, then wanted me to type in a web address.  I told him that he was full of crap and told him that I would report him then hunh up.  He even tried to call back that b@stard!  DO NOT LET THIS LOSER SCAM YOU!  He will take control of you computer and steal your personal files and information!

The caller (with an accent from the Subcontinent) told me that my computer was currently downloading a virus. He said, "You have Windows, right?" Then he asked if I was near my computer. I told him he had the wrong number and hung up.

The phone number comes up as "unavailable." When I hit redial, there was a strange sounding ring tone and no answer....

Same situation as above... they wanted remote access to my computer. I told them to go ahead and try, since they knew so about about my infected computer they should already know the IP address and how to log in to my "internet database"... LOL

Got a call this evening from the place. I was told I have a Virus on my computer. Voice was Indian or P***. I asked him which one, I own 1000 computers. HE said here let me show you give me your IP

At this point I wished a virus to him and that the God Bhagavad Gita rained pestilence on him and his family.

I received a call today from this number.  The man had an Indian accent and it sounded like a telemarketing boiler room.  He said his last name was "Jones" and he was calling from PC Output and they worked with Microsoft.  They were informed through the "internet" that I should not use my computer because there was a virus on it that would kill my hard drive and motherboard.  He instructed me to go turn on my computer, yeah right.

I asked him how do I know who you really are?  Did he really think I was going to allow someone who called me to have remote access to my computer?  I asked why when he called my caller ID showed "unavailable" while other business calls show the name of the business?  I asked for his number, he told me 855-791190.  I asked wasn't the number a little short for me to call India, and I did not think his last name was Jones, he hung up ;)

Calling Attorney General's Office tomorrow.  She loves a good bone to chew on.

They want to SELL you a service to clean your PC once they show you your computers event log (event logs always have errors and warnings in them). They ask you to go to a site that allows them to enter your PC remotely and they install malware. Its a total scam, but if you want to be sure, or just mess with them, ask them "what is the IP address they re getting the data from?" If you do not know your (outside) IP address, go to whatismyip.com to see it. They would have to know your IP address to tie the "errors" to your computer.

A man with an Indian accent called my home phone and informed me that they have received internet data that I have malware on my computer. He told me that he was paid by my ISP to help me clean it up. He wanted me to talk to their help desk to have them show me "in front of you own eyes" that this is malware on my computer. I asked how he knew this, he said when I log on to the computer, this sends out information. I told him that if that was the case, then they are responsible for the malware, since it is giving them information.

I then asked for the name of their company and where they are located. He hung up.

Just got a call from this joker,

Same story as the recent posts. I'm instantly suspicious of someone calling from a strange number claiming my computer has malware, especially since I keep a close watch on any sort of malware-like activity.

Once he got to the point where he was spewing out a web address, I cut him off and informed him that if he calls my number again, I will be turning him over to the authorities.

I got a call from 855-791-1191 yesterday. Pretty much the same spiel as has been reported above - a man with a thick Indian accent telling me how they have detected "errors" on my computer in the "internet database" and that they are a "Microsoft Certified" person, and they want me to sit at my computer while they instruct me how to remove the "infection" on it. I would like to have wasted his time for a while and seen exactly where his scam was going, but I had more important things to do. So I told him I was a professional network and computer engineer and I knew full well he was feeding me a line of BS. He hung up real quick after that. I do wonder what information they are trying to extract.

I had a call today from the number in question and a woman told me that I had a thing, she did not say virus, on my computer that would make it crash. She was very hard to understand but it was easy to get that it was some kind of a scam, a new one I never heard before. She never got to the part where she wanted my personal informations because I kept asking her to spell the name of her website and it took a while and was a little mean but rather funny.
But there is nothing funny about these people as far as I can understand and they have to be stopped.

Just got the call from some Indian sounding guy.  When I answered the phone there was the tell tale pause before he started talking and he tried to tell me he was from some online computer something and that there were errors coming from my computer.  I laughed at him, asked him how stupid he thought I was, that this was  a company that had an IT department, to remove our number from their list and never call here again.

I got the same call just a few minutes ago. Indian accent, male, spoke poor English. He called my cell phone (I just got it like two days ago!) He said he had been receiving "software error messages from my computer" He said he worked for some kind of "Tech Support for Microsoft". He told me my computer has been hacked and I need to work with him to resolve the issue. I questioned him how he got my cell number and how on earth my brand new cell number could possibly be connected to my computer. His response "Our research department is very good."  I then replied "You're full of s***. Don't call me anymore!"
