Caller claimed they would clean a room and the stairs.

It was Kirby.

Yes they wanted to se the whole house (did not happen).
They shampooed half a room (family room) so that half the carpet was clean and the other half dirty. WTH. They stopped when they realized I was not going to buy the vacuum after 3 hours.
Who do I report this dishonest behavior to?

Charming girl 'Michelle" called with an offer of free carpet cleaning of 2 rooms with no obligation to buy anything. They were testing a new dry cleaning product. I made an appointment for an hour later.

Something didn't feel right so I called back right away to cancel the appointment and was told Michelle would call me back.  I said but I haven't given you my name or number so how would she know who to call ? The person said "You are the only appointment Michelle has made today.  We know your name and number" or words to that effect. I said just cancel the appointment and hung up.

Then I checked their phone number on line and found that they are a telemarketing scam! It was a  creepy discovery.  Fortunately I realized in time that I'd made a mistake in almost letting them in my apartment.

Uh-oh it's the Kirby sales ppl at it again. They use different company names and phone numbers to call you. If that doesn't work, they use the "fruit basket left at your door" trick. Just remember, don't talk to them, answer your door or return their call. Whatever you do, DON'T LET THEM ENTER YOUR HOME OR PROPERTY.

If you see them, call the police, especially if you have any elderly neighbors. Get their license plate# and take cell phone pictures. This company (Best, Paradigm or whatever) hires kids, then teaches them to LIE to customers. The kids fail to know that they won't get pai., Kirby keeps ALL the first weeks sales. Kid gets 1099 which means kid pays his own taxes, work comp, etc.

Horrible company. If you need a vacuum, just go the Target, Wal-Mart, etc and pay $40.00 or so instead of a $2000.00 Kirby and kids who may case your neighborhood.

Received a call from Paradigm Co. who claim to be offering free carpet or furniture cleaning with no obligation whatsoever and they work 7 days a week in one-hour blocks. They said they were demonstrating the cleaning product and I would have to pay nothing for the cleaning, but the product was available for sale if I chose to buy it.  Told when asked that my sofa and area rug get the most dirt and they agreed to clean them free of charge the next day, Sunday, bet. 3-4pm. Operator said that the number she called me from (858/558-8882) would be transferred to her boss's wife (858/558-8115) if I needed to call them back for anything.  I didn't give them my name or address yet,. so when I said I was checking them on the internet that moment and nothing came up, the operator told me to check under Kirby Vacuums, with whom they are affiliated.  Still nothing searching Kirby+Paradigm.  Finally search came up and I saw 800notes.com for another 858 number (558-8107) which listed various comments that this was a bait-and-switch to sell Kirby Vacuums.  I told the female operator I knew they were actually trying to sell Kirby vacuums, that I once had a Kirby and it weighed a ton.  I also said I like my present Hoover Whisper vacuum very much and am not interested in buying another, so please cancel the next day's appt..  Operator was polite and we concluded the call.

Haha its not a scam. All it is is kirby. If you undulge yourself in a free cleaning and take the time to listen and be educated on how to properly clean your home and having the right tools can help everyone have a clean home. You get the fruit basket if you let the kirby guys do the free cleaning. I called the number when I got the same flyer and it was fantastic. I didn't buy one but I feel like a dummy using any other vacuum to clean my home. It was a fun experiance. They blew up baloons for my son and even groomed my dog. Not sure how you can say that's a scam. Try it out and open your mind to a new experiance.

I've had them knock on my door 4 times now always saying the same thing that they're a carpet cleaning service and want to clean it for free today so long as I promise to refer them to a friend. This last time I asked them fora  business card and got the piece of paper saying "For you a beautiful basket of fruit Sorry We missed you" and then the 858-558-8115 phone number. I plan on reporting them to the non-emergency police today. But since I haven't actually been defrauded I don't know if anything will come of it.

I received a call and the caller hung up without speaking after I announced our company. I called back and they answered but said nothing.

You should let your police department know. These are usually crooks and scammers who don't have the necessary permits to do this. Their "visits" are often accompanied by follow on burglaries, since this is an opportunity to case the area. The sooner the police know about them, the better, get them out before they do any real damage.

You DO NOT want this SCUM in your NEIGHBORHOOD!

Had a note on the door that said, "For You a Beautiful Basket of Fruit Sorry We Missed You," with a phone number of 858-558-8115. Of course, we'd been home the whole time so I Googled it and wow, it's a carpet cleaning scam. We're in Fairmount Park, but it's apparently going around San Diego.
