I talked to this guy and he said the company name is Starion which appears to be legit. However, when I see how they market themselves, I'm not interested.

Startel llc is a telemarketing company with a large number of types of clients. They are also; in my opinion, a criminal organization that gets away with violating the law because they are paid up with the right people. Not only do they not respect the 'Do Not Call' registries, they use those very same lists to select people to call. In addition, in some cases, particularly when they represent power suppliers, if they can trick you into revealing your account information they will switch you to a new supplier without your consent.

Totally illegal, but in their arrogance they feel that they are above the law. And actually, given that the FTC and FCC allow them to get away with it, I suppose they technically are. After all, the law that is written is rarely the law that is actually enforced. Good luck getting justice through the usual channels.

So what do you do when the law and law enforcement fail to protect you? You have to get creative and protect yourself. I will be the last to advocate violence against them but if violence is used I won't shed any tears. What I do, is I set up my selective call forwarding to automatically forward their calls back to their own toll-free sales department. That way they can call themselves; instead of me, and on their own dime. I am sure other creative things can be done with their other direct contact points. Especially if a lot of people do it, and flood them with their own spam. This is their contact info:

I got a call from these starlet people saying I filled out an auto loan application for them and I did not. Then they say that if i wanted a brand new car that they will "help" me fill out an application for me to get a brand new car. I told them they can go screw themselves and to quit calling. These people from starlet are nothing but identity theives that will rob innocent people of their credit and money if given a chance. MY ADVICE IS TO STAY AWAY FROM THESES PEOPLE. THEY ARE NOTHING BUT SCAM ARTIST THAT WANTS TO STEAL PEOPLE PERSONAL INDENTIES  &  CREDIT. THE PEOPLE AT STARLET SPEAKS BROKEN ENGLISH. THEY SPEAK WITH AN INDIA OR ARABIC ACCENT. SOUNDS LIKE THEY ARE FROM A FOREIGN COUNTRY... BEWARE AND KEEP AWAY FROM THIS SCAMMERS... THEY WILL ROB YOU BLIND ALONG WITH YOUR CREDIT.

Annoying call 856 335-1769. Want to report it from Startel LLC

I  am do not call list. Caller does not speak and hangs up. Happens often on my land line in NJ.

No message left on machine. They just call, and machine shows Startel,LLC. Called me 4 times yesterday and once so far today at 0956.I picked up phone and they hung up?

Caller ID was "STARTEL LLC."  Presumed telemarketer.

Just got a call them pretending to be my power company asking me to grab my electric bill and provide them with the account details. I told sorry not interested and the guy was getting very persistent. I said i'm not interested and hanged the phone. He called back and I declined the call. WTF is going on with these companies trying to scam people.

Again and again and again, this number calls me from early in the morning until late at night.
And, like so many other "victims," I am on both the state and federal "do not call" lists. Something has to be
done about the burgeoning volume of predatory callers.S

Maybe they would like a few unwanted calls themselves.

We have received 12 calls from Startel, LLC in the past 8 days.  When our answering machine picks up, they hang up. We are on the DNC list and also have never done business with this company. Have filed a complaint with the FCC so now we'll be getting calls from them I guess to "follow up" on our complaint.  After receiving 42 telemarketer calls in the past 15 days, it's time to disconnect our land line!

I've noticed that since I filed my numbers (home and cell phones) with the DO NOT call registry I began to get morre calls than I used to get before I filed,   I thought registering the numbers was supposed to STOP or mininmize these calls.

Just this jack*** # listeed through my e-mail dialed and it disconnected  just another number to add to block list.Another mental case who has a phone.

We are on the do not call list and get calls from this number at all hours of the day.  They do not leave a message.

They keep calling and no one is there so annoying

I have received FIVE phone calls from this number which turned out to be a telemarketing "switch your electric company" scam of some sorts.

these people call constantly, during work hours so we are not home, no voicemail....when i call back the number since they won't stop, there's one ring a pick up and a hang up......i have reported them to the FCC as we are in the Do not call list.

I've also stopped answering the phone if I don't recognize the caller, or if the caller id is "non-specific", i.e., "Illinois caller."  Does anyone know the government agency that is supposed to be regulating this kind of thing?

keeps calling after 8:30pm and leaves no message

I keep getting these calls all day and everyday - when I answer they say nothing - I 'm on the DO NOT CALL LIST why are they allowed to harrass us . I'm fed up of these calls !!!!!

Friday, January 10, 2013 incoming 8:20 pm call from Startel LLC, 856-335-1765 wanting me to switch electric suppliers at a lower rate.  I told female caller no.  She insisted saying "Don't you want to lower your bill?"  Addressed me with a family persons name who doesn't live with me and not listed on any of my utility bills.  I asked her to remove my number from their call list. I don't believe this is a legitimate company.

This is the same telemarketing group that tried to force people to change their phone service. Don't trust a word they say. Block them all. I suspect them to be part of Rachel or Card Service Scam.

Received a call, and hung up they are scammers, the DNCL works only for real telemarketers, these people do not get a copy of the DNCL from the FTC who maintains it and passes it out to real business' every month. These worthless people do not follow any rules. Just last month the numbers reported to the FTC were able to locate Credit Card services in Florida and busted them. It is not that the FTC and FCC are worthless, the FCC only takes calls for real telemarketers. The FTC has the data base to report scam callers, debt collectors and ID theft.

I received a call from LLC STARTEL and they wanted me to switch providers for my electricity.  I can not find any information about this company, if it is legitiment or not.

I just got a hilarious "butt dial" from this number!  The woman was chatting with a co-worker, it sounded like.

Well then what do you call what they are doing if not COLD CALL. The person I spoke to (just so happened I was home sick today, usually they call and leave no messages) talked down to me like I was an idiot and tried to get me to get all my electric bills together to go over with them. I told them I was satisfied with what I pay and they asked how would I know if that was a good price. I told them, because I have talked to other people in my area and they pay much more..............DAH!!! They talked to me like I was some 12 yr old kid and knew nothing about life. Well, let me tell you I am 65 and have been on my own since my husband died 10 yrs ago, and previous to that I was on my own.
