this is FRAUD!!!! donnot give them any information! I have contacted our attorney general already on this matter. I received the same phone calls to the same thing

I received a call yesterday at work from Eric Johnson he started telling me he was from dutchess county and wanted to know where I wanted my papers served for a debt I owed.  I asked what debt he said you didn't know would you like a chance to call the company and find out what's going on before we serve you.  I said sure he have me the claim number and phone number.  I also gave him my cell I didn't want him calling me at work.  I googled the number as I always do now being people are always trying to scam me.  I have learned to trust no one especially when they start using these scar tactics no court is going to call and ask where do you want your papers served or ask if you want a chance to call the company.  Today I had to step out if work for a whole came back I had I message Eric Johnson had called for me to call him back at 855 813 8402 now yesterday he said he was from the court near my home town today he wants me to call him at the company he supposedly said I owed money to what a scam.  How do people live with themselves doing this to people.  It's sick!!! Please don't listen or give into them!!

This guy would not tell me the name of the company. His first call makes it sound like I wasn't informed he was going to call me. Asked me to call a number regarding a case number, then says he will call me again to deliver papers in 30 minutes.

He tries to sound ligit, but sounds fishy at best. I guess it could be a scam. Blah, blah, blah........

Adding to Gunnar's comments - do not call that number.  This is 99.9999% a scam to con money from you.

You can NOT be served by phone! Nor can you be legally notified of anything via e-mail. In only a couple of states can you be served via registered mail.
A summons will be served in person. Sometimes by a sheriffs deputy, in some places by a licensed & bonded process server. Your caller is using a very old intimidation tactic. DEMAND a notice of validation be mailed to you. NOT an e-mail or fax! As per federal regulation under the FDCPA. When your caller refuses, or starts to bluster, case closed! Your caller is a junk/zombie debt collector, or a fraud, trying to collect on an invalid, time-barred or bogus debt.

Just received a phone call giving me this number to call with a claim#, anyone know if this is legally binding to serve you via phone? Thought they had to directly hand you the documents...waiting to call the 855 number until I know for sure so I don't get myself stuck agreeing to something accidentally

I also got a call from Frank Mason with a claim number saying a claim has been filed against me and this phone call was my "official notification"

This person called me at work. Said he was Frank Mason. Said he had documents for me.
