Debt Collector
I had been getting calls from these people for months(same threatening messages as others) and I ignored them.  When I didn't call, they started harassing my husband's cell phone.  He got freaked out by the threatening message and called them.  Without verifying anything but my name(he doesn't know my social) and saying he was my husband, these people proceeded to tell him all about the account in which they were trying to collect.  They wanted payment, which he didn't do.  He came home to talk to me about it and when he said what account it was for, I had to laugh because, 1.  It is owned by another company, one that I had heard from before and they have been sending me settlement offers, one that actually is good until the 30th of the month.  It also states on their letters that because the law limits how long you can be sued for on a debt they will not sue me for it because of it's age(the SOL is up) but they will still try to collect on it.  2. the amount trying to be collected by these jokers is $1700 more than the company that actually owns the account!  Because we didn't call them back, some women left another threatening message on my husbands phone stating that she was with their "finalizing dept" and if they don't hear from me they will have to "make a decision to go the next step" insinuating them suing me.  The number she wanted me to call(which she obviously didn't even know, because she had to pause to look to see what it was) when I searched it on line, was a cell phone!  I don't know about you, but I don't know any reputable businesses who have customers call them on cell phones...  I seriously doubt they will sue me, they don't own the debt  and have no right to collect on it!  I will pay it to the owning company when I can get the money together.

Debt Collector
I've gotten at least 3 calls from this fly by night "law firm" and boy oh boy are they a "joy" to deal with. I got two voicemails from them about my social security # being red flagged and about a summons in my local juridiction....I called them back after the 2nd voicemail and spoke with a Rep and it was in regards to a valid debt that I had from a Credit Card from a few years back that I last made a payment on in 2009. I was informed that they had an affidavit on behalf of the Store(and its bank)that I received the card from charging me with "Fraud,Malicious Intent, and theft of services". The debt alltogether was for $6000 and they wanted to sue for $8000(that's including court fees). The rep asked what my intent was and I said I would like to try and pay them and try to settle with them since I assumed I'm screwed in this situation. I received two settlement options(the rep said that they need to make some money in addition to what they were getting for their client)...granted they were "cheaper" than what they wanted to sue for,but there was no way I could afford to pay what they wanted in such a short amount of time....since the convo was friendly the rep asked if I could pay anything at that moment(even just $50) which I found odd since he initially said for either of the settlement options to work it would require a down payment of $800....I told them I'd call them back but instead consulted with a lawyer the following week since despite the rep being polite and friendly something seemed really off....a lawyer that I spoke with informed me tha it turns out the Statute of Limitations to sue for that Card had ran out already last year and had I paid them even 1 red cent it would have started it over. Furthermore before I spoke with my lawyer, I contacted the original creditor of the card to ask about this lawsuit and see if I could have settled with them directly. They said they sold the debt off a long time ago and they have NOTHING to do with it anymore. That and the debt was sold off to a company other than JMK. So the phone rep blew smoke up my a** when they said that they were representing the original creditor and I'm sure  they were aware that if I paid even one cent the statute of limitations would start over(which was why they wanted even just $50 bucks, when I was quoted a higher down payment initially). It was just scare tactics on JMK/"Mr. Stevens"  behalf......be careful when dealing with these jokers......

I have been harassed by the same number on multiple occasions and told them they were breaking federal regulations.  They want to confirm the last 4 of your SSN as other writers have stated in regard to some debt and yes it is JMK this time I found v mail and never heard the phone ring they could easily cause an elderly or infirm person to have a MI (heart attack) sorry I am a RN and find this offensive especially in Texas where this type of conduct is disallowed.

Just another Scam piece of crap company. They called me to say i had a summons in Depage, IL. I have never even been there!! lol. I live in California.  I questioned the girl (Marylin Howe - b***s*** artist but seemed nice) who told me she was a legal courier and when i asked her what name was on the summons, she didnt even know my name but had my Dads name (who hasnt lived here in the USA for 20 years!)  and the address she gave was completely wack which was 961 N. Weigel ave, depage IL (like i said, i have never even visited Illinois).  Anyways i got her number which was lo and behold 855 841 8419. I called them back later that day. They said JMK Associates and really...really...really tried to keep me on the phone but dink! i hung up after confirming their company name.
Obviously they want SS numbers, addresses, anything they can do to get credit in YOUR name and go on a spending spree. I dont think so JMK, You can all KISS MY A**! Hope this helps people. They will try and worm their way in but beware and give them nothing.

Google voice cut off the first part of the message, but it said something about the local jurisdiction and wanting to give a courtesy call to receive my statement of intent and to contact their firm at the same number. Probably a debt collector. They'e going in my block list.
