Debt Collector
My mother in law received a call from them claiming I was investigated for bounced checks and breech of contract. The cops showed up at her door with a tow truck trying to take my car. Of course I wasn't there, because I don't live there and neither have I used that address as a mailing address in at least 10 years. The creditors I do owe, all know my work number as well as my work address and my home address and I never received a summons of any kind. I haven't been able to get in touch with them, since I received the news later in the evening. I was honestly too shook up to remember the name of the company that answered the phone, but it had the words debt collector in it. When I googled the number it brought me to this page.

Called my step brother whom lives in a different state & said had a warrent for me for bank fraud & were going to send it to my local police & come to my work if I didn't call them in 48 hrs. I have never had a bad check or any bank issues EVER! They must be a fraud!

This sounds like extortion dressed as debt collection. The agents' horrid threats are empty and their conduct is illegal. As early as possible it's critical to determine if your collector is domestic or yet another South Asian faker. The former you can sue into submission; the latter tend to be out of reach.

My notes from October 2011 on payday loan and "hot check" collectors are linked below.

Debt Collector
I have received calls from this number by a woman calling herself Logan James. She says she is a state process server and that I have two hours to call back or they are coming to my work and home to serve me. she called about a week ago and called home, rental home, cell, and work and threatened that I was going to be served. She is really mean on the messages. I googled everything before returning the call and since googling will not call back.
