TOTAL SCAM!!!
Here is what I've discovered about this company since they contacted me an hour ago (looking for my ex-husband, whom I married 22 years ago, and divorced 2 years later--both are matters of public record and, thus, easily vetted ) :
A) No legitimate business by the company name the rep days they work for even exists in Corona/Ontario/ wherever, California from where they claim to operate.

B) they claim to be lawyers working for a firm and are going to file suit against you for money you owe some vague business you may or may not have used many years ago. They are not lawyers, there is no claimant looking for money you owe. You don't owe money.
In order to obtain info about this caller, I had my husband call them back and interrogate them. He's been a litigator (i.e. trial lawyer) for 30 years and knows how to tell if someone is a lawyer or even at all associated with a law firm. He said these people are complete BS.

Not lawyers, and there is no lawsuit.

C) Their entire goal is to get you to:

1) verify your name and give them your address (they say they need it because you are going to be served. They might give you some bogus address, and have you "update" the info they have on you.

2) give them your date of birth (they make up some other date and ask you to verify it, because most people will say, "no, mine is......". )

3) give them your social security number (they will also claim to have that and ask you to just "verify it"...you'd be surprised how many people end up giving their SSN to people who phish for info this way).

4) possibly facilitate a credit card transaction for X amount of dollars to "settle the claim" against you. (That's called the icing on the cake for them, since their whole point is to steal your identity and use your credit cards).

D) they will never contact your HR department. They don't even know where you work. They say this because it makes them sound more "official."

E) They call your family members, friends, etc. because:

1) they want you to think they've had a hard time tracking you down, which lends credence to the "validity" and "direness" of the situation.

2) most people will be so embarrassed by having their family and friends contacted for this kind of thing that they will want to settle the issue asap and, thus, not think clearly about the info they are giving the scammers.

E) since they called looking for a husband I married 22 years ago and divorced 20 years ago in the city of Orlando, they are CLEARLY accessing public records to try to find VICTIMS.

F) They never identify their "firm" (because you can check the legitimacy of businesses via Google) and when you press them for the name of their firm they will give you some generic name with either letters as the name or generic but serious sounding words. (The one we were given was West Point Group--really? West Point? But it makes us think of West Point the military college, because it makes them seem so serious, important, and most of all...LEGIT).

The company they claim to work for doesn't exist, BUT is likely the name of a legit financial services group that has a website and is located in whatever city they claim to be in). The fact they use the name of an existing financial services group or law firm is clever--it's supposed to make you think they are legitimately in the finance or legal fields, when they aren't.

G) their numbers come up restricted because they purposely block them (something no CREDIBLE "firm" would ever do) and they have call back numbers that are generic toll-free numbers, which anyone can easily and anonymously order and pay for online.

H) There is no debt case against you. There is no complaint. They give you the case number to make you think it's a real case.

Try asking them information about their business, who they are, etc. Debt collectors have to identify the company of which they work on the behalf. Lawyers can be screened via both federal and state bar associations. Real lawyers have law licenses with corresponding numbers on them for identification verification. Real lawyers almost always know their law license number. Ask them their full name, in what state they are licensed, and what their license number is. You won't get one because they are bogus.

Bottom line:
clever scammers, but scammers nonetheless. DON'T GIVE THESE PEOPLE ANY PERSONAL INFO!!

he called back threatened with a summons........really.

I had this Damian Brown call me from an Anonymous (Private Number) claiming that I was in process for a Law Suit by one of my ex-creditors on my Credit file of which they had prior knowledge of. They told me that I would be garnished and tried for writing bad checks. Plus questioned if my HR department had contacted me. Then he said I owed $2,700 but if I paid today $579.98 the 'settlement' amount I would be cleared. I cleared my throat and said who is this ? How can they have this much private information unless they know or have knowledge of my credit file. The Shell company must be selling off Credit Files and calling only those with bad credit for extortion. All Collections Agencies do is send you numerous letters and in some cases phone calls so you can pay up. If you don't pay they sell it to the next Collection Agency and in some cases it ends up with a fictitious Collection Agency claiming to improve your credit.  While I admit I don't have the best of credit. I think I should have some material on the subject matter by Snail Mail.  In this case I had nothing.  So the call continued I asked if they can email some paper work. They have a contract with RightSignature LLC. It is WestPointe Group 3281 East Guasti Road STE 700 Ontario, CA 91761 Office: 855-597-3755 Fax 855-832-4089. I hung up and they called back immediately. Told me I have by 6pm. hahahahahha.

