I was getting calls from this number Every day around 1pm I looked them up on this website and as suggested I Called them back and Added my name to the DO_NOT call list.......... Now they are calling me 5 times a day!!!!

Just called the number and I was able to be placed on the do not call list through the automated system. Thanks!

This is an 855 number which means its one of the new toll free numbers; which also means that every call recieved by them they are charged by thier carrier... which means we should all call the living crap out of this number so they stop freaking calling us.

I tried doing that, but it does not work.
I still continue to receive call after 2 weeks

I opted for the no call list and the recording said it would take 30 days to become effective.  The frequency of the calls jumped 3 fold

They call me several times a day. Sometimes late at night. They never leave a message. Thanks for this page!

THEY WON'T STOP CALLING ME.

This company TLK called my number, I didn't answer, then called back, pressed "2" for DNC list.  They said it would take 30 days.

Comcast has been upping internet speeds across the board within their existing price tiers.  You probably would've gotten the same speed if you'd just waited for them to roll out the next update.

855 801 2179 calls occasionally but never leaves a message. I called back today and it was "TLK Group on behalf of Comcast with a promotional offer." Option 2 puts you on a do not call list (supposedly, we'll see) within 30 days.

I just received a call from TLK Company.  I was also asked to verify name, address, phone number.  She proceeded to ask me for the last 4 numbers of my social.  I then asked why she needed the information.  She said it was to make sure I received the right promotion.  I asked her if she was an employee of Comcast and she said she was an employee of the TLK Company on behalf of Comcast.  So I told her I will call Comcast myself to inquire about any promotions in my area.

I will add this number to my block numbers on my cell phone account.

Same thing happened to me as Janet. I missed the call, and called it back out of curiosity. It was supposedly Comcast for a promo or I could be put on the Do Not Call list (I'm already registered on the national do not call list). It warned that it would take so many days (I forget how many). I felt like like they called even more, but it actually has subsided. The last call was on Saturday, but today is now Wednesday, and a brand new number is now calling me. Great . . . . I'm not going to try to even bother getting on their supposed do not call registry.

Got a few calls and read the posts here, and posted here, called and opted out. Recording said up to a month before they remove my # from lists. THEN started getting calls EVERY business day. @#*&ers!!!!

This is Comcast. They are running a promotion and offered to upgrade my internet speed for a small price increase. I agreed to it, and they did not require credit card or other personal information, other than the last 4 digits of my SSN, my name, and my home address.

Everyday, yes everyday I receive a call from 855-801-2179.  The first couple of times I answered, I was connected to a recording.  They don't identify themselves on the recording, and I don't talk to recordings.

Have been getting calls from this number but not picking up. Finally checked it out and read these comments. Called the number and opted out of further calls. The recording was quite polite and offered apologies for any inconvenience the calls may have caused.

I've been ignoring this phone number for a while now. Just read some of the above comments and decided to give the phone number a call back. A voice recording comes on and says that they are calling you to talk to you about a promotional offer from ComCast. They give you the option of talking to a representative or going on their do not call list.

I've been getting this call for a while now and a few days ago I decided to pick up, So I answered in the most unexpected weird voice I could do. They instantly hung up and I haven't been getting a call ever since

Was it an automated call? Autodialed and asking you to wait for an agent. This is illegal whether you do business with comcast or not. You could go to the national do not call list, www.donotcall.gov , and file a complaint. They will ask for your number, their number and confirm that they called you and hit them with an $11,000 fine per occurrence. Getting even is totally better than getting mad. They did it to me twice in two days.

Can you give us an update what happened next?

After ignoring this number 3 times, I looked them up. After reading Sasha's comment, above, I also tried calling back. Their menu has two options, the second of which is to be added to their Do Not Call list. I added myself to their no-call list, which took about 20 seconds.

I got a call from this number and it sounded very fishy The woman calling had a fake sounding southern accent. She was pushy and did not sound like a legitimate salesperson. I am glad I did not continue the conversation!

got a call tonight from this number. said they were with comcast. i asked them to provide me with my own account number, mailing address and everything, which he did. then i told him i do not approve of being called so late at night.

Caller I.D. says from Cambodia. No message left. Added to reject list

I got a call from this number today. I was stupid enough to give them my name, address and last 4 digit of my SSN. Not sure what will happen next. I already put an alert on my credit report. Does anyone has an experience with this?

8558012179.  Don't leave any phone numbers online for insurance quotes.  I got a online health insurance quote.  After I gave my number online for a few seconds there's calls coming in non-stop.  I just reiceived a call from 8558012179 it was said to be calling Comcast.  There is a promotion going on and blah blah blah.  I think its a fake.  Comcast wouldn't be calling at 19:30.
