Be aware of this company calling and offering "free" cleaning of your carpet and asking if you need someone to clean for you.  That they are in the area today and could come and clean quickly.

I got a call from this pest offering free carpet cleaning and addressing me by name.  When I told her I was on the do-not-call list and where did she get my name, she hung up.  I found all sorts of stuff about them including this excellent set of messages by googling.  The number that called me was 858-565-2194.

I strongly suggest that anyone bothered by these scums report them to both the national do not call registry and the FCC:

These jerks should be easy pickings for the feds because they are so blatant and list their phone number.  Last I heard, the fine is $11,000 for EACH PERSON CALLED who's on the do not call list.  

Problem is, a lot of unsolicited calls have a blank caller ID field.  That's illegal but what do you do about it?    I don't even know if there is a decent forum on which to discuss it.

This company is owned and operated by Louis Heiss. They sell Kirby vacuums door to door. They try to get in your house by offering a free carpet shampoo. This sales pitch will last about an hour and a half. They will initially offer you a price of around $1800, and will call their "boss" several times, and return with a lower price each time.  Don't fall for this high-pressure sales pitch. You can buy a vacuum for much less than $2000. Also, if you end up at a job interview involving this company, be prepared for a sales job selling vacuums. I know I worked for this company.

Stated she is with Best in Clairemont.  In business for 35 years - offering 2 free services (ie. will clean carpet in one room, a piece of furniture, etc.) as part of a new product introduction launch.
