I have caller ID and they can't see my phone number. Starting yesterday I played their game and started calling them four times a day. I have already called today and Jason answered. See how they like it.

I broke down several months ago and allowed a representative to come over and give me a "free" estimate. The guy that came over "Joshua Harty" was a nice enough guy, but the price for what they wanted to do it was ridiculous. After this about 4 months later, Im still getting calls. They say they want to send the owner Jason out to make me a good deal. I keep telling them no and they keep calling me. Several people calling me at all times of the day.

My son in law is a contractor and I spoke to him about it and he looked into it for me. Seems like the House Doctor is breaking major rules. This person Joshua Harty who came to my house doesnt exist. He holds no contractor license and is not a registered sales person with the california board of contractors. My son in law said that if we get enough people to complain we can get something done about this. He is obviously not paying any payroll taxes on these people. No wonder California is bankrupt, with companies like his stealing from the government. Hopefully we can use this message board to organize something against this rude intrusion into our lives. I will check here regularly.

I did what David Knowles above said, just now:
Call them at 1-866-374-2789 for free & hang up. See how they like getting charged for the calls.

I think some guy named Michael called.  I hung up the first time.  The second time I told him I would see how he liked being called at all hours of the day and night, over and over again. And that I was sick of it, other people were sick of it, and we are doing something about it.  Let's do this -- I'm sick of them and their pushy intrusions!!

I spoke to the California board of contractors today. She said that if the House Doctor sends anyone, but the owner Jason Harty, to your house to give an estimate, they will be in violation and can get fined or have their license suspended.

I realize having these people call you is very annoying, but the people calling you are just doing there job. It's not like they have some personal vendetta out against you or something. I completely understand your frustrations but they are just trying to pay there bills. Most of them are just out of high school or in college. You should be going after the owener, he's the one that told them how to do there job.

I just had a call from this number and a man said they were Hardy or RD House Painting. He said they were working on homes in my neighborhood and calling people in the area to see if they want their house painted.
I told him my number was unlisted and on the "do not call" list. I asked him where he got the number and he said they get them from lists of people who have bought homes recently. Well I have owned my home since 1992, so that was weird. He also calimed that businesses of a certain size are exempt from the do not call requirements and they have attorneys who assured them of this. I told him it was not true and to look it up himself.
Anyway, I asked him to remove my number from theri list, but I am researching them and will file a complaint if I can get enough information. I couldn't find them on the contractor's licensing board website, either.

These people do not take "no" for an answer. They called my wife twice saying they are offering a free home inspection. My wife told them we were not interested after the first call, but they called again saying they had a crew in the area on Saturday. My wife said "no" again. Today (Saturday) they called me and wanted to set up a time for the crew to come by.
I told them that we told them twice before that we were not interested and that they are in violation of Federal Law and the Government Do Not Call List. I told them that I would be reporting the violation and hung up.

He Tells his employees that they own their own business.  He pays them commission only, that is why they are so aggressive over the phone.  They advertise all over the reader online.  The turnover rate is really high.

He tells them they are responsible for their own taxes but can write of everything as they don't actually work from the call center he provides.

I wonder, if you tell these people that you RENT and are not the owner of the home/building, do they leave you alone??
I tried this once for another company...and was dropped like a hot-potato.

As far as joshua harty not existing i just sat in a meeting with him for three hours yesterday. His brother Jason harty is quite a skilled craftsman weather it be with metal wood or anything in between. These guys are pretty good at what they do. Give them a break. The economy is jacked and we all have to do a little extra to make money. Just because you havent the vision or the independence to create something of your own that you feel passionate about selling doesnt mean that you should try to harm those who do. Weather it be physically or through "legal" methods. Just remember that all actions you create are felt throughout the cosmos. If you do bad or create harm the energies will be returned in kind. If the Harty house doctor has truly done a terrible thing then why are they still able to be around in a time where all kinds of contracting firms are going belly up? As far as reporting them to some overbearing government office of freedom theft them remind yourself that when you decide to open a business in this land of opprotunity that you too will feel these same cold statements.

