I received a call from Antonio Walker 855-884-4795 telling me I was going to be served.  When I hung up on them they called my boss and left a message on his machine and then called another co-worker and left a message on her machine saying I was going to be served.  I have called the police and my company I work for has also called the police.  If they contact me again they will see the end of a summons.

These guys tried this crap on my wife last April. Then they got me. I called them so often, one call right after another, that they were incredibly mad, but i was incredibly happy to hear them all pissed off. They finally BEGGED me to stop calling them. I agreed only if they stopped calling me. Lets just say it's 4 months later, and i have not heard a peep out of them. So try this tactic. Just call for fun. Mock them if you have too. Have short happy speeches for them. Ask them hows the weather. Ask them if there refrigerator is running. Just ANNOY them with constant calls. And keep doing it no matter what they say until they agree to delete your number. P.S. - If they say they are going to call your local police, give them the number.

They called my cell regarding a check fraud for my sister.  I called them back and told them to remove my number and asked what the call was in reference to.  I spoke with my sister who said she has notified the authorities already...they called her dozens of times in a 24 hour period.

Scumbag Dan Powers called my homefrom phone # 855-884-4797

and got my 85 year old mom.  He told her that the police were coming to arrest me for writing a bad check.  This upset her so bad that she became very ill. I called and got him, cursed him out and told him not to call my home again.  Payday loans are illegle in North Carolina and he has got my name off of some list, trying to scare me.  It's against the law to devulge information to a third party about your debt.  I will report this company to the Attorney General's office. From reading the other post I think they are located in Florida.

Some guy named Scott called my sister posing as someone from my Credit Union, saying that I need to call them back immediately concerning my account. I called, the guy first started out acting like he was from my Credit Union, saying I wrote a bad check, then he switched gears and said I need to pay $1200 for a $300 past due payday loan. I told him I owe no money and he need not call me anymore. Then he became very rude and started threatening me with jail time for writing a bad check over state lines in Florida. BTW I am in California. He kept ranting and asking me if I have retained an attorney for this matter and all I kept telling him was to file whatever you like, I don't need an attorney and I don't care to hear about your plans. He finally got frustrated and hung up on me. Next day I get a call from Federal Processing, left a message saying that I need to retain an attorney and this was my final chance to make payment before he filed criminal charges against me for writing a bad check across state lines. No calls since then.

Called yesterday looking for someone who 8 years ago lived in my house--in another state.  Today they called looking for me! I owe no one money, have never bounced a check, and the person they're looking for left the country--also owing me money.  Now they have tied his name to my cellphone. Fortunately, they do show up as a "restricted number" so i know not to answer. But it is annoying. Thanks to all who posted here the info that clarifies what these people are, and laws as it pertains to this.

Some man named smith called my house and talked to my son who is being treated for cancer and upset him more in his condition.  He said I was wanted for questioning on writing bad checks across state lines.  I have not even left the state and I rarely write checks.  I know I had a batch of checks stollen a while back and changed accounts.  I wish he would send me a copy of the check and stop harrassing me and my family.

Well last week they were DNR and this week they are again Franklin Processing... and the person who left a voice mail, I could swear was a man said they were a Cynthia makario (not sure on spelling).  This time they did not state what the debt was, altho they have many times before.  Just said that it was imperative I return the call immediately.  I have reported these people to the BBB, the FTC and have the paperwork for the states attorney's office.    I want them to stop!!!

You will not get a summons on friday. This is just a scare tactic they are using to get you to pay them. You CANNOT be arrested for a payday loan. This was told to me by the Florida state attorney generals office. DO NOT SEND THEM ANYTHNG!!! If you want my advice, call them and DEMAND proof of the debt. By harassing them myself, they quit calling me. It works, and it's A LOT of fun!!!

caller stated he was from Franklin law firm. That I owed pay day loan near $2000. when I asked him for company name he refused to give it to me   he said I had 90 days to pay it or else they were going to turn it over to the authorities in West Virginia.  He said I had to pay over 300. dollars every 2 weeks or else.  He was very nasty and I told him there was no way I could pay that kind of money every 2 weeks.  He said I was refusing.  I told him no I would pay it but needed longer time.  He refused my request and said I had 2 hours to call him back or he was turning my info over to the authorities in west virginia.  Can they do that.  I am afraid to pay someone like that as to possibly being a scam.

I too have been getting these voicemails (robocalls) and finally a live call.  I called back and they told me that a woman got payday loan online with my social security number.  Also gave me her address and the amount still owed.  Said she used her "armed forces account".  The company has all my personal information.  Told me the lender asked that I file a police report and agree to press charges against the woman.  I am suppose to fax a copy of the police report to Franklin Processing to forward to the lender.  It sounds legit but when I called back and asked for a physical address they just said Jacksonville, FL and that they have a P.O. Box but no sense giving it to me since they don't need/accept any documents by mail.  I'm calling my attorney generals office.  Thankfully, my husband is an attorney and has some connections in that office.  I'll post what I find out about this company.

No paperwork, no debt. It's that simple.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

Debt Collector
I have also recently started receiving calls from a blocked number regarding a bounced check that I didn't write.  The representative called from a blocked number (which is illegal for real debt collectors to do by FTC law), and he said he was an "investigator" that was going to file this supposed bounced check with the district attorney and I was going to be arrested. I laughed since I have not written a check in almost 10 years.
Since I work in a credit related industry and know FTC laws, I called him out and harassed him. I asked him if he was a police investigator and he stuttered and then hung up on me. Then he called back and left me a message saying they were going to draft my bank account for this supposed debt and to call 855-884-4797 to work out payment options. Nice try buddy.  ONLY the Sheriff's department or local law enforcement can serve you with a warrant for a bounced check, not a debt collector. That is the law. And they cannot misrepresent themselves by saying they are with the local sherriff's office. That's a scare tactic and it's also illegal. Law enforcement would NOT call you to tell you they were coming to arrest you.  They also MUST provide you with a letter stating the debt you owe.  Not a word document emailed to you. Once the debt is sold to a collection agency, that collection agency CANNOT have you arrested, come to your office or home, sue you, garnish your wages, threaten you, or contact family or friends and speaking to them about the nature of your debt.  All they can do is try to collect a debt, which is why they resort to scare tactics. So don't let these idiots scare you. They prey on fear. Tell them to f*** off and hang up on them. DO NOT give them any personal information. Furthermore, if the check was due to a payday loan, the check is not considered a hot check because the payday loan company took the original check knowing you do not have the funds available, hence the reason for a payday loan!  It is still considered a debt owed, but the best course of action is to contact the original creditor and try to pay them, or find out who they sold the debt to.  Then work out a 50% payoff with the creditor. They would rather take something than nothing, since they purchase debts for 10 cents on the dollar anyway.  They are still making money. Furthermore, check the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act to learn your rights so these idiots and others like them don't intimidate you or cause you undue stress in the future. I hope this information helps.
