When they call its pure silence.
However when I called back (caller ID) My story is the same as Sunrose.
"Called this number back, Wells Fargo promotion. Followed instructions to be removed from their internal calling list for all promotions."

This is Wells Fargo. They just can't stop calling. Won't take no for an answer that I will not come back to them. Reason I left to begin with was that they kept calling about good deals.

I called back the number and found out that the number belongs to Wells Fargo. The recorded message stated that they have "special promotion" in place. I have an account with them (it used to be CoreStates, before that was First Union, before that was First Pennsylvania, before that was...). I am trying to close the account -- no offense was made on their part. I am trying to clean up my life and be free from these giant banks! Whatever special that the promotion may be, I am sure I don't want it -- if they really want me to take it, they would have left me a message.

The guy called me saying he was from wells Fargo with an insurance card. I called back and an answering machine picked up saying that wells Fargo has attempted to contact you and they will try again at a later date.
