Just got one of these little notes in Oceanside. It looked fake so I decided to look it up. Guess it was!

Louis C Heiss is a scum bag. Watch out if your a young lady working for this man. He will try and screw you...he did my x-wife. He's a con artist paying his people nothing unless they sell for him.

I suggest you chalk this up to tuition in the school of life.  Further contact with these clowns will only lead to further problems.  You might consider small claims court if you want compensation on the mattress.

I got the same green flyer about a week ago w/ the same phone # 619-794-7726. I called and set up an appt. and the lady on the phone said they'd be at my place for about showing my some new products that were new to my area. I live in Santee. So I was rather surprised when the two men brought me in a crappy little 5 piece fruit basket, way smaller than the flyer pic. I would have been so embarrassed to bring this fruit basket to a potential customer. I was promised a free carpet cleaning and was very surprised to see that the product was a Kirby vacuum. The man proceeded to show me how the vacuum worked and took such a long time. This is no exaguration, he was her from 5pm- 8:50 pm. I was so exhuasted and upset over how long this process took. While showing me a demostration, he did the dust mite test on my son's newer mattress. After he put the vacuum on the bed and kept rolling it over and over I started to notice the bed material freying. At first I didn't think anything of it, but i looked closer at the mattress after he left and noticed the wheels from the vacuum had freyed and ripped the mattress. You could even see tire tracks from the wheels of the vacuum where it was also damaged. Never let these people into your home!!!!! I have a # to call but it's the appt. # and probably won't get anywhere w/ help to replace the mattress.

I live in Carlsbad and received the same "fruit basket" flier.  They may have changed the phone number, but sounds like the same scam.  Watch out for 619.794.7726 as well!!!

I got the note left on the door.  And the very next day as I was coming home from work they were walking Scripps Ranch.  They stopped me.  Begged me to let them clean a room at no charge and they would be paid by their boss.  No uniform, no identification, no cleaning supplies.  I questioned them and they said that the other guy was across the street with the truck but they would go get it.  I said no and told them I was going to look them up and why doesn't the flyer have your boss' name and telephone number.  Then they came out with the green note about the fruit basket.  I told them straight that this was posted as a scam.  And they said it wasn't a scam that it was legitimate.  I told them no and they just went on to knock at my neighbor's door.  Scary!!!!  Watch out.  They are in Scripps Ranch.

Some time ago, I went to this place for a job. It's on Convoy Ct (x-str Clairemont Mesa Blvd). Kaiser Permanente bldgs are your landmark. The office is more like a dirty garage, overcrowded with unsuspecting job-seekers. I was professionally dressed and seem to spook the staff. They gave me a VERY unprofessional looking application. I had a VERY bad feeling and left without completing the appl.

I recently heard that they are always asking their homeowners and employees about their age/birthdays. Why? They don't want to appear as if they are targeting elderly women. On the local news some time ago, it was reported that some ex-Kirby/Louhott employees robbed, beat and kidnapped an elderly female homeowner. Drove her around in the trunk of her own car. Were apprehended. She lived to testify against them. I think they were found guilty.

A company named PCS Distribution left a pink "Notice" saying "there is a gift waiting for you" and to phone 858-565-6312, with a reference number and package number. Obvious scam.

I had a sticky note left on my front door stating that an attempt was made to deliver a fruit basket and to call with my reference number to arrange pickup.  The woman answering the phone told me that they were celebrating 35 years in business and were looking to open a new store in the Lakeside area and were giving fruit baskets to selected family's, she even said "Isn't that nice?".  She then went on to state something about shampooing one room of my home, in exchange for... and at that point, I hung up.

I got one on a yellow notice today in Point Loma

got home yesterday to the note on the door...i didn't call...checked on the web 1st...thought i had a gift...darn...i hope my poodle scares them away...shouldn't they be reported to the police if there are a rash of burglaries? I was told there were some burglaries in my neighborhood recently...the phone # is the same...it should be easy to trace this back to the person who has the phone #

I got the note on my house today and it screamed SCAM when I looked at it.  It only took a few minutes on the web to find the owner of the number, his home address, and his personal cell number.

I live in the Tierrasanta area. Note left on the front door indicating that there is a gift waiting for me. from PCS Distribution Center, San Diego, CA asking that I call 858-565-6312. I seem to remember this from about a year ago. At that time they said they had a fruit basket for us as a promotion for a new business.  I didn't call them this time.

....and in South Park today... except this is just a cheesy looking piece of paper that says "there is a gift waiting for you" I think Ill find their address and "re-deliver" this thing on their door.

Got the same note today, had to go through a closed gate to my back yard to get to the back door to leave the note. TRESPASSING! If they come back and I'm here, they'll be getting a piece of mind.

We live in Point Loma.  Twice now we have found the sticky note on our door.  First time they wanted to deliver a fruit basket.  Second time 2/3/10 they advised we had a gift package waiting, call 858-565-6312 with Ref. Code G61.  

We get calls for carpet cleaning, usually an automated phone message.  Wonder if this is the same group?

I have a PCS Distribution Center San Diego, CA yellow flier. Same thing, family home all day, but this was stuck to my door, which is marked No Solicitors.

I'm in Del Cerro and I got the same slip of paper on the screen door only with a different number - 619-928-7753... we have a No Soliciting sign by the bell so that's probably why they didn't ring it, but they shouldn't have even left this.

They were in Grantville today.  Guy put the notice on my front door and didn't ring the bell or knock.  Screams scam

They have changed their number to 619-928-7753 and I received a note 2 days ago in Scripps Ranch, I will make sure my neighbors are aware of the scam.

I got one today that says:

I didn't call it but was curious. If it was legit it would have a business name on it.

How the scam works:
The reference number is a database code. When you call the number on the form, the operator (phone-pool monkey) answers and asks you for the reference number, which he/she enters into their computer, which brings up information from the particular advertiser that is paying them to get them new customers.

The Phone Monkey tells you you are to receive a free [in my case] 'fruit basket' from a [fill in the blank service] to introduce their services to people in your neighborhood.

This scam is meant to circumvent laws related to the No-Call List. They get you to call them, instead.

While I sympathize with companies who have a harder time getting new customers, due to No-Call List Laws, and I sympathize with people who need a job so bad that they will take a job deceiving people all day on the phone, but I think they should choose work that has more integrity. I personally do not use the services of any company that employs deception to gain my trust.

Pink flyer on the door this AM. PCS Distributing company.. "free gift" offer, here in Spring Valley/Paradise Hills area. Phone number on this paper was 619-928-7753. TOSS IT, DO NOT CALL THEM!

Not even a green note, just plainly photo copied and horribly fake. Googled the # and got this site. So, Mira Mesa today. No knock, just this paper in front of our gate.
