The "collections sales department"?! Y'all trippin'. Y'all never proved chain of title by returning to a creditor. Y'all should know that's a collector's problem, not for y'all to solve. Y'all needed to raise a dispute with your collector. Y'all can see in federal law y'all have that right. Or else y'all choose not to see that 'cause y'all work for these creeps. Either way, "yall might wanna do research" yourself.

Get on a paper trail. Verbal demands aren't going to work on thugs like this. My advice for "not me" cases is found here:
http://800notes.com/forum/ta-34af6a034ba34b6/unending-collection-calls

This thread lists an address which *may* be valid.
http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-855-776-5168

If you find an address that works, sue this bunch for making false legal threats without even verifying who you are.

While foreign ownership is certainly possible, this agency of many names is always traced back to addresses in Upland and West Covina, CA. It's likely another amorphous branch of the "Corona Cabal" of illegal debt collectors. The umbrella name may be RPA & Associates.

A VM was left on my cell phone to call this number today 855-873-7635 along with a case number stating I will be served and when will I be home between 8-4 Monday-Friday; I called back they claimed they were looking for a Catherine Rogers and the person had other AKAs as well.  I told them I did not know the person and they said they would note that on the account then a few minutes later they called my spouse.  We do not know how they got our cell phone numbers and we do not know the person they are claiming they are looking for.  Any suggestions?

Saw a lawyer today about this company and issue. I was told its more than likely a scam. File a claim with FTC.. And if it is an actual company document everything as in my situation they broke a ton of the debt collection laws.

I originally got a call from 8557132355 which "Mr. Jones" stating I owed money from Wells Fargo and that they are suing me. He stated he wanted $500 today or they will garnish my wages. After feeling this is phishy I looked into it at Wells Fargo and dates added up but debt collection name did not. They gave me another number: 909-440-6347 which is the debt collections number (supposingly). Then when they were talking to me I heard "Mr. Jones" in the background. They then gave me another number (this number 855-873-7635). The google for both "855" numbers both came up as fraud.

Parker and Ross called me on the 12th for a "debt" from Wells Fargo that I was being sued for. They told me I had 24hours to make a payment or they were starting legal process. They emailed me forms. Upon looking at them it stated they were from upland ca with an address and said bbb acredited. I called bbb. They have no record of this company and told me to file a complaint with FTC. I also called upland police department and the address of law firm is a ups store. Type in this address it will give you a bunch of names they use.

They called my three sisters and not me today,  when I called them back they requested my last 4 of my ss# before they would give me the merchants name.  When I refused they yelled ' go to jail then!!!!!!!'  They had all my personal info. And told me --u were supposed to have been served papers already at your job and at home, and that they shouldn't have given me the heads up on this.  As if to be diing me a favor.  I'm reporting them to attorney general in the am and locking my credit bureau reports!

not using my name or initials after reading the above comments.  received a call today asking if I would be home in the next two days to receive papers being served.  asked for a number to call and they gave me the number above (855-xxx-7635).  Who calls before serving papers?  This sounds like a scam to me.  Anyone have any further dealings with this.  I googled the name of the law firm he said he represents (Parker and Ross) and found nothing.

First of all, no one calls ahead of time to tell you you're being arrested.  Secondly, debt is a civil matter, not criminal, so no one gets arrested.  Third, he refused to obey the FDCPA and mail you (not email or fax) documentation to proving you owe this debt to him/his company.

Report the calls to the FTC, the FBI and your state's Attorney General.  The caller is a scammer.  They harvest information from online payday loan applications or other unethical sources.  Next time he calls, advise him you've reported him and that you are also recording all calls made to you.  Do NOT pay anything.  If this company was legitimate, they would not resort to illegal threats and would also have no problem mailing you the documentation regarding the debt.

How do they know or have sensitive information about me? I believe it's a scam but it definitely has me worried because they had dates of the incident that really happened and exact amounts they wanted me to pay.

My fiance gave this number to me because he said they called HIS cell phone looking for me. It's ironic because supposedly this "legal issue" is dated back in April 2009 but I didn't meet my fiance until June of 2009. I wonder how they got his cell number and yet don't have a current address for me because they claim that they have attempted to serve me papers at an address that I have not lived at for 4 years. I was told that if I do not pay the settlement or appear in court, they will issue a bench warrant for my arrest. I told them to go ahead and do that, and the guy hung up on me.

So I have had an interesting conversation with a Mr. Allen for "Our Corporate Office" as well today. He was trying to get me to pay a settlement from 2009. Why all of a sudden (4 years) later are they supposedly suing me? I told him to send me documents and he replied, "We will not send you any documents, you have all you need to know from this conversation and the last." I told him that I was not able to make any kind of payment today and when I said that, he told me that he will start the paperwork for my court date and/or bench warrant, then hung up on me.

Your husband is in the process of being scammed.  Most of those who run this scam are actually not in this country but India and Pakistan.  Some from eastern Europe,  i.e.  Ukraine.   He will not be served anything except Pizza and only if he orders it and only the courts can order garnishment of wages.   No it is not real,  these slime balls are stealing millions from unsuspecting people in the US as well as other Western countries thru this scam.  They try to create problems for the victim by calling their job place and stir up the pot with their employers.  Puts pressure on the victim to settle.   He should not talk with them again.  Hang up!  Your husband should notify his manager or supervisor as well as any Human Resourse people that this scam is taking place and there is nothing that he can do to keep them from calling.  He should prepare a formal Letter and give it to His company describing what is happening  so as to have a written record should any problems arise with this employer.   He should be aware that Termination without cause is against the law and a hefty suit can be filed and won  should he be terminated.   Those low life maggots are the scum of the earth who do these scams and their governments do nothing to stop them,  therefore our government is almost powerless to stop them.   Good luck.

My husband just received a call at his work. The guy said he was going to show up and serve papers, and threatened to garnish wages, etc. No idea if this is real or not, but if we owed someone money, I would think we would have received a letter!! Very unacceptable

No, nothing yet. Called the number and got the voicemail for "our corporate office". (kinda sketchy that they don't identify who they are...right?) If I ever do hear back from them, whoever they are, hopefully I'll remember to let you know
