Why are you defending these people Robin? Ahh yes...you are one of them. You say they aren't misleading us but then they send someone like you to pose as a real customer to MISLEAD us real customers from the real truth. I'm insulted and I'm angry

It IS an illegal scam.  New federal laws require previous authorization IN WRITING from customers to allow random sales calls.  If written, signed authorization from the customer is not on file, the company CANNOT CALL.  Send a letter.  Send an email.  But you CANNOT CALL.

Your "business" tactics ARE a scam and ILLEGAL.  Federal law requires WRITTEN CONSENT in order to contact customers with telemarketing type offers!  It no longer matters whether you are calling customers or not.

I blocked the caller.  If you have an iphone, in the 'Recents' list touch the information 'i' to the right of the number.  Scroll to the bottom and touch 'Block'.  they call me everyday.  I have yet to answer their call and like others have said, no messages.  Can't be too urgent.

I was not misled.  This number is a Verizon number, I re-confirmed it with Verizon Customer Support again today - I wanted to make sure that I wasn't misleading anyone so I did due diligence to ensure that I wasn't supporting a scam.  As you can see from my previous response Mr. Fisher left a note on my account that summarized our conversation.  No boiler room operation would have access to my account and specific account information - as confirmed by the Verizon Representative.  This is a legitimate Verizon number, no scam.

You have been misled. This company is a boiler room operation. The company buys lists of names with phone # then cold calls customers and upsells them on whatever service they are using. They then send this to the vendor and collect a commission. AT&T and Verison allow this, I don't know if other phone company's do, I'm sure some do.. There are many of these boiler room companies and many service providers who accept their product. Dish Network is one I know about for sure.  How do I know this? I'm an old retired computer guy. I was there when my company invented telecommunication. I was part of building and installing an internal worldwide communication network. This was going on about the time that DARPA was being created.  When I retired I became a freelance consultant and worked with local vender and telcos. Because of my age, I'm pretty much behind on the latest technology, but I know how it all works.

It is not a scam.  I received a call from this number and spoke with Mr. Fisher.  He reviewed my account and offered a plan that provided the exact amount of calling and texting but with more data capabilities and it was cheaper.  I did not provide him ANY information at all.  The number he called was the one listed as a contract number with Verizon and he was able to provide ME with the two numbers on our plan.  I was a little wary so I told him that I didn't want to commit at this time.  He said no problem he would place a note on the account and I could call Verizon or go to a store and let them know that I was interested in More Everything Plan.  I hung up and called Verizon.  They confirmed the notation on my account and the legitimacy of the call.  I went ahead and switched plans.  I wouldn't necessarily call him a telemarketer since he wasn't selling me something I didn't already have, he was just seeing if there was a better Verizon plan for me.  Glad he did call because I would not have known that there is a better, less expensive, plan for our family.  :)  Since I am a customer with Verizon, I don't think I would call them a Telemarketer either - I would call it customer service.  Suggest if you don't want them to call you to contact Verizon and ask them to place a note on your record.  That may help.

So, right on time (somewhere around lunchtime), this number called my cell phone. This time I picked up. I had to say, "Hello?" "Hello?" several times before someone spoke. It was a lady looking for my husband.  When I said he wasn't here, she said she would call back later. I let her know that my husband would never, ever be answering my cell phone. She explained that she was with Verizon Wireless and wanted to let my husband know of some promotions.

I told that we had just bought new phones around three weeks ago, meaning that we signed new contracts. The caller said that it takes awhile for them to get information like that.

I don't buy this. I quizzed her further. This caller insists that she works for Verizon and that I have a "relationship" with Verizon. I have been with Verizon for around 15 years and have never gotten a call regarding "promotions". I called her a telemarketer. She did not deny this.

I let her know that I have already filed an FCC complaint against her calls. I let her know that people across the Internet are complaining about her calls. I told her to go check her phone number on the Internet. I told her that phone calls from telemarketers with no caller I.D. and no message left when the phone goes unanswered is against the law. I let her know that no matter what her connection is with Verizon, that she is still breaking the law.

I asked to be put on her "Do Not Call" list, which my phone number has already been registered with the DNC since 2005. She said that it takes 30 days for my request to be propagated. This is a lone person who is annoying innocent people with her attempt to make some side money. It does not take "30 days" for her to scratch my number off her list. I better not ever see this phone number appear ever again on my phone.

I should add that in my FCC complaint that I DID make note of my relationship with Verizon, but that this caller is a telemarketer nonetheless. She is not part of an organization. She is a lone wolf.

I imagine this telemarketer will be able to associate my name with this post. This is all right with me. I have no problem at all pursuing an end to these calls through any legal means available to me. I have done it before and I am disgusted enough to do it again.

Telemarketer
Been calling for weeks, finally answered today, said hello, heard nothing so I stayed on the line for 10 sec and then they hung up. I called right back and a female answered saying "Thanks for calling Verizon! Can you please verify your phone number?" I asked why, she stated she was trying to get me discounts and savings and could modify my phone plan to save me money. I said no thanks and to take me off the calling list, she said ok but I need your phone number. I hung up.

I appreciate your email as you could just ignore these complaints. Having said that, the FCC requires legitimate telemarketers to list their company name on the Caller ID. Your company is displaying Anonymous and, given telemarketing is your business, I would say that the company is still not on the "up and up". Furthermore, I am on the DNC list and I have not done business with your company. Verizon cannot just transfer this authority to your company without my consent.

Even if this is true... it does not matter.  If I wanted more, or less, from Verizon I would contact them myself.  I would NEVER go thru a 3rd party, even if they are authorized by Verizon.  I didn't ask for these calls, I don't want these calls and every single one I get makes me more determined I would never do business with your company.
