Hi. I was getting same problem last two weeks. They were calling my family and me saying I commited fraud and other stuff. Said I was going to get arrested in 24hrs. Don't give them any info. They would not give me their address. They did this to me a year ago as well but under a different number and name. Then it was quiet for a year and now they are back at it. The number that calls me is 855-256-4037. URG is the name.

I keep getting these calls about a debt I owe th he 1st number that they told me to call back was 1-866-439-3870 and now the number is 1-866-713-2292 its for the same company URG offices.  When I talked to the lady she said I owed a debt to ACE cash advance from 2008 and that I need to set up payment arrangements for it and that I now owed $ 937.25 and that the original loan was for $350.00 dollars.  I told her she was crazy I wasn't paying them ##it because she was full or ###it because if she got her information straight was a legit company collecting a debt she would get the amount of the original loan correct.  Then I told her she would be hearing from my lawyer and then she hung up on me.

We were getting these calls from another company using the same tactics, I told them a police report had been filed as well as one with the state AG, the calls stopped. Now, they're back, the same tactics but they're calling my father & mother in law, even my brother in law saying they will arrest my husband. My brother in law doesn't even live in the same state as us! I've filed more reports from the # 866-938-2863. This is ridiculous & I'm pi**ed!

I keep getting calls from these people.  I owe no money to them or anyone else.  I've asked to have my number removed at least 5 times but I keep getting called for a person whom I don't even know.  Today i asked for a supervisor and was told she was like a supervisor and refused to let me talk to anyone else.  These calls have been bothering me for about three years now as have the letters I receive from them in the name of Brooke Brown, who I have no knowledge of.

No ! check out  the URG Litigation site  and read all the post from other people. They threaten me  with serving me papers and having me arrested. So for I've received three phone calls, two  at work , and  one at home. The first call I had  30 minutes to call this number (855-730-8943), I called the number out of curiousity and each time I got a busy signal. The last time they called my boss took the message and he took it seriously cause told him I were going to be serve papers by the authorities and be arrested. Well two weeks has gone by and nothing has happen yet.

Threaten to send authorities to my home and job to serve me papers and have me arrested. But I tried to call the number I was given, but each time I called I got a busy signal. I think a legitimate company would have someone on the other end ,don't you think? Oh! and the number I was given is 855-730-8943

I too just received a message from URG.  They contacted my ex-husband and my 18 year old son and told them that I was "going to be served papers at home and at work.  I had worked with a payday loan company that gave them 90 days to respond to which they never did.  I also was hung up on once I started asking questions.

1-855-672-5978 was the number from which I was contacted.

To Tammi and the others who have posted their problems with these types of callers. They have no legal means to collect on a debt - even if it is valid. The best way to handle these "degenerates" who make these calls is to NEVER, EVER talk to them. They can't intimidate you or cause you anxiety if you don't answer their calls. Trying to contact them only makes matters worse and also let's them know that they have been successful in making contact. Just download any of the numerous apps that are on the market that allow you to "block" these numbers from coming through and your problem is solved. Just remember, NEVER, EVER speak to these people!!!   Good luck.

The caller "URG" stands for United Receivables Group.  Here is a link to their BBB report:  http://www.bbb.org/central-georgia/business-r ... -macon-ga-35988

If you believe they are violating the Fair Debt Collection Act, then you should file a complaint with your state Office of Attorney General, Consumer Protection.

It appears that I have (had?) the same basic problems with the vast majority of folks who have taken the time and effort to post here.  When this number called, I never picked up; and, similar to the experiences of the other 'victims,' no one ever left a message.  I am pretty sure that if it is indeed legitimate, they are likely after my ex-wife, and I need absolutely nothing to do with her.  Long story short - I simply logged on to the website of my wireless provider and had this number blocked. Easy, peezy, lemon squeezy.  The block will last for ninety days; if after that time I wish to reblock, I can certainly do so.

