I have received several calls from Jones & Myers and every time its a different number, they keep leaving messages in my voice mail because I don't answer calls from (888) (855) or any other 8? numbers because I know it to be the scam numbers.  They callers are also diferent every time but keep leaving the same case number.  I call back but only get a recording asking me to leave my name phone number and the case number for someone to call me back.  I dont leave any information, I figuer if they want to speak with me they will call me back, "which they usually do" but again I don't answer.  I have spoken with my attorney general and all they can say is that charges need to be filed in the state which the calls are coming from.  Now these scammers know that and they do not call any one in the state of which they operate from.  I know this is an incovinience for us consumers, but unless you actually get a document in the mail that is certified and authenticated and that you indeed owe that debt, just keep ignoring these scammers and eventually they will go away.  Also if you do get said document first try and contact the original company that held the debt and you may make some type of payment arrangement with them, and if you do get a document in the mail that is legit please look at the date that your debt went into default, and check with your state fair debt collection, the reasonable amount of time of recovering a bad debt may have expired, and if so PLEASE DO NOT PAY.  These people pray on consumers unware of the legal steps that need to be taken to collect a bad debt, and will harass us until they are put out of business.  Hope this helps clear some of the questions you may have.

Truth is....you probably did take out loans...but it was years ago and more than one agency is probably calling you. That is because the people you take the loans out with, sell your information for pennies on the dollar to at least 10-15 collections (scam) agencies and all of them will at some point contact you. All the stories will sound the same....jail...prison...charges...warrants....NONE OF IT WILL HAPPEN!!!! If you want to know what REAL agency has your loan, contact whoever you took the loan out with. They will be happy to give you the CORRECT information.

I used to work for this company. They are low life debt buyers that pay their employees with worthless checks theirselves. Then when they get asked about why a "payroll" check was returned, they say they will give you the $ in a couple of weeks. I had to go so far as to hire an attorney and I tell you, when they are done with this company, they won't have a leg to stand on. They tell their employees to make threats and the people running and operating it are inexperienced theirselves. DO  NOT PAY THEM! Just do your research. They will make blank threats and say things will happen, but payday loans are NOT illegal and legal action can NOT come from you giving your banking information to obtain the loan. You will NOT go to jail and you will DEFINATELY not have a warrant. If anything, they need to have a warrant issued on them for not paying their employees!!!!

Rec'd a call this morning from Nathan Davenport stating that he was calling from the Fraudulent Crimes Division.  He stated that I or my attorney need to call him back immediately.  He called from 904-619-7452, but left a call back number of 855-809-7890.  He will be waiting a long while for my call back.  I wish these scammers would just go away.

I rec'd the same calls back in July.  When I searched the number, it came back as an apartment complex.  This person is a total scam artist.  I never returned her call and never will.  She'll be waiting a long time (I hope in hell) before she gets a call from me.  If the debt they claim I owe is legitimate, then they will follow up with something in writing along with proof that they own the debt and can legally collect.  None of this has ever transpired.  So, in the mean time, they can kiss my a--.

And to "stop the calls and get your money back," you have to give them money, don't you? How much do they charge? Are they another scam? Are you a shill?

Legit collectors per section 809 of the FDCPA http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre27.pdf *must* tell you at initial contact, or send you paperwork within 5 days of initial contact, the following:
1. $amount of debt,
2. name of the current creditor (which may differ from the original creditor who might have sold your debt),
3. a statement that that debt will be assumed to be valid unless you dispute in writing within 30 days,
4. a statement that that if you do dispute in writing within 30 days, the collector must mail you written verification of the debt,
5. a statement that if you ask the collector in writing within 30 days, the collector must send you the name and address of the original creditor if it's different from the current creditor.
If you don't get the 5 disclosures, orally or in writing (you do not have to ask for them, the FDCPA requires collectors to provide them), treat the collector like you would any SCAMMER.
Has the statute of limitations for your state http://www.fair-debt-collection.com/SOL-by-State.html expired on your debt? If expired, don't pay.
Collectors generally have to be licensed by your state to practise (collect debt) in your state and you can find out by calling your state Attorney Generals Office. Ask if a license is required and does this collector have one. If not licensed, don't pay and file a complaint.
Read useful debt-collection FAQs from the FTC here http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre18.shtm
Be aware that scammers are using bought/hacked/phished loan application data to extort payments for fictitious debts from victims and victims' families and friends.

I have received a call from 855-809-7890 from someone identifying themselves as "Donna". She said she had received a file from somewhere unnamed, naming me as a "person of interest" and that I (or my attorney) had to respond to her by 2PM today, or the case would be held for " pending action". She said it came from "the city of Cameron", although I live in Cameron County, not a city named Cameron. She repeatedly said to call them before 2PM, and when hanging up she said "I look forward to hearing from you, and good luck"

these people have been in contact with me as well, I can't find any info, web site, nothing. the only thing they seem to have is a facebook page at JonesMyersandAssociates. I called some of the numbers on this page, like their recruitment line at 904-415-1363. It was some girl's cell phone, I also googlemapped their adress at 3540 DUNN AVENUE SUITE 103, Jacksonville, FL 32218. there is nothing there, only a road in a residential area. The verbiage that they use, the fact that I can't even find a site is suspicious. They switched their payment methods every week, they did a paypal link, then a person to person moneygram wire or depositing into a regions bank or bank of america account. I also did see that a law firm http://cardandglenn.com/ represented someone against JMA for FDCPA violations. While this may indicate that they do exist, they may not be an organization that flies straight.. for the time being I will not pay them another cent until I can get more info. They're threatening to have me charged for felony bad check writing for $151 aka unpaid payday loan.

I also have received a call from these people.  They are calling from a landline from Florida.  It is a scam because I have looked up the law firm of Jones and Myers and can't find anything.  Has anyone called back to see what exactly they have up their sleeves so to speak.  They say they have given several opportunities to resolve the matter and so and so forth. I agree who are they?

I have received several calls from this number and 904-329-3042, both of which came up Jones and Myers. The message was left by a guy who said his name was Dwayne from the 855-809-7890 at ext 1. He is claiming that someone has filed a formal complaint against me. I know this is a fraud because I have no dealings with anyone who could or would file a formal complaint against me. I have also received calls from other numbers telling me that I owe pay-day loans which I have not paid and this is certainly not true.

Received a call from this number purporting to be a law firm. The woman said her name was "Meredith Baxter" from Jones Myers & Associates re an "affidavit" filed against me in their office. She called this a "courtesy call" she is making before filing something garbled in the local courthouse. Anyone ever heard of them or what/who they are?
