These people are relentless too. They have been calling me for years now. They even called my father in law at one point. I have checked my credit report on numerous occasions for any outstanding debt and I don't have any. They keep saying they are going to serve papers to my house and my job. I just keep telling them to go ahead and serve them and that I'm home all day to accept the papers. Nobody every comes to serve papers. Total scam. So wrong what they are doing.

I got a call from a similar number with the same story so I am assuming it is the same bunch. They called me from 855-848-0802 telling me that they had legal documents with my name (my old married name that I have not used in almost 5 years) and my SSN. I need to call them or I will be served on Thursday between 12 and 5. I have no idea who these people are as they left no identifying information when they left the message and when I google the number nothing comes up. I did call back and was told it was a debt from 6 years ago.

I found out today that they called my mother and my grandparents as well. It is on my mother's VM so I am going over to record that so I have a record of it as well. I do not have any clue as to how they were able to get their numbers as I dont even know my grandparents number off the top of my head because they only moved back to my state recently. I have never had the last name that they have as my mother has gone back to her maiden name and I havent used the same name as her since I was 19...its been a minute to say the least. They told my mother and grandmother they were from the county court here where we live but I know that isnt true because I called the police worried it was some sort of scam and he ran the case number they gave me and came up with nothing.....isnt that against the law?

Regardless I will not be holding my breath to see if they show up tomorrow. I wish I could figure out how to record phone calls on my phone so if they call or if I call them it can be recorded some how.

Keep getting threatening phone calls from this number.  First they were just calls, then they pose as the police and say they are sending someone from the police department to serve me papers from the court.  No one ever shows up. My daughter called them and told them they are not getting anything until they send me paperwork.  They use a different company name everytime they call.

Got a call from this number asking to speak with a gentleman who just so happens to have my last name. They did not 1. inform that it was an attempt to collect a debt..so if it is from a credit collection agency, one law was broken there. And 2. left personal information for the gentleman they were trying to reach on MY voicemail, which is a violation of the FCRA. If this is a debt collection agency, they are in serious risk of all of this man's debts being erased because they are careless. He should definitately file a suit against THEM. I called back and politely informed her they have the wrong number, to which she asked if I knew the gentleman. No ma'am I do not, and if I did I would be helping him file suit against you for breaking the law, not the other way around.

They called and said it was urgent that I call this number. I think it's a total scam because I have excellent
credit and owe nothing on anything. They may have linked my name to someone in my family who owes money. The first part of the message is cut off so there was no company name. When I google the number, AGF does not come up -  if it was legitimate, I think it would.

I get the same phone calls everyday to my cell and sometimes to work.  I know its a payday loan that I owe but due to medical problems I was not able to pay them back.  They wanted the whole amount and refused to work with me.  They threatened me to call my work and tell everyone what I had done (which they did...bad mistake) and they even harrassing my daughter on her honeymoon.  I dont know where they got her number.  They told her that they were sending the police to come pick me up and have me arrested.  They told me the same thing...I told them so ahead...that I would have them arrested for harrassment.  There are federal laws in place for debt collectors.  I sued them and got $3,500 from them.  I paid them back what I loaned.  My attorney got like $5,500 but its ok.  They had violated like 4 federal laws against me for everytime they called me and I got sick and I ended up in the hospital.  Even if you owe them money...there are laws to protect us.  They can work with us but refused.  Know your federal laws and stand up for yourselves and sue them.  Its a federal offense.

Judiann,  ROFFLMFAO!!! Try learning how to type on the internet first, moron! All of those tactics are illegal. They are a stupid collection agency breaking laws to try to scare people... They don't even have accurate contact info and I'm listed in the phone book. LOL! I also live in Texas which is a debtor friendly state. Your homestead is not at risk nor is is allowed to garnish wages here. They can sit on it and rotate for all I care. There is absolutely NOTHING <-(caps are for emphasis idiot) they can do. I'm still laughing at the SERIOUS responses here by debt collectors attempting to SCARE people. LOL!

Oh yeah... you might also try a paragraph break once in awhile there stupid. Also, it's "their' not "THERE". Learn proper grammar before YOU post, ok?   See? I followed your instructions. I know the facts and then I posted. That was EASY!!

