I have an appointment for tomorrow. I received a text message saying that a tech had been dispatched to my house today. A few minutes later I received a phone call from this number, but no one was there when I answered. I hope they didn't take my answering as proof that I am home, because they called my cell phone (even tho I had told them to call my wife's phone when they were coming, as I am at work and unavailable. Even tho I appreciate them trying to fix my phone earlier than they said they could, I wish they would just stick to the scheduled appointments.

Not spam. This is not a scam. I do have an appointment today and Verizon is correctly calling on it.

I've been getting phone calls from Verizon techs for the last two weeks. I am getting tired of telling them you have the wrong number to the place they need to service. check the damn numbers before you give the techs. I am going to call the cops if this continues. it is your obligation to verify the number is correct. i did not even order any services and i don't even know where the company that ordered the services is

The recording says it is Verizon calling to confirm a scheduled appointment. It does not give the details and says if I have a question to call 1-800-Verizon and says Goodbye. Trouble is I don't have a scheduled appointment and no name is given for me to call back at 1-800-Verizon. This was early in the morning on March 31, 2014.

Ok, back. I just got offline with a Verizon Fios CSR. Here's the chat transcript - but bottom line, these calls about "Verizon installation" are a SCAM. DO NOT answer these calls and DO NOT provide any personal info, including your home address/or any telephone number/bank acct., etc to these callers whatsoever!

Since then, I've received a text last week "thanking" me for ordering Verizon Fios. Just now, I received a call from a supposed Verizon technican saying they were waiting for me at my home to install the service?
Adam(08:45:47): I am sorry for the difficulties.
Adam(08:45:57): Did you place the order for FiOS services?
You(08:46:07): did you read what I said?

Belinda(08:47:56): Did the text provide an order number?
You(08:48:07): no, but I never placed an order
You(08:48:26): plus, why am I now getting a call from a "Verizon tech" to install services that are NOT offered in my area?
Belinda(08:48:31): May I have the complete address with zip code?
You(08:48:50): [my address]
Belinda(08:49:05): Thank you. Give me a few moments to research this.
You(08:50:07): The "tech" who called me called from this number: 855-898-3244. They left a voice mail, said their name is Nathan, and that they were at my home to install service. Then I called the number right back, it's an automated call. It says this was about installation, please call 1-800-Verizon to reschedule?
You(08:51:27): Also, you should know I'm not the only one this is happening to. Look here: http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-855-898-3244#p677001231892130588
Belinda(08:52:57): Your address does not even show as an area we service. May I have the number the tech called you on to see if I can locate the information this way. I can tell you we will not be installing services at the address you provided because we do not offer any services to that location. It is provided my another telecommunication company.
You(08:54:30): [my number]
Belinda(08:54:35): Thank you
Belinda(08:59:31): Thank you for waiting. I am unable to find any orders for your number. I did look at the link you provided and am sending this to our security office. However, back to your issue, we will not be installing any services to your home as we do not offer any services to your location. We appreciate you bringing this issue and site to our attention. Our security office will be researching this.
You(08:59:50): Ok, thanks.

I just received a call from this number and they left a message as "Nathan from Verizon" saying it was related to my Verizon installation. Except...Verizon is not offered in my area, because I checked before I subscribed to my current (other) cable company. I tried calling the number back and an automated number said the call was about installation, to please call 1-800-Verizon to reschedule. I'm going to chat with Verizon Fios online now and find out what this is about. Last week, I received a text from "Verizon," thanking me for signing up. WTF? I don't have them as providers in my area. This is either a scam (very likely) or Verizon Fios is as much of a mess as the rest of the cable/internet companies. I'll update after my chat with Verizon Fios.

I got a phone call from this number. If it was FIOS/Verizon calling to speak to me about my service call, they were calling on a dead line, the one they were supposed to be coming to fix! And all he said was "Hello" and no other message. How dumb is that?
| Nobody 2014-01-21 13:33:16 Unknown |
Supposedly a Verizon number. I have no reason for them to be calling me. Probably a scam or wrong number.

I had a message on my voice mail at 8:10am today on a phone that is scheduled to be repaired today. The message was garbled. Why call that number instead of the cell number that is on record? The Verizon Tech could not repair the line and he took a personal phone call on his phone while my husband was standing and waiting for him to explain what was wrong. He wanted to come into the house and my husband would not let him because we were told if it was wiring in the house, we would be charged. He was rude and my husband told him to leave. Hubby call Verizon and told them to send someone else. We shall see.

Verison home phone /fios repair.
Medical emergency phone line is dead and it still takes 3 days for someone to show
up even if it is there network issue...a non medical emergency house call was given
for a tech show up in 15 days.
I love the fast service as we grow in population and needing
vital communication services even more the service will get worse .it's already in
a kind of zombie land, perhaps zombie is too good a word .

Yes, this is Verizon in home repair ,when i called this you
get an electronic voice that asks for your problematic phone number and
confirms the time a tech person will show up using "military time" 20:15

Second or possibly third different number calling from a supposed verizon tech guy about coming to fix the modem. I haven't called them, everything is working fine so I think its a fishing expedition.

This FIOS tech is a major a***ole, He called my number and said I would now be required to reschedule my FIOS installation cause I was not home! but the joke is on him cause I never had an appointment in the first place! :) Now some poor person is waiting for his call/installation, probably took off work and it will not happen cause he called me by mistake! He obviously needs to take a chill pill cause he is listed here by numerous people! Slow down Joe... you'll live longer!
| frank 2013-08-23 12:39:39 Unknown |
Same thing here...only problem is tha I don't subscribe to Verizon nor have I set up an installation with them. I've tried to call Verizon to find out what's up...the voice message says there is no one available to talk to me and hangs up! ?????

This number does belong to a Verizon FIOS field technician.
I'm wondering if it's the same person because the guy that called me was also checking to see if anyone was available to do a FIOS installation.
This guy wanted to come by earlier than my scheduled appointment. I told him that I just got to bed about thirty minutes before he called and that it would be a big hassle if he came by any sooner than my scheduled afternoon four hour window...
He became seriously unfriendly and pissed off, telling me that it's going to take six hours and he didn't know if he could finish it in the same day.
After that uncomfortable ordeal, I had to call Verizon. I asked them if they can replace the technician since I didn't feel good about this guy being in my house or handling my sensitive personal information.
Believe it or not, the same guy called back acting like he was another technician asking me if I had scheduled an appointment. Originally, he told me his name was Steve. I asked him what his name was and he said it was called Joe. I cannot wait to ask to see his Verizon ID before I let him into my home.
I hope I was mistaken and his name tag says, Joe!
Crazy stuff for sure!

This number belongs to a Verizon FIOS field technician who was checking to see if you were home for him to make FIOS repair/ installation at your home. However, he was somewhat unfriendly and impatient.
