I called my provider and was told that this number is a false display and they are calling from a diferent number but sending this one to get around the DO NOT CALL LIST.

Called 2 X today.  The number apparently cannot be dialed back from my area code.

I'm getting harassed by this phone number on a daily basis as well. Most of the time they hang up. One time I spoke to someone and she told me that she was calling from Verizon to tell me about new offers because I was a former customer. I asked her to be removed from her call list, but the calls continued.

I called my phone service provider to try to block the number, but the number couldn't be blocked. I was told that a computer was generating the calls, so it wasn't a real phone number.

So I called Verizon directly @ 1-800-837-4966 and asked to be placed on their own do not call list. It takes 30 days for the request to process. I told the rep that I was on the federal do not call list and she told me that there's an exception for companies you've had business with in the past. (Not sure if that's true.)

Also, the Verizon rep told me I could call Verizon's "Unwanted/ Unlawful" report line; it's 1-800-257-2969. The department handles situations like these, but I have not called it yet so I don't know if it will be effective.

Call F.C.C. @ 1-866-418-0232. Tell  them the times you received calls and you can't block them  They will ask you for the numbers that call you and they will put a stop to the telephone computer

We don't have a land line. We have Verizon Fios and a voip phone. So when they call, I ask if they know I am already a verizon customer, this confuses them. And sometimes I just say "we don't use phones here, please put us on your do not call list"  and they sometimes blubber "but we're using a phone now!" and I say "we are? oh no!" and I hang up.  Ha ha.

After doing some searching and calling I found out it was Verizon - as another post had said.
I finally called 1-800-837-4966 and demanded to be added to their Do Not Call List and
to stop all mail about them. So far it has worked. No 855 calls .

It turns out, this number - (855)843-8335, is in fact Verizon.

How do I get them to stop calling? We wre getting 3 to 6 calls
a day. Ant help would be welcomed...

I've been reading (not sure if it's urban legend or rumors) that folks who are on the receiving end of an 855 area code call gets charged for the call itself (and not the caller).  I've been called by this same number multiple times each day over the last week.  This might be a stretch, but is it a new way for scumbags to place calls (and earn some form of compensation) to callers who unknowingly pick up the call.  Seems like since there is never an answer when you pick up, it's just racking up some kind of reimb/fees from the call.  Might want to check your next phone bill to see if you have misc charges.

19 phone calls from this number in 7 days...it says nothing when answered, I think this is definitely harrassment,.

This number calls several time a day.  Noone makes any comments.  When I call back I am told that there is some sort of error and would I try again later

I got someone to trace this - it is owned by Aire Spring- another phone provider

ask them to block this customer from calling your number

Just pick up and when they ask for someone,  say... sure hold on a sec.  I put the phone down and let them wait.  Eventually they just hang up.  Don't let them aggravate you. Aggravate them.

It turns out, this number - (855)843-8335, is in fact Verizon.
Its being used by their marketing department to try to get you to switch back to Verizon.
The reason they call you even though your number is listed on the national DoNotCall registry is that your number is seemingly "owned" by Verizon.  You must have established this number originally from Verizon and it is now "leased" to your current provider.
Because of this, they are merely continuing their business with you as opposed to cold calling.  So it is somehow not illegal even though your number is listed on the DoNOtCall registry.
Whats interesting is that even with all the Fibre optic technology they have, they seem to be dropping the bulk of the automatic calls that they place.

Same deal... They called asking for my father and then hung up on me.

I received a call from this number. 800 service, no msg. I'm expecting an important phone call and I thought I missed it because of these jerks.

My local TV station has an investigation reporter that handles this type of inquires.  I will be passing this information along to her.  If anyone else can do the same within their community, that would be great.

Me too, every single day, sometimes more than once. I'm on the do not call list and it doesn't do any good! If you know how to block this number, I'd love to hear about it.

I'm getting daily calls from this number that appears on my caller ID as the number and "800 Service". Also called them back and was told that the "call can not be completed as dialed". How can I get them to stop calling me.

My phone rang three times, I picked up the phone and there was nothing but dead air.  My caller ID reads 'toll free call'

I got a call from them this morning and didn't answer. When I called the number back, I got a recording saying that this service is not available in my area.

Just got a call from them.  It comes up on Caller ID as "800 Service".  I called them back and got an error message "Due to telephone company trouble, your call could not be completed as this time.  Would you try your call again later?"