I ADVISE ALL OF YOU TO KNOW YOUR FACTS BEFORE POSTING! NOT ONLY IS IAG A LEGITIMATE COMPANY 80% OF THERE ACCOUNTS COME FROM A COMPANY BY THE NAME OF NCA (NATIONAL CREDIT ADJUSTERS) WHO ARE BASED OUT OF KS. IF YOU THINK YOU ARE BEING SCAMED CHECK YOUR CREDIT REPORT  THE NCA TRADELINE WILL BE THERE AS A COLLECTION ACCOUNT. IF YOUR RECEIVING CALLS FROM IAG VERIFY WITH NCA IF IN FACT THEY LEGALLY HAVE THE RIGHT TO COLLECT ON YOUR DEBT. AS FAR AS THREATS.. ITS ONLY A THREAT IF THE OWNER OF THE ACCOUNT HAS NO LEGAL RIGHT TO TAKE YOU TO COURT SINCE ACCOUNTS ARE OWNED BY NCA THEY DO RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SUE YOU UNDER YOUR ORIGINAL CONTRACT TERMS. I WISH YOU ALL THE BEST OF LUCK I STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU TRY TO LOCATE YOUR ORIGINAL PAPER WORK FROM WHICH EVER COMPANY YOU RECEIVED MONEY FROM NOT ONLY DID YOU GIVE THEM PERMISSION TO "SELL" YOUR INFO YOU ALSO AGREED TO THE FACT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY LEGAL FEES THE FILING PARTY IS RESPONSIBLE FOR... AND IF YOU THINK YOU CANT BE SUED IF THERE IN ANOTHER STATE I ADVISE YOU GOOGLE FOREIGN JUDGMENT!!!! BEST WISHES DEBTORS!

Were you not paying attention to recent entries here? IAG is trying to frighten the coins from your pocket, and apparently doing a fair job because you haven't slowed down to become educated.

If your email transcript is accurate, fractured English and all, don't you think it's a little hilarious? You'd think they could afford a few minutes of proofreading before demanding a fat payout. There is no process server coming to your workplace or anywhere else. There are no friendly appointments for these things. The threat is empty, and as I have said, very illegal.

Your first response should not be "How do I pay", but "Prove I owe"! This is done on a paper trail, not over the phone where the hooligan reps can bully you. See my entry from 08 May.

I have been getting calls from this number several times a day for weeks now and no one has ever left a message and then today some BI*** finally left a message threatening me and saying that if I didn't call her back by 7pm tonight she would be giving my papers to a lawyer and that I should consider myself notified.  I called this girl back immediately to rip her a new one and of course I get her voicemail.  I then call the office again to see if there is anyone I can talk to and of course there wasn't.  I have never heard of these people and I have never recieved any letters from them so they better prepare themselves.  This isn't the first time one of these scammers have come at me.  I had one company try to sue me and I made them look like fools and IAG better be ready for the same.  Don't let these people scare you or boss you around.  They are looking for weak, scared and ignorant people to bully around.  Learn the laws and throw them in their faces.  Once they see that your going to put up a fight they will back off.

They also called me, and just recently I was willing to make a pay arrangement to avoid getting served papers at work which would humiliate me.  First I owed 3,300 now they say they can put me on a pay arrangement of 269 for the next 6 months.  I live in PA and someone also called me from a 215 number which is my area code and said they would serve me at work or home.  On the VM they told me to call the 855 number above.....im so confused and everytime I ask for some kind of legit paperwork the man tells me my case number is all i need.  Advice...please

Since someone has filled in the name International Asset Group, we can get to the brass tacks. The bad check claims and the lawsuit threats are all phony baloney and in severe violation of federal and state laws. This bunch is operating like the fake payday loan collectors in Pakistan and India, with one critical difference: It has have a valid U.S. address, in Amherst NY. (... which equals Buffalo, which equals mecca of lawbreaker collectors)

This counts for all the marbles, mainly the ones each one of you can win from these mouth-breathing criminals. Document on paper all calls, all Caller ID entries, anything which is said. Record clean phone audio if you can. Learn to send debt validation requests and cease-comms from the FTC and several consumer forums. Make the FDCPA and your state collection laws your new best friends. Shop for a fierce consumer attorney or go pro se if you like; either way your legal fees will be covered when IAG loses on such blatant violations.

The statutory federal price tag for these hostile collection acts is a grand per action. Possibly you can work in TCPA claims ($500 each) for automated calls and add mental distress as well. Make all information (and payments) flow only from these goons to you. Remember, if they really had proof of claim they wouldn't feel a need to break you down so quickly in fear and doubt. You are in control, not the extortionist bullies.

Has anyone received any kind of notification in the mail about the "debt" these people are calling about?
I just received a call from a lady that said she was scheduled to come to my house or work to deliver an envelope that I need to sign for, the reference phone number goes back to all the numbers that have been mentioned above.  I have not received any kind of notification besides phone calls about this matter!