I told them that I did not have a payday loan and not to call back. The calls continued so I then told them that I would only pay them if they sent me the bill by mail and to give me an physical address to send the money in the mail. The man said I had to speak to his supervisor so he put me on hold for the supervisor and I was hung up on.Apparently it is a scam and they do not want any paper trails.Do not give these people money over the phone.

This number called my cell phone leaving a voice mail looking for my husband stating that he was under investigation for a bad check and for fraud against a financial institution.  "Tonya" stated that I had one hour to return the call or papers would be served and she gave a case number.  I ignored the call, then they called again the next day so I returned the call.  The auto answer said URG and I got transferred to the most hateful woman I have ever dealt with on the phone.  I asked her for the address of her company and why she was calling?  She refused to tell me so I told her to remove my number from her call list cause I was not who she was looking for.  SHe asked how long I had my cell phone, then she asked what my name was?  I told her it didn't matter, not to call me anymore.  She said she could do what ever she wanted to do becuase "she used my husbands name" was under criminal investigation.  I asked her what company the investigation was under and she got even more hateful.  I asked her to calm down that I knew my rights and then she hung up on me.  So I filed a complaint with the FTC.  THey told me that company cannot harass or threaten a customer in any matter and they have to divulge the source of the dept.  They also have to give the customer the right to dispute the debt so they opened a case against them.  Well, now the FTC website is unavailable due to the government shutdown so I don't know what progress they made, but I am receiving calls from them again today but they are not leaving a voice mail.  We have no depts with anyone and have never written a bad check so not sure what is going on.  I'm to the point where I want to change my phone number.  Hope this gets resolved soon but I refuse to talk to these people without seeing something in writing.

I suggest we keep them on speed dial and call them whenever we have a free moment. If they pick up it costs them money, and ties up their phone line so they cant call out as much and harrass others. Tell them PappaSmurf is out to get them.

BECAUSE - For 2 years now I have been receiving calls from this and other numbers, by URG (Which has portrayed itself as a debt collector, notification service, and a law office). I am not the party they are trying to reach nor have I ever heard of her. They have been asked to stop, remove me from their list, do not call, stop the harrassing calls, etc.

I have asked multiple 20+ times to be removed from their list, that I am the new owner of this number, I do not nor have I ever known a "Rachel Amato" who they keep calling for in person and with an autodialer. I have been threatened, and sworn at a number of times by these people. I even sent a fax request in to be removed from their list that a person working for them provided to me in late January 2013.

Their auto dialer message system asks you to press a #? if you are not the person sometimes, and disconnects you. If you want to speak to a person you can press 0. I did this and after 2 rings it disconnected. I called back and gave my name and starting to state that "I have been receiving harrassing calls from th...."
And that as far as I got before (Mike) slammed the phone down and hung up on me!!
I have called back and let it ring for 17 minutes and no one answers.

I am hereby filing a formal complaint of harassment and violation of FCC calling and collection codes. I would like a confirmation of, as I intend to file a civil suit against them in short order. I am a patient man, but this is my business cell phone, and this is now costing me to much in minutes, money, and time.

Sincerely,
Matthew "PappaSmurf" Honeycutt

The message left on my phone was if I did not call back and provide a statement one would be provided for me.  How is that possible.  What kind of people are these.  I know I don't owe anything and I am reporting them to the FBI.

I just got one of these calls with a male voice in a very threatening manner that I need to speak with them and give a Statement on Legal Matters I'm criminally responsible for. I had 30 minutes to call back or they would seek Legal action against me.  One, I have a lawyer for any legal affairs. Second, I don't like bullies and if you want to push me around, better be able to stand your ground.  Enough said!

I received a call from them as well and I informed her that I have successfully sued two bogus collection agencies who used bully tactics to try and get money and if they wanted to be next then I would suggest that they remove me from their call log.  She wanted to say something and started to but I guess she thought about it and didn't want to take the chance..  if anyone is interested in the attorny that I used please let me know once I let the hear them messages that were saved on my v/m i got way more than the amount that the company said I owed Khron and Moss out of California they were the best.
