Good luck getting an address or anything legal in writing from them. They have refused me any information to verify the debit which illegal in the US. They have to inform you by mail of the debit who its from and the amount. They told me 1200.00 one day the next they would settle it for 200.00. Its all a load of BS. They do have your info I can tell you that. Its scary knowing this type of people have your SS#, the make year and model of the car you drive, your address, birthday and other vital information. I have reported them to the FTC and the Attorney Generals office in MO.

You should never had paid them. They are bottom feeders and it took me almost a year to get back the money I paid them to get rid of them. They lied about a payday load I never took out. I am an older lady and was scared when they called and threatened me. They said I had bank fraud charges against me over a payday load I never took out. I later found out this company is not located in MO but in New York and they have the FBI looking into them. I reported them to the FTC and the lady said they lie and scam all kinds of people all over the US. If you pay them they will take money out of your account forever if you don't stop it.

Received a call with vm saying I need to call the 855-864-0664 no that my ss no is listed under a check fraud and they gave me a case
No also.  I did call no back because they also called my work and my co-worker told me about the recording. It said my last name and my ss no is under check fraud. She knows it is a scam and did not tell my supervisor. I am on the verge of getting fired and just want it to stop. When I called back I told them to send me something in writing validating the claim, if not quit harassing me and stop calling my work. I had to leave a vm so don't know what will be next. I have filed reports to both FDTC and attorney gen office but don't know what else to do.

I have purchased ID theft and credit monitoring thru Experian.  They are very good at alerting me to any new things on my credit report etc.  I did it because of these people that have been calling me about bogus debts.  It has been going on since January and I am really getting tired of the same old story from these people just with different phone numbers and different companies that they say I owe.  The story constantly changes.  I have all numbers blocked but then in a few months they will change their number and I will have to block those.  Then they called my work to verify my employment and my boss thought it was strange so didn't give them any info.  I would LOVE to find these idiots and sue them.  Nothing would give me greater pleasure than to get these people in court!!!  I plan on making it my mission to find these people as best I can with the help of an attorney friend I am hoping we will.

Not only will they have changed numbers, they also change scam stories.  As long as they know there is a sucker to hook out there, they will keep trying to scam people.  Don't answer a number you do not recognize and get a number blocking app.  Scam artists are as old as time and most likely, will be here until the end of time.  Be smart, do your research and don't let these criminals scam you.  A legitimate debt will be mailed and you will also see it on your credit report.  Although, always review your credit report and question anything that you do not recognize.

They are stating that I received a loan from SSM Group on 2/6/12 that I never paid back.  I looked at my bank statement and there is no deposits showing from SSM Group in 2012.  Or in 2013 or 2014 for that matter.  I have already told them to go ahead and sue me since they keep threatening me with it.  They keep calling back.  I have already reported them to several agencies.  The problem is, by the time the FTC or local authorities look into this, they will have already changed their phone number etc.  These "authorities" do not put these types of "scammers" high on their list of things to take care of.  I will have to take matters into my own hands and hire an attorney.  Anyone know of an attorney in MI that deals with this?

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

Same as all of you I received a message of check fraud. I do plan to call back and have fun with them before I let them know I already have reported them : ) If you did end up giving them money (which I have done in the past because of another scam) it is not to late to get it back. You have to go into your bank and let them know what happened so they can report it to the banks home office and cancel your accounts. They will investigate the matter and you will receive your funds back it just may take a bit. Make sure to bring a copy of these complains here and the site info with you so the bank can see that it is for real.

A voice message was left on my phone from 855-864-0664.  They left a computer generated voice message saying I was default on a check that bounced.  What BS!  It's required by law to notify all default parties in writing.  This is a total scam.  It's interesting how they are able to obtain personal information.  Something tells me they will be caught soon.
