Yes - I get calls from this number too - and like the ones above it is about phone service. It is not a debt collector. They are calling an Office when they call my Number. They have only talked once - yet they continue to call. I told them to remove our number. Because I told them they would never reach the owner calling that number - they keep calling back. ARGH.

We get calls all day long.  When we answer, they just hang up.  Wrote down from caller ID - 858-428-3288.  Really annoying bc our phone rings enough as is with patients trying to schedule appointments!

Just received a call from this number. The lady stated that she wanted to speak to the owner of our AT&T account.  I asked if she knew who the owner was and she said no.  This immediately sent up red flags, because had she been from AT&T she would've known the account number and the name on the account.  I put her on hold as I went online to research the number and landed here.  I read the comments on the first page and deduced that it was indeed a SCAM.  I took her off hold and told her that the owner wasn't available and asked if I could take a message.  She abruptly exited the conversation saying, "No, it's just a courtesy call...<CLICK>.  Boy I tell ya, the things people will do for an extra buck.

enuff is enuff.  when is someone going to do an undercover op on this place to see how rude & crude their solicitors are?  When you tell them, nicely at 1st, rudely umpteen calls later that you aren't interested they are hateful & nasty just the same.  HOW CAN WE MAKE IT STOP ???

OK So here is the scam as I have experienced it.The scammer is either trying to slam onto your phone bill or trying to get you to give them info. with which to rip you off. Most of these scumbags operate from other countries so they can get around the laws in the U.S.A. They will pose as ATT or an agent of ATT, they then ask you for your security code (the digits after the main phone number on your account. They do this to try to put unauthorized charges onto your phone bill in the hope that it will go unnoticed by the payable department. Businesses in this country need to be able to protect themselves like individuals can. The do not call list does not apply to businesses. You can ask them not to call and they are supposed to honor that for 6 months. Sorry, noone is watching or enforcing jack squat here. Be diligent and unfortunately, do not trust anyone you do not know. That is the reality we are all living with and it stinks. I waste too much time with this crap.

they called me once yesterday and once today, same guy, 8584283288 from Birch Communications. asking about my phone bill, very weird. do not ever give these people any information.

And another call from these bottom feeding scumbags.  Obviously any requests to be removed from their calling lists go unheeded and require complaints to the DNC and FCC.  The little twit who called me was in the middle of a laughing fit when she bungled her scammer spiel after a minute of dead air.  There's a special place in hell for these scammers.  The caller ID just says "Long Distance D".

Our office also is receiving a rash of hang-up calls, and those from this number started last week.

FYI, I just tried 1-800-506-5899 and got the recording that this is a non-terminating number with phonepeople.com.

Received three calls today from 858-428-3288 - all hung up as soon as our phone ws answered.  Traced the call to 800-506-5899, and as another poster suggested, call to have our number removed.  Received the message that it "is a non-terminating number with phonepeople.com" number for both numbers.  Next call will be to AT&T to block; although it would be fun to string these people on for a bit!

Same as most here. Phone rings, no answer.  Caller ID simply says "Long Distance".

Called asking to speak to whomever handles the AT&T account. When queried if she was with AT&T, replied no, Birch Communications. I told her that I'm not interested and not to call back.

Our office gets a call from this number EVERY DAY. There is never anyone there. We try to call back and it says that all representatives are busy and they will call back. Left the message...no call back.

I think this may be a company called Pacwest Telecom in California. There number is 800-511-9048

That's a new one!  If "dub ya"  was still President, the world would be perfect and there would never been another boiler room call.  Maybe Obama causes earthquakes too.

This number calls our office repeatedly every day, several times a day. When we try to call it back, no one says anything.

Been calling my parents house several times a day for the past month, each time asking for my dad by his name and when my mom says he's not home (because he really isn't) they just hang up on her.  Upon trying to call them back to ask to be removed from their calling list a recording states that our number has been blocked for calling them too much (which is crazy because it was the very first time we had called them.)

The recording gave my mom an idea though, she called our local phone company (which is Comcast) to see if their number can be blocked from calling our number and it is possible and easy to do!

Everyone, just dial *60 (again this is with Comcast, no idea if all local companies have this feature) and it will give you step by step instructions on how to block a particular number from calling your house.  The only catch is you can only have a dozen numbers on this block list.

I tested it by blocking my cell phone number and the recording gives a message with something like "Sorry this number is not accepting calls at the moment, try again at another time."

i got a call from this number, male stated that he could lower my verizon bill.  I asked him where he was calling from he said MN, I said "no what company", he said " wow you are really funny aren't you."  He then hung up

some guy claimed that he is from ATT or something and would lower my bill by $17 ....

Just got that call, but I am also near a computer so I saw that it was a marketing company from out of state, and I never answer them. Here's something I learned recently: These computer calls, that hang up when you answer, are actually part of the marketing strategy. Their computer is logging when their call is answered, so that the company knows the best time to call where someone will actually answer. So, if you answer, you have just told them the best time to get a person on the phone at your number. Eventually, one of their sales people will call at that time. Also, now that their computer has logged the information about your phone answering habits, they can sell the information to others. Your choice? Get an expensive lawyer, or USE CALLER ID.

We also receive numerous calls from this caller, with no response. This telephone number was traced and is located in La Jolla  CA, but I wasn't able to get any other information than what the previous writers spoke about.

I can getting this from yesterday and when i answer the call they just hang up!