I had a bad experience "working" here.

They are commisssion only and do everything not to pay for their telemarketers labor.

I never used their services on a home but I wouildn't trust someonle who blatantly exploits people....

They had me call the same people over and over with no base pay.....

Terrible company to avoid at all costs!!!!

I worked as a telmarketer both the 9am to 1pm shift and the night shift 4pm to 8pm, and some times saturday from April 8th, 2009 to August 12th or so , 2010.  I was paid cash for verifiied apts.and one written check for a installed new window installation in a older home.

I did not like the idea that they had people working there like me that they would not pay his telemarketers on time.  Sometimes we had to wait a day or two.  from the promised pay date.  The telemarketers had to take the word of the Mangers Jacob Rohrbacher, and Mike Scherillo, of a actural demo in a home and or installation of Texcote or windows etc.The installs usaually avg about 15k to 20k dollars.  The idea that Mr. Jason Harty did not pay his telemarketers a guarentee wage and into the ssi system etc. was not cool, especially since he drove around in fancy Hummer, and a fancy Viper race car etc while some of his telemarketers where overly "promised" a higher income in compensation for their talented efforts on the phone.

The Hearty House Doctor did a wonderful job on my house and they were very professional. So what if they use the phone to offer free inspections. Business is tough these days. At least they actually provide good service. By the way, they were the lowest bid with an "A" rating with the BBB.

Received a call with the same promotion and same claims that Do Not Call does not apply to them.  Noticed on their web-site a toll free number of 866 Dr HArty (37 42789).  If all the people on this page would call them twice a day, the cost of their toll free number would drive them away.

The person who called me said she was calling from the "House Doctor" and asked me some questions about the exterior of my house such as how long ago was it last painted and if I have old aluminum window frames. She said she was calling everyone on my street to offer them a free inspection for maintenance issues.

This was an unsolicited call to my cell phone during business hours.

Be careful about giving personal information to these guys.

Caller ID'd herself as June from Hardy Construction, and asked to speak to my father by name about coming out to do the inspecton he requested. I told her my number was on the Do Not Call registry, and she replied that she was returning his call. When I informed her my father was deceased, she called me a bunch of names and hung up on me.

They just called me again the other day. It woke me up so I chewed the guy out about the do not call list and how I already told them to take me off their list. He just laughed at me and hung up. I wish now I had gone along with the sales pitch just to catch them at something. I filed a complaint at donotcall.gov and I'm researching other avenues.

It's an aggressive telemarketing operation for Hardy House Doctor in San Diego.   My caller ID history shows 9 calls from them (some answered, some not) over the past few weeks.   My number in on the various do-not-call lists.

If you return a call to that number, you can press 3 and they say "in accordance with state law, your number has been placed on our internal do not call list.   Allow 30 days for processing."    I guess they will continue calling every week through the end of summer even though asked not to. ;-)

Better yet, call *their* office number at (858)278-5605 and provide your detailed opinion of their business practice.

If you do engage companies list this, the process usually goes like this:
* they push to get someone to your door for a free estimate asap.
* the estimator comes to your house and agressively paints various color samples on the inside and outside of your house, chips off flaking stucco, etc. to "make a mess" that you need to get fixed.
* Estimates are much more expensive than standard market prices... they usually pray on elderly folks.   If you negotiate too much, they will move on to the suckers who will pay full price.

They called today, but did not leave a message.  They've called previously.  I work in the insurance industry and am very familiar with workers' compensation laws and the Contractor's State License Board.

You can report them to the CSLB.  Harty will probably claim that all of his employees are "independent contractors" however, unless each and every one of his "employees" hold a business license and a contractor's license, they are employees, not independent contractors.  I would also report them to the Department of Industrial Relations.  They will shut down his business and fine him every single day, and the fine is based on the number of employees he has.  The hard part is, the employees will be out on the job, and if he doesn't provide the job locations, it will be hard for the DIR investigator to locate.

Chances are he's paying them under the table and not reporting his payroll and taxes to EDD.
