I had to call this group to cancel an appt to my home that my disabled elderly mother made in error. When I called back asking what they did and what they were about the woman answering the phone became very rude, asking me what business I had to cancel an appt that I didn't even make. She went on to tell me that since I didn't make the appt I am not the one to cancel it. When I put my mother on the phone the woman  became confrontational and my mother couldn't get a word in at all.  My mother handed the phone to me and the woman at Paradigm had the audacity to tell me she didn't like my tone and accused me of being rude. THE PEOPLE AT PARADIGM ARE RUDE. Sure they sweet talk you to set up an appt to sell their goods, but as soon as you question them or cancel an appt they turn into vicious, mean, rude voices. Snake oil salesmen are what they are.

I had a guy knock on the door- my husband told him he would listen to him but we were NOT buying a vacuum. Well, the guy was here for about 1.5 hours... cleaned several things in our house and after seeing how good it worked we were convinced we NEEDED a Kirby. When he announced the price we said NO WAY. after negotiating for another 30 mins we wound up with a beautiful Kirby for $900. Thats about what my mother paid 30 years ago. I love it... My husband sanded down our steps with the sanding attachment and there was absolutely no dust. I can understand how the sales people can be pushy- and sometimes misleading, but can you tell me of any 100% honest salespeople??

This number is a front for Kirby, ya know the vacuum cleaner that costs as much as a used car?  When I first moved to SD I was naive enough to let them in to clean the carpet as a demo...when I told them I was not interested in paying nearly 4 grand for a vacuum over 3 years they said "oh but it is more than a carpet cleaner, let me show you what it can do for matresses and furniture and blah blah blah"

Long story short, they would not leave, just keep coming up with diversions.  I had to literally throw them out with an intimidating voice and phone in my hand threatening to call 9-11.  This was on a saturday night at 9:30, after 4 hours of aggressive sale pitches.  I felt sorry for the salesguys, because it shows the desperation.

Just got call from 858-558-8136 saying they were Paradigm Carpet Cleaning service offering to clean one room free with dry foam to advertise their service. I smelled a rat, and hung up. Glad to see many others in this post did the same. Lying, liers who lie!

Got a call with a sales pitch, but they made it sound like they had cleaned here before. Called back to cancel appointment and they wouldn't take no for an answer. Thankfully I'm going out of town and could dodge their scam.  They think they know all the tricks, but anyone who has worked sales will here the empty promises and bail.

I am 80 years old I had young man ring my door and came to my house and offer free carpet clean.
I talk to my daughter and had her to call them,  she find out it is totally scam. She asked me don't open the door for your appt. Paradigm company's new number is 858-558-8037. My advise to every body don't let anybody enter your house even they offer free product.

They are at it again!! It's Kirby (aka BestCo, Paradigm, etc) selling their oversized, overpriced (over $2000.00) vacuum cleaners. They are a third-party distributor who employs unsuspecting kids on a 1099 to canvas, sell, and get rejection from customers.

Calls from (858) 558-8107 are to be ignored. Do NOT call them back, make an appointment or let them on your property. If you even SEE them in your neighborhood: record with your camera phone, get their license plate (unmarked vehicle) and call the police. Especially if you have elderly, disabled or females who live alone!!

Gentlemen:  Our company has been in business 92 years in San Diego and L.A. You don't lie and make false promises and do that. I was told on the phone that they could take care of a bedbug problem by some new method. As soon as I saw Kirby on the box I knew there was a problem. My younger brother sold Kirby cleaners forty years back. They were highly overpriced then. These guys didn't go near the bed. Scam is putting it mildly. I think the district attorney should be contacted,  Daniel Henderson. P.S The sad part is,I did have a potential buyer for 10 machines for them. I'm glad i didn't make that recommendation.

Uh-oh it's the Kirby sales ppl at it again. They use different company names and phone numbers to call you. If that doesn't work, they use the "fruit basket left at your door" trick. Just remember, don't talk to them, answer your door or return their call. Whatever you do, DON'T LET THEM ENTER YOUR HOME OR PROPERTY.

If you see them, call the police, especially if you have any elderly neighbors. Get their license plate# and take cell phone pictures. This company (Best, Paradigm or whatever) hires kids, then teaches them to LIE to customers. The kids fail to know that they won't get paid. Kirby keeps ALL the first weeks sales. Kid gets 1099 which means kid pays his own taxes, work comp, etc.

Horrible company. If you need a vacuum, just go the Target, Wal-Mart, etc and pay $40.00 or so instead of a $2000.00 Kirby and kids who may case your neighborhood.

I too received a call from Paradigm of Pacific Beach, CA offering 2 rooms of free carpet cleaning. They asked what type of vacuum cleaner I used. I asked why they needed to know and no mention of Kirby was mentioned. They said it was part of what they needed to complete the free service. I got very suspicious. After checking this blog, I feel sure it is a scam. I called there number to cancel and only got a recorder. I think there tactics are awful and should be reported.

I'm surprised that Kirby (and Rainbow and Filter Queen) are still peddling their anachronistic, heavy, clunky vacuums door-to-door.  Modern vacuums like Dyson are eating their lunch.

I got a phone call today from them about a free carpet and upholstery cleaning with a foam cleaner.  I figured they were going to try and sell a new foam cleaner and didn't make any appointment.

Now that people are saying it was Kirby I'm extra glad I didn't make any appointment.  I got a free so-called carpet cleaning in 2001 and got pushed into buying a $1600 Kirby vacuum cleaner which I've regretted ever since.  Will never buy another one.  They are heavy and clonky and yeah, they vacuum good and last long, but the attachments are hard to put on, you have to buy bags, and I don't like the carpet cleaner attachment.  I prefer a cheaper new type of bagless vacuum.  The sales people are horrible for Kirby.

These ppl are liars. Left some note on my front door about a missed delivery. When I called, some you kid answered hello like he's not at a business. Noise of kids heard the background. Wanted to do free upholstery cleaning. Yeah right. My daughter remembered the phone# from a job ad on craigslist. It's a third-party telemarket co for Kirby Vacuums!!!

Here in San Diego county, this company is HATED by homeowners. The hire teenagers under self-employment  or independent contractor (so the co has NO tax liability). Talk about 21st century slavery. Then they teach these unsuspecting kids how to LIE on the phone to homeowners. Yep, the kids face the brunt of rejection along with a tax liability. Meanwhile the co makes $$$.

If I even see them in my neighborhood, I will automatically use my cell phone camera and call the police.

I do not appreciate being scammed like this!  I received a little slip on my front door saying I'd missed a basket of fruit and to call the number.  Turns out it's someone from Paradigm trying to give me a "free" cleaning and they'll bring the fruit when they come.  No thank you!  And I foolishly wasted my precious time trying to call the number (three times!) thinking a friend had done something nice for me.

It's a 3rd party, door-2-door telemarketer co for KIRBY Vacuums. They go by various names like the BEST Co, etc. Their telemarketers are a bunch of kids taught how to lie to homeowners. Also, they are given 1099 as opposed to W-4. Some of their previous employees where involved in the kidnapping/assault of an elderly woman in San Diego. She lived and testified against them. I could go on and on. My advice? Be silent and hang up on them. Never let them in your home!
