I can't believe I am reading all of this about Pass to Paradise. I guess... I fail for the same scam as everyone else did? We had did the same thing! My husband attended a seminar back in Feb. 2012 with the agreement of receiving a "free cruise" after mailing a $99 processing fee and of course paying the taxes, port charges and upgrades for this cruise. Our cruise was not to set sail until Feb. 2013 but I guess, we won't be going. I have tried emailing this company 3 times this month (December 2012) regarding our cruise for February 2013 and have not received any emails or NOTHING from them. Well, I just made my report to the BBB and I hope they will do something about this and hopefully shut there website down and there email . So they will not scam anyone else out of $100 bucks !!!  Learned my Lesson ! I was so looking forward to my cruise this February. This really sucks !

Went through the same "song & dance" with passtoparadise as the rest of you. My cruise date was to be this month, Oct. 2012. Never heard another word from them after they got my $99. What I have done (since it's the ONLY way I could figure out to get a message to them) is go to their website & go to registration & after entering my name & other contact info. along with my voucher #, I told them I want my money back or I will be contacting the Attorney Gen., BBB, P. O. Fraud Dept, CLIA (official travel agency for cruise industry). I just typed this info. on the lines provided along with the info. they asked for to register. I'm going to do this every day (maybe several times a day) til I hear from them.  Also, I called 1-877-455-3253 & talked to Kisha who said she would contact passtoparadise & give them my complaint.  She wouldn't give me any contact info. for them except the email address. I think she is with the Direct Buying Co. that gave the presentation where you get the cruise voucher in the first place. I believe they are part of this scam & I'll be calling her every day too.  I suggest we all do so.

This happened to my mom also. She sent in her $99 for a free cruise and she got an email from CHeryl who said she would hear from them 30 days prior to cruise. THe cruise is in 18 days and she still has not heard anything. Do you remember the name of the people giving  the presentation?
Thanks.

I am going through the same thing that Fred is going through except my cruise is on 21 October.  It took filing a complaint through ScamBook to get their attention.  I got an email from them once about setting up cruise and have not heard back from them since.  It's a scam

NOW WE ARE WITHIN 30 DAYS AND THEY HAVE STOPPED ANSWERING MY E-MAILS.
ANOTHER SCAM, AND THEY HAVE COVERED THEIR TRACKS WELL.

My husband and I got the same card in the mail back in January 2012.  We picked the Carnival Magic departing out of Galveston on October 7, 2012.  They said they were going to contact us 30 days before departure.  I had a hard time getting them to confirm but they finally did yesterday.  It is not free though.  If you do not have access to Interline Partner rates for a Cruise then this is a very good way to get a really good cabin at a cheap rate.  This saved us about $600 and they said the voucher value was $1000 but I have access to Interline rates so I could have been confirmed and booked for months.  I won't make this mistake again.

Just called the number referrenced to check why noone has contacted me 30 days before my cruise.  Was told it was not a working number.  What do we need to do to get these crooks convicted of a scam?  My cruise was the result of going to a presentation by a company pushing a membership  in a buying club and presented by a "retired policeman".  $99.00----my bad but also my indignation will promote me to find and get these scoundrels prosecuted.

this is so not true Jacob, no FREE cruise.  Our quote was $1,333, they said they would pay $300 of it, leaving us with over $1000 to pay.  Port fees & taxes are only $300 for 2 people.

If you don't know whether it's a scam, please find an adult and ask him or her.

I came to see your question too late but hope that you did get through with Cruise Gift and had fun with your cruise in November.  If you did, would you be kind to let us know?  I did the same thing you did (with filing with BBB) and got the response and now in the process of getting a confrmation to get on the cruise in Feb 4th.

Has anyone actually gone on the cruise? and how much did you end up paying? it sounds like you might save some money if you are persistent. But the people that sent the dates haven't replied as to whether they got it or not.

Wow; I am glad I checked this site before I sent in my $99.  I also talked to Cheryl complaining that the voucher was already expired.  She said, don't worry just sent in your money and put "per Cheryl".  It's interesting to see the different names, such as "Pass to Paradise".  Mine says, Cruise Gift or Cruise Promo.  If you read the Terms and Conditions there are so many caveats that you could be paying more for the cruise than if you shopped around yourself.  What with the blackout dates and special fees for certain lines; it's crazy.

So glad we have the internet to check on these people.
Thanks

I went to the same happened to me in Auguest.  Three months later they send a registration Form which is only good for 21 days and it's already expired, and they want $99 fee that goes toward deposit of cruise.  I sent them a nasty letter with the form back, got a letter from Pass To Paradise, from Cheryl, Promotion Liasion.  What buisness doesn't have a phone number?  Don't fall for this!

We got the card, and went to the meeting. We mailed it in and got another packed in the mail telling us we need to send in a $99 registration fee. Because we are dinks and like to gamble, we did. A few weeks later we got a Cruise Voucher Request packet that had us declare which Cruise we wanted. The "Free Cruise" only applies for Sept. or Oct, and you have to give them at least 60 days notice, and you have to use it with in a year, AND you will receive the voucher in October. So there is no free cruise, but we are hoping for a seriously discounted one. We picked out our cruise and are now waiting for confirmation, and any extra fees that might be associated with it.

It seems like the company is legit, if you are willing to put in the time and effort. I'm trying to get a hold of them now to receive confirmation of receipt of my Voucher Request. I'll let you guys know what happens.

We are having the same problem.  We went to the presentation in February, sent the $99 registration fee back in March along with all other requested information.  Our cruise date is supposed to be 11/27/11 and Cruise Gift is now not responding to my emails (I have sent at least 6 in the last week).  Seems this is a big rip off.

The "complimentary" or "free" cruse is not free in any respect.  "[P]rocessing fees ... are the responsibility of the recipient."

They tell you that you have one year in which to take the cruise, but outside a very narrow range of available dates and ports, then there are additional fees and "upgrades" that apply.

What a fool I was for taking my time to go sit through a presentation for a company that wasn't affiliated with Carnival Cruise, when there was NEVER any intent to provide a "complimentary" or "free" cruise.  The Texas Attorney General should move in and shut these people down.

Some lawyer should file a class action lawsuit, but the odds are that Cruise Promo and Cruise Gift are assumed names for an undercapitalized corporation or limited liability company and that the promoters are being paid salaries and bonuses and you'll never recoup a dime from these scammers.

You have to pay a $99 processing fee at the very least.  That is not "free."  What a ripoff.

Don't be the sucker that I was.  This is a deceptive trade practice if ever there was one.
