Debt Collector
I am getting calls from Courtney Wilkes claiming she is on the way to serve me at work but she doesn't even have the correct address.  I see tons of complaints against this Mustang Recovery (MR Group).  I have filed complaints with the FTC as well as the office of the Attorney General in my state, their state of Florida, and Delaware since that is where the illegal payday loan originated with PayDayMax.

Debt Collector
I got a call from a Mr. John Anderson, He said he was going to serve paper on me to appear on fraud charges. I almost fell for it until I checked them out and seen they are a scam company. I told reverse everything and he lost his mine. he started threatening me and lucky for me I recorded the whole thing and told him I was recording it and he said good, he was going to have me served on fraud charges and I told him I was going to report him to  the fdcpa he told me he didn't care that they were not a collection agency meaning I quess he didn't think the laws concern him but he is in the process of collecting a debt so just like lawyers who collect bdebts they are to abide by these laws also. So I filed a complaint with the mo. state AG office, the Mo. Financial Commision, the fdcpa. The Fl. AG office of crimes division. And I am getting ready to file a report with the FTC. when I asked Mr. Anderson for a letter of validation he said he didn't have to give me one because I wasn't paying him what he wanted. So I will let the authorities take care of things. After playing the recording to the fdcpa lawyer he has taken my case to sue these unethical clowns. I will let everyone know hoiw it comes out and then you can decide what you need to do. But please record every conversation with these clowns. I got a little recorder from Wal-Mart that cost about $20 and is worth it to have around when someone like this calls demanding your first born child, not really but I think you know what I am saying

Consumers across the country report that they're getting telephone calls from people trying to collect on loans the consumers never received or on loans they did receive but for amounts they do not owe. Others are receiving calls from people seeking to recover on loans consumers received but where the creditors never authorized the callers to collect for them. So what's the story?

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.>

Come today 7/27/12 day of first payment they call me and tell me my card was declined which couldnt be so I told them to run it again after I got off work I looked at my card balance and they had taken one transaction of 61.18 and one of 50.00. I get calls from these people all of the time. They harass me at work and leave messages with more info than they should. Somebody needs to shut them down. The newest calls are from Angela McCoy, who doesn't give a company name or even the name of a legal firm. I've gotten the sheriff calls too. It's a bunch of b***s***. Fortunately, we have security at work, so if anybody has the balls to show up where I work, I will have the cops make a record of it and immediately file harassment charges against them and sue them. I think the cops will be able to get their real information.  Even if they are collectors, it's illegal to hunt somebody down at the place of employment. If they come to my home, I will call the police and do the same thing. They remind me of some kind of loan shark collectors or racketeers. That stuff is illegal.

I contacted the FTC regarding the voices messages that I received from this company and based on what they said in their messages (which I saved) they are in violation of debt collection practices so I filed a complaint with them.  If anyone else has received these calls/messages from you are strongly urged to file a complaint.  The next step now is to have an attorney sue them for harrassment.

I had a voice message from this same phone number from a Mildred as well, and talk about RUDE. I have saved it and will be pursuing harrassment charges.  Just for fun I called this number back and got a garage door company. If this were even close to being legit, you would think they would at least provide a accurate phone to contact the so called plantif.....

I just got a call from an "unknown" number, I did not answer it. When I listened to this message, a VERY RUDE lady by the name of Mildred stated that she received a "summons & complaint" by fax regarding me. She then stated that I have one chance to contact the "plaintiff". Then in her VERY RUDE& UGLY tone she said, "Ms. Gates you have been officially served and slammed down the phone".  That is funny, because I am a M A N...  I know this is a scam and a telemarketer.  I work in the legal field for over 15 yrs, and I DO know that in any kind of court matter, or official service of court documents one can NOT get "officially" served by phone..And besides that, I DO NOT owe anyone or company any money..These HARASSING calls are a scam & if they continue I WILL be filing a complaint.  One word of advice to Ms. Rude Mildred, when you call someone make sure that you say the correct name and have the correct gender of who you are trying to contact, and do not call someone by a different name.

You will get caught, you will get shut down, and you will wind up in prison. Not in this case. Record and log their calls for use in court. DEMAND any alledged debt be verified with a letter of validation through the mail. demand their address and verify it. SUE for every FDCPA violation.
