Same old story. Someone tells you about some bad debt and they will file papers. This is a scam people!!!
D2 Management
P.O. Box 178
Charleston, SC 20938
855-865-4437
It come in as a local number. "Tonya" was dumb enough to give me all of this info because they thought I was sending them something. I am...a lawsuit!!!
First of all, if someone is going to serve you papers, it would be law enforcement, not an individual. They didn't even know where I lived. All they want is for you to get scared and pay them something.
Secondly, tell them that you want the papers served so you have credible evidence for your court case. You can also tell them that your call is being recorded...that makes them immediately hang up.
Please DO NOT give them ANY information. The more info they have, the more they can harass you and your family. They will do anything to get you to pay them something. If you know how to play the game, they get upset and will stop calling you.

For the past two months this number has called 4-5 time a day during working hours and on weekends but never leaves a message. I've answered twice and they have hung up on me.

I have been getting at least 5 calls a day from this number and never leaves a message or if I answer there is no response. Is there a way to stop them from calling?
ck 2012-08-22 17:02:13 Telemarketer
They phone me every day even though I pressed "1" to have them stop phoning.
They definitly sound like scammers as a major bank like TD wiuld not operate in
this manner!!
VOIP 2012-08-21 17:58:30 Unknown
If you want to block them and save money....
Drop Bell.
Sign up for a VOIP service like Vonage or Primus Talkbroadband.
They allow you to filter calls.
I forward all these 800 #'s back to themselves.

Professional and courteous woman called at 1:30 PM and since I didn't answer the call I did not realize it was not a local number calling. She was calling from a telemarketing company on behalf of TD-Canada Trust to sell me identity theft notification for $ 20 month with the first thirty days free and a free credit report. The service though is not protection but only notification of someone accessing your credit report and should someone other than you obtain credit on your account they provide you contact information on how to go about repairing your file.
She referred me to this Site when I declined:

Received this caller several times always silence. This is one of many 1800 calls that are scams.
This is not only an invasion of my privacy but also my wallet because I pay for the convenience (?) of the phone service. There has to be some recourse to put this kind of harassment to death.

Been getting these calls between 8-10am every day for the past couple of weeks. I never answer from numbers I don't know/telemarketers/etc., so I'm amazed they haven't given up yet.

That's not my real name, by the way. This is clearly a scam. I would like to know how to Block a call. Also, who to notify about this problem. CRTC^?
jar 2012-07-18 17:05:29 Unknown
just block the number
grouchy goose 2012-07-18 13:55:18 Telemarketer
They said they were TD Bank representatives selling insurance to prevent identity theft. Aparently they notify you if there is any change in your credit rating, etc. They knew my address. I asked them to send the information via mail, but they wanted my birth date in order to send the information. Of course I did not give it to them. 30 days free. then 19.99 per month. The woman had one of those older, friendly voices. I think it's a scam.

So, I'm on the CRTC National Do Not Call List.
Big deal! It means a hill of beans. I got a call today from the number you're discussing.
There are legal penalties. Again, big deal!

Thanks for the tip, I've been getting calls from them up to 4 times a day.
It is from BRI and they're a telemarketing firm for Insurance, FInance, Marketing, etc.
They have a Do Not Call option - Press 1
Thanks