I to received a call yesterday, I'm so glad I tried to look up this company and found this, if I could of got a hold of the company I supposedly owe this money to I would have paid it but since it merged there is no longer that company. He was acting like he was a lawyer and that I owe like 13,000 dollars but they will drop it to 1200 if I pay today, didn't even know I had this bill not on my records at all. who can I contact about this, I don't want this on my credit report if it is a scam?

Got a call from this Gregory Hudson today saying I'm being sued and taken to court by a different company that I supposedly owe money to, wants me to be at my house at 12 o'clock on Friday to be served with lawsuit papers, glad I looked into this the scary thing is that they had my Social Security number I had to confirm the last four which I did but they had the rest of it which now I feel like an idiot for doing because I probably just gave them access to anything that they needed with my social security number I didn't think giving the last four would be a big deal since they had the first part of it already... Fabulous... If anyone finds out any more information please Share I would like to know what the hell this is all about and what kind of scam this guy is running...

This caller "Greg Hudson". which is probably and alias, is harassing me.  Please note that he  is operating a scam and fraud !!!

I AM LIVID!!! THIS IS A SCAM!  A PERSON NAMED GREGORY HUDSON HAS REACHED OUT MY FAMILY MEMBER TODAY!!!  I HAVE BEEN HARRASSED BY THIS PERSON FOR MONTHS.  I AM CONTACTING MY ATTORNEY TODAY TO PUT AND END TO THIS AND HIM ONCE AND FOR ALL.
I SWEAR THAT I WILL EXPOSE THE SOURCE OF THIS ANNOYING SCAM SOON.

Harassing phone calls re: a family member of mine. Have NO IDEA WHAT THIS IS!

I believe that WEST POINT GROUP is a DBA for GOLIATH FINANCIAL INC. 1035 MONTECITO DR STE 102. CORONA CA 92879 or for  ASSET RG. 2910 E INLAND EMPIRE BLVD. ONTARIO CA 91764

I began getting phone calls from them today 04-15-2014 and good enough they come up under my Experian credit report with an inquiry dated 04-14-2014.

When you call 1-855-832-4046 they claim to be the answering service for several companies in their building. They ask if you have a file number and then transfer the call. They claim to be a collection agency and/or law firm named WEST POINT GROUP and based out of ONTARIO, CALIFORNIA USA. Every one that I talked to trying to get information about why they were looking for me and calling my friends was extremely rude, hostile and aggressive. The man I talked to was named GREG HUDSON. They said they were trying to confirm my identity because they were possibly suing me. I refused to confirm my date of birth and social security number and they refused to give me any information. When you google "West Point Group Ontario" nothing, absolutely nothing comes up which leads me to assume that WEST POINT GROUP is just a DBA or fake name. They got a hold of one of my friends and tried to get information from them, but my friends did not give them any information. Shouldn't this kind activity be reported to either their local law enforcement or to the FTC or FCC?

This number (951-893-4222) is part of the same group that had me call the 855 number.  They said they were a legal document company looking to make sure I was going to be home tomorrow to sign for some legal documents???  WTF?  I have no legal issues!  Not sure where they got my info?  Making me angry ... This is the 2nd call like this!

Guessing this is some type of scam ... Acting like I'm going to be getting legal paperwork tomorrow and want to make sure I'm home.  Where did they get my number?  Is there a charge for this type of phone call when I call it back?  What is the point of the call?  Anyone know anything?

I got a call from this 855-832-4046 number and have me a file number talking about a complaint which i don't know nothing about, the crazy part is that it called my family phone that is across seas,..got the message like our was some type of lawsuit or something... i would like to know who is leaving such a message

yeah i got a call today 4-3-14 the guy said his firm received a complaint about me and gave me some file number and i checked on a caller id site ther is no such area code of 855 so who is frigging calling me ..    i sure like to know who is behind this ..
