I too got the same message as Mary. I knew it was a scam because I do not give out my cell number. I only hope people don't give out their personal information from a text!!

I have received the same text as above (Mary and Danny). The next business day we all need to report this to the Better Business Bureau Bureau (of your state) and your bank. This seems to be and old scam brought on by new idiots. I'm sure their are numerous others like us and I hope they will be careful too.

Just another scam...probably from some Nigerian who's living on welfare who got tired of sending those "bank transfer letters" from the Minister of Finance from Nigeria looking for your bank account number - so they can trnasfer money out of their country, (and of course, you can keep the interest!)!

Just don't ever call back a company that you don't belong to in the first place.  We're on the cell phone do not call list, and this came through anyway.  Be careful out there!

Daughter received a text message from this number from a Kalamazoo County State Bank stating account was closed saying to enter credit card number to reactivate the account.  Checked on line to see if there was such a bank and found out there is and they have been notified of the scammers using their name.  Went to their website and this was posted:

"As of February 5, 2009 we have become aware that fraudulent automated phone calls are being made representing Kalamazoo County State Bank, asking for your card and PIN number. THIS IS A SCAM, DO NOT RESPOND TO THESE CALLS. If you have given out your card and PIN number, please call 1-800-523-4175 and close your card immediately.
Please call us during banking hours at 269-679-5291 to have your card reissued. As always we will never contact you by any means (email, phone, etc.) and ask for your card and PIN number."
