Call placed to my office - no message left, but my caller-id says "Harte Hanks Inc".

Caller called said he was calling from Hewlett Packard asked to speak with someone in City Hall.

Harte Hanks is a very reputable global direct and targeted marketing research company based in San Diego CA. Formerly, Computer Intelligence, the company was founded in 1923, Harte-Hanks today is a worldwide direct and targeted marketing company that provides direct marketing services and shopper advertising opportunities to local, regional, national, and international consumer and business-to-business marketers.  My suggestion, having worked with them business to business for over 25 years, is that you ask to be removed from their calling list.

You have to be off your rocker, Sharon. We've asked to be removed several times and they do not listen.

I just answered a call from 8585351418 and they wanted me to confirm the postal code / zip code for the area where I am, I started to question them, the first portion of the code they gave me was correct for the area then the last portion I couldn't recognize to they wanted to know mine, I told them there is a postal code directory check with it, they said thank you and hung up ?????????

Called several times over the last few weeks on my work line, left no message.  Caller ID states:  Harte Hanks Inc.  I decided to answer when they called today.  A lady asked to speak to the individual who is responsible for our phone and internet systems.  I stated "Sorry, I don't know who that would be".  She then hung up.

I missed it on 9-3-10 at 9.36am.  They called my work and left a msg with nothing in it.

Received a call from this number, left no message.  They called again - a marketing firm of some sort following up on a technical paper I had downloaded from a different network management company web site. Told them "no thankyou" and they hung up.

I got a call from this number on 8/11/10 at 8:32am and didn't pick it up. I got another call at 9:29am. The caller said he was from EMC (a computer storage hardware company) and this was a follow-up call to an EMC sponsored event I attended in July. He said he wanted to ask a few questions about my storage environment at the company I work for and it would only take a couple of minutes and I would get a few free gifts. I asked what kind of gifts and he said a follow-up call from a storage vendor and an email newsletter. Big WOW. So I asked what company he worked for and then he said Harte Hanks and that they have been doing these calls for EMC for the past 8 years. I thanked him and said I wasn't interested.

I stopped 99% of these calls from getting in by simply setting up a PBX (Phone System) at my house.  It is a little expensive up front but is well worth it.  All it takes is a computer, a special card with a "line in" and a "line out", and a piece of software that is free.  

Most people have a computer laying around that they don't use anymore so this piece is free, the special card is called a TDM Card and will cost about $300 for a basic one, and the software can be downloaded online for free and there are many of them, check out TrixBoxCE, Elastix or FreePBX.

call went to vmail. no message left

Received a call on my cell from this 858-535-1418.

The exact same scenario happened in Virginia.  Be careful.

Got two calls from 858-535-1418. Left No message. I do not answer calls if I do not know where it is originating.

Said they were calling on behalf of Shoretel...even spelled it for me. When I requested a ohone number to return the call, she said tehy did not have a return call number. I told her not to call us again and remove us from list and hung up.

Answered yesterday and wished I hadn't. Asked for somebody in IT, told them we don't have an IT department, then asked for the controller. I told them I couldn't help them and hung up. Called back immediately, but I didn't answer. I flagged the number as a solicitor in the system so now I don't answer it but it goes to the auto-attendant. Called 6 times today! Very rude and obnoxious.

Have received two calls on mobile phone in the last week, no message.

No message, just number that caller-id picked up.

Telemarketer, calling as if EMC corporation and had a IT survey.

Called during lunch hour.  Left no message in voice mail.  5th or 6th time and no message.

I've experienced extreme rudeness from their callers.  I spoke to Tanya Greene who is not among one you could call rude.  I was able to have our company removed from their list within 24 hours.

Thank goodness for *69 sometimes (our office doesn't have Caller ID).  Some doof called from this number and claimed he was Qwest Communications.  Next time he or someone else calls claiming they're from Qwest, I'm going to tell them to remove the number from their solicit list (which they most likely won't).  Going to contact this Harte-Hanks company too and tell them the same.  (see a copy of the post below for info.)

I missed the call. The person who fielded the call to my voicemail said the caller was a: Pat Fitzgerald
Upon returning the call, the receptionist kindly told me that it belonged to a "lead generating company" in a call center.

wanted to talk to me, hardly knew my name. said they were from "polycomm" left me a vmail, it was just a dial tone, they hung up. grow some balls!

They wanted to do a survey about storage and backup products for EMC.

Called my cell phone and asked about my employment in the middle of class, wanted to call me at work. Very annoying and deceptive.

Continues to call me at work, never leaves a voicemail. I dont answer numbers I don't recognize because too many vendors call me as it is.

Called claiming to be from "Levanto" or some such, apparently a "Linux management tool".  Since that's appropriate for my job listened until she came up for air and then told her I would be happy to read any documents about her product she would care to send me via email.  She said she did not have access to email.  I said ok.  She said thanks and hung up.  Obviously a telemarketer with a script and not an actual corporate salesperson.
