Debt collector for Verizon wireless.  Everytime I have tried to speak with them their phone line cuts in and out.  When I told the representative I could only make payments and not a total payment she hung up on me.

They called me and it was an automated response asking for my name. Pressed the number like it told me to do and it hung up. Called them back to see what was going on and they said I needed to make a final payment and asked for my social. I refused to give my social over the phone and "Garret" hung up. I will be going into a store to check my old account and make sure everything is clear.

Yes..... Pfishng scam.. I have NEVER  had a Verizon service... Ever.   I MEVER GIVE MY social last four.   Even if they claim they have "court" papers to deliver and they need to make sure they're calling the correct party.  I say, "I am under NO obligation by law to tell you who YOU  called.  YOU ARE UNDER LEGAL OBLIGATION NOT TO  GIVE MY INFO OUT..... so...... What can I  assist you with today? "   aggrevating for them,  but easier for me!   Show them you know your rights and law,  they are less likely to harass you as much.   Knowledge is POWER!   :)

Wife and I received 2 calls (missed) on our cell phones the same day and when I called them back and asked for them to identify what company he was working for, he hung up.  We recently switched from Verizon to another carrier so it would make sense their scam is probably using Verizon as a front.  

I just got a call on my work line from 8558496979 ? a brief hold and then ?you call is being transferred?. A woman comes on the line asks for me by name. I advise I am her.. She then immediately states she is from Verizon and needs payment on my final bill. (which we are currently waiting for). I told her they could mail final bill and I will pay it.  She says ?Oh, We already mailed it, didn?t you get it?" I told her no and to mail it again. She then wanted to verify address. I told her no, Verizon has never once called asking for any information and I would not give any to her. Then hung up and googled the number.   Don?t give them info if they call you.

I got a call from them today. I do have verizon but my bill is current and if I owed them money why wouldn't they call my cell not my land line. I answered and it said wait a moment for a person. So I didn't the lady said hello and I said it back like 3 time then she hung up.

Called asking for my spouse and when I asked to take message lady on the phone wanted my address to verify the account.  They have been calling for the past week so I researched the number and found all these websites stating this is a scam.  I told her my findings and she just said "well okay" and hung up.

Yeah right! I don't have verizon. I've had sprint for at least 7 years. So are you telling me Sprint hired Verizon to tell me my bill is late? Yeah I didn't think so. I think unless you know for sure you should say nothing at all b/c you don't know and apparently can't read or listen either. :-|

Keeps calling but no one there when I answer

unless you know something I don't, I have caller ID and don't answer any number I don't know. My kids, other family etc., OK. Legitimate businesses also allow their name on the caller ID (department stores we buy from, amazon, etc). when I don't answer it takes a while but eventually they quit calling. another way is to pick up the receiver and leave it off for enough time that their equipment unhooks. that ties up their equipment and cost them money. it feels so good. also, assuming only friends and family know your cell unplug your land line phone, or shut off your ringer and if you have an answering device let the device answer. again it ties them up. Never, Never, Never, give any one but family an friends your cell number. Beat them at their own game. It feels so good.

Got a recorded voice saying "If this is **** please press 1" Curious I pressed 1, it repeated the same message so I hung up. Caller ID said Verizon Wireless- which could mean a cell phone user or the company itself.

If you are sure that you got a phone call from a number beginning with this prefix, the caller is trying to obtain your SS# or your wireless account number.  If you call the number they will ask to leave your name, and account number.  Do not give it to them.  I spoke with the Verizon wireless Fraud department and they say it is not a Verizon wireless authorized person.  I got a call from them and he stated his name as "Garrett" and said that my payment did not go through, and needed the credit card to stop the discontinue order for my cell phone.  Thank goodness I called 611 from my phone directly to Verizon to find out what was going on.  The fraud department says whenever you get a phone number, to always call the direct number to any merchant that is listed on the website;  this ensures that you never get scammed.

I contacted customer care at the real verizon'' and they said they were not aware of it'' so I thought maybe one department was  not communicating with another department on the billing'
Because just prior to this I was trying different phones out '' through BEST BUY'' AND DID GIVE ALL INFO TO BEST BUY' 'because they needed or were required to get all my personal info including my ss number to activate the new 2 year contract.
I tried the new phone received best buy,, returned it because it was not up to my expectations.

When you get a live operator'' they all sound American '', a black, white girl,  and a young man'' with a qu*** sounding voice at times.
I am going to use my government officials to try to resolve this as soon as they have a budget.'' this is classified as a federal scam.
Verizon called it a fishing scam'' and the fraud department said to block the number, Verizon has that free service to block annoying numbers.
I am not done with these people yet, I deal international situations.

These crooks keep calling me at all hours of the day and night. I don't owe anyone any money not do I have a Verizon account. This most certainly qualifies as harassment! How do I make them stop?

they call twice a day like clockwork. I think it is verizon. I never answer it.

This number started calling my cell phone 3 days ago, 1 time that day, 3 times yesterday and so far 1 time today.  After the 1st call yesterday I put the number on my reject list.  I don't know who they are or what they want, but I don't answer a number I don't know.

Today I have received 3 calls from this number within 30 minutes and I am on the no call registry!!!

Repeated calls day after day and no message and no company name.  Do not answer.

I have gotten several call and have never had a Verizon acct.

This # calls us several times a day, first on the land line, then a few minutes later on the cell.....which is NOT verizon. This happens every day. We just don't answer it, but I'm seriously thinking about blowing the whistle in their ear.

Same here.... I had Verizon account for only data (for Internet access) for my tablet.  I called and cancelled it because I no longer using my tablet.  They said that I had zero balance and they closed my account (supposedly).  Guest what ??? 3 months later, they call me that I owed them pass due $90.  Appearntly, they didn't close my account and they keep calling for same old thing that I already explained them.  Finally, I have had enough with them. I downloaded App called "Mr Number" which allows me to block the call.  It is free App and it works like a champ.

I received a call around 8:45 pm.  Too bad we can't get their personal number and call them in the middle of the night.  We don't have a Verizon account either.  Bit if this is their tactic to drive business - they definitively won't get mine!

They call me insistently and then put me on hold. I have my number on do not call for all the good that does

It was a female computerized voice asking for "Grant Jones" and if I wasn't "Grant Jones" to press 1. Then it asked if I needed to place the call on hold while bringing "Grant Jones" to the phone or press 3 if the number did not belong to "Grant Jones". After pressing 3, I was told "sorry for the inconvenience" and the call ended.
