I get this call at least once a day on my cell. The VM alarm went off after one of the calls but no message, just static, was left.

Recvd call at work location. Caller responded that his name was Charles Michaels. Said this (business) number was on his bill and he had no idea who it was.  Wanted to find out why he would have received the call because he did not recognize the number.  Our company name was verified to him when the call was answered.  He then pretended he wanted to know exactly what the company does. Once informed he had no further questions.

I called the number back because caller seemed so suspicious.  It was HSBC Auto Financing

Got a call from (858) 609-2000 on my cell.  Its HSBC auto financing trying to track down someone who used me as a reference.  When I asked what it was regarding he got very rude and said, get this, "it's none of my business".  I only knew who it was after I told the person they were calling about.

To stop these unwanted calls:  Get dial tone, hit *60 and
wait for instructions.  (*60  # type in the telephone number you don't want to call you, then hit # again.

I don't have a car loan.  Never heard of this company before
their name came up on my caller ID.

Called my home at approx. 7:15 PM on 12/31/09.  I understand that
the caller was from HSBC Auto Convoy.  I do not have a car loan and have not had a car loan in over a decade.
I have never had anything to do with this company.  
I am on the Do Not Call Registry.  The caller hangs up as soon as
my answering machine is about to pick up the call.  They do not
leave a message.

One of my old friends used my name on a job application 3 years ago. I havent seen or talked to him since. Now he cant pay his car loan and they call me 3 times a month and wont take my number off there list. Very annoying when your car is paid off.

I don't have a car loan with this number and if I did I would pay it off since they called  me at 3:30 AM. very rude.

called my cell, I didnt answer. waited for my voicemail alert. I heard shuffling papers but no message was left. my current car was paid for in cash and no loan was involved. i did have a repo back in 1995 or 96. I see by other posts that this is an auto finance company.

I have received 12 phone calls from this company (using the 2000, 2168, and 4458 numbers) in the past 24 hours. I spoke specifically with Mr. Maizer and told him I was not the person they were looking for and asked them not to call again (last Night) this morning I got another phone call and ignored it. I received calls from them last year as well. I do not do business with them and have not in the past. Unforunately I share the first name with the person they are trying to reach.

Received calls from this number three times this week. In the third call, I answered and the caller introduced as Raquel calling from "work out" company and admitted that she knew my number and my name. Never had I deal with this company before, if there is ever one. This is going beyond my privacy!

The # is from HSBC Auto. They are probably either calling you on your existing auto account or you have recently purchased a vehicle and they may be your finance company. You should answer this call or call them back. It is most likely not a solicitaion

HSBC has been calling my phone number since I got it two months ago, they are looking for the previous owner of my phone number attempting to collect his debts, They never leave a message, however they call at least once a week! I have told them three times they have the wrong number and was rather rude to them this morning when they called again. Anyone have any ideas on how to get the point across that they have the WRONG number. (I tried calling the number but of course you can't get through unless you have an account number, which I don't, and there is no option for "operator")

To AA on May 14, 2008, above post:  Ok, but what if you have NEVER had a car financed through them or have one now?  As a matter of fact - I HAVE NO AUTO financed through any company!  So why would they call me?
I am on do not call list too and they are being reported tonight. All I got on Caller ID is phone number and HSBC whatever...I don't answer calls from any one or anything I don't know anything about or know personally. They need to knock it off.

This number is for HSBC auto finance.  If they are calling you it is to collect a debt on past due car loan, or to ask questions about a car financed through them.

I got a call from this number three times at work.
I thougth cell phones were not accessible to telemarketers. That is the reason we got rid of our land lines.

i got one call from 858-609-2000(no message) on my cell at 7:00 p.m. last night and another one from 858-609-2168 4 days ago at about 8:00 p.m.

if there's a best way to pursue this, i'd like to know about it, b/c i plan to do something.

Called my cell at 10:05 am. Heard a lot of shuffling in the background, but no actual message. My # is on the do not call list as well, apparently it doesn't work.

Called my cell phone at 3:00pm, no message.  I'm on the DO NOT CALL list.  Caller ID just listed the phone #.  I did a revers lookup and found it to be a land line in San Diego.  I Googled the number and found a teh List of All Licensed Consumer Credit Companies.  this number was listed for HSBC Auto Credit Inc in San Diego.  company type is 367.
