They called and I can't return call

Had the same thing yesterday at work (I'm in the UK). They called into my work number, asked who they were speaking with, I advised them my first name and then they said my second name, as if to know who I was. I confirmed and they hung up...very strange! Has anyone managed to find out who these people are?

they are using Magic jack

the caller id  read DO NOT PICKUP  and of coursr I didn't.
I never do when I don't recognize the caller.
these people are nasty , stinking , filthy C***s trying to scam people.

they are using magic jack ( its voip) just pick up the phone and hang up.Another thing you can do is make up a foreign language (gibberish)

Received two calls this morning from this number.  I did not answer and they did not leave a message on my voicemail.  The reason I did not answer is that my caller id showed "Do Not Pickup" as the name of the person calling.  I assumed it was some sort of scam.

Received call from this number. Foreign sounding man identified himself as Dr. Edward Garcia. Said he had been in my business, did I remember him. Then hung up.

Received a call from this number.  Said my name, first and last and then confirmed it was me and hung up.  Any ideas would be helpful.

Our main receptionist didn't pick up a call from this number because the ID was listed on her computer screen as "don't pick up."  Immediately afterward, I took a call from a man with an Asian accent at a different number, asking for our company president. When I asked who was calling, he said ____ from UPS, and said he had a package for our president.  It's not uncommon for our president to receive packages, so when he asked again for our president by name and did they work here, I said yes, and he hung up.  I had no idea this kind of thing was going around until out main receptionist explained the scam and showed me how to look up numbers.  Glad that you have this site, and I'll spread the word about how to look up numbers through you.  Thanks.

what is the purpose of this caller!

Same story.....very annoying.

Obviously you people don't get it. They are phone number harveting by name association. Rude stinking scumbags will do anything for a dime....

I got a call about a month ago at work asking for me by my old name. When I confirmed it was me, he said F*** You and hung up. He had blocked the caller ID. Today he called again and this time it showed up on caller id with this number 856-204-0000 and it showed up as ALL LIMO. He confirmed my name, stated he was a lawyer and then hung up in the middle of his sentence.

Why can't this guy be shutdown if all these people are getting these calls?

I don't know who this number belongs to and I don't want to receive calls from this number.

Just got a call and caller ID said : CAR NETWORK - 9,1-8562040000.  
The person said my name and I said "speaking" and they hung up straight away.
The person sounded Eastern European to me

I get these same calls 2 or more times an hour everyday at work. I know they are trying to get me to say yes. I keep telling them to stop calling, they have the wrong number, they are a problem, dont call again...they reply with, "I will call again". So, they do over and over and over again. They need to be stopped. I have work to do and it slows me down.

I just received a call from this number and caller ID stated "Car Network".  He asked for me by name and after I said "yes", he hung up.  Tried to call back number, but it does not accept incoming calls.  Very Creepy!!

This number has called me at work several times over the past two weeks and four times in a row this morning. It shows up on my ID as either "CAR NETWORK" or "ALL, LIMO." Every time they ask for a woman who hasn't worked here in 5 years and every time I tell them to take the number off the list. It has been the same man every time and I spoke with him 4 times within 5 minutes this morning telling him she doesn't work here and he kept calling back and asking for her. I could barely understand him but the last time he called and I asked what it was about he said something about a package. He always hangs up very fast. SO ANNOYING!!

The call came to my coworker and transferred to me, asked for me by first and last name.  When I answered it was the same drill.  Middle eastern accent/male.  Caller ID says Car Network.

Received a call from a person with an Indian accent claiming he was from Bank of America asking for an employee who works at my company.  Asked him for his information and phone number, he said he did not have to give it to me.  I said as a company you do have to provide your information before I give you any information. I said to remove us from your calling list and by the way George this phone call is being recorded.  He said thank you and f***k you and slammed the phone down.

Is there any way to keep the individuals at 856-204-0000 from calling my number.  I have repeatedly ask that the individuals calling would stop.  When I tell them that this is not a company and tht they will only get in touch with me at this number, they are rude and condescending.

These guys constantly call my job. When I hang up I get another phisher from the number (206) 203-7316. When I hang up on them I then get this number calling again and so on and so on so I believe they are the same people. Dumb guy said he was from Starbucks, that would be a Seattle area code not New Jersey.  We just hang up on him or transfer him back to a call center in India.

Received a call from a man at 1:46 p.m. on 2/13/2012.  He asked for a person and I told him that we do not have anyone of that name here.  He started to spell the name and I told the guy that we do not have anyone of that name here.  He told to F*** off and hung up.

caller called asked for me by name and i said i was not there and he said aren't you Betty and i said no again and i asked what this was in regards to he said he was my doctor and wanted to confirm my appointment. i told him this was a work place and he was not suppose to call here and he said his name was Dr. Smith. needless to say i do not have a doctor by this name  so i knew it was a scam and i told him again i was not there and  he hung up.
