I beleive these calls are from a bill collecting agency NOT DIRECT TV as the recording on call back says!

I called Direct TV for pricing last week and their prices are to high. I received a follow-up call to sign up.  Why?  They suck and they are to expensive.

I called and the ass___e that answered hung up on me 3 or 4 times.  I just called them a couple of weeks ago for pricing and they are not competitive in my area (Florida) and I never gave it another thought until they started calling me.  In the south we have a saying, "that dog won't hunt". If they call me again I'll put a whammy on them.

Do not call DirectTV for ANYTHING and just thank God you are not a subscriber with them. If you think you have it bad you should see the HELL people are going through who are subscribers with them and forced to pay monthly for poor/no customer service, not getting the packages they are paying for but being forced to pay for them anyway. Just ignore the calls and pat yourself on the back that you're not a customer of theirs.

UPDATE: I was actually placing a call to a local number due to the way my phone handles redialing.

Got a call from this number aftersigning up for DirecTV. The person hung up.  When calling back, I was prompted to leave a message for "Andrew's voicemail." Perhaps it's a kit impersonating DirecTV. It's not that hard to fake a caller ID.

I too have been getting calls from the 858-428-3224 number here at my workplace.  After my greeting the person on the calling end mumbles a few words and then hangs up.  When I called the number I got someone answering with Direct TV.  He informs me that they are just returning a call to this number because I called them asking for service, which is, of course, completely untrue, and noone else uses my direct line at my workplace.  If it were true, why do they always hang up after my business/work greeting instead of engaging me in a conversation for services?  This is the worst kind of marketing - instrusive and abusive and completely dishonest.  Come on Direct TV!  Is this what you want to be known for?  Yuck!!

Stop calling our house

These MF'ers just don't give up. They leave blank msg multiple times/day. Once I got a guy on the line who said we had called to sign up for Direct TV service...which was a lie (their service sucks).

SO NOW I AUTO-DIAL THEIR PHONE SEVERAL TIMES DAILY AND JUST LET IT RING TO GIVE THEM SOME OF THEIR OWN MEDICINE.
YOU'ALL SHOULD DO THE SAME TO TIE UP THEIR LINE FOREVER. TEACH THEM A LESSON!

this number keeps calling and never leaves a message...just blank air.  Has been calling 1-2 times daily even over the weekend I have 2 blank messages on Monday.

Several calls claiming they have an appointment with me.

I've been getting for the past 2 weeks. I finally answered the call on Friday. I got a woman  and she announced herself. The woman said that they got a call that I wanted DirecTV service. The problem is is that I have DirecTV service already; had it for several YEARS. So, I gave her some BS about calling her back; She said she she would call me back the next day. Which she did callback.

The caller is Direct TV. Received a call from the number. Answered and got nothing but static. Then they hung up. I called back and it went to a voice prompt, then to an operator who answered the phone as DirectTV
