Said they were from cox communications. The thing is I called back and said mailbox full , which means it's a personal not a business line. They had my last name but nothing else, so don't know of what they point of it was

These idiots call my cell every day while I'm at work. Will hear a quick beep and no answer then they hang up. Occasionally leaves a silent voicemail again with same beep. I have an 814 Area Code (Central PA) but I live in DC.

It's getting old.

I've been getting a call from this number at least once a week.  I have yet to answer any of the calls; I don't answer any number that I don't recognize , but I'd sure like to know who it is and what they want!

I got a call from this number 30 minutes ago. I said "hello" there was a beep and then a man with a heavy-sounding voice asked to speak to me (he mispronounced my first name). I asked why, he hung up. I have LifeLock and if need be, I will pay for the backtrace on his phone (landline in SD, California) and file a complaint with the SDPD. Someone needs to STOP THIS POTENTIAL THIEF!!!

My girlfriend received two or three calls from this number over the past couple days on her cell phone. This morning I answered:
"Hello, may I please speak to the man or woman of the house?"
"This isn't a house" (It's not, it's a cell. In the phone business, this matters)
"Is this (girlfriend's name)'s number?" (somethig like that)
"No"
"Sorry, I must have the wrong number"
My job is taking surveys over the phone, so I know how easy it is to stop calls without resorting to rudeness. Usually claiming to be a business # works btw.
Anyways, this may be a survey compamy that also does selling and is contracted by multiple.companies, and they mau get their info from "lists' at least in this case, instead of random digit dial. IF they ARE a survey company, DNC list doesn't apply, and it CAN take days to get added to their companies DNC list. Best bet is to make them think theyve got the wrong # (still in system but won't be called back-no point) or that they reached an ambulance emergency line or something - also wont be called back.

This is NOT Cox Cable.  I reported it to Cox as they are also my ISP.  They called the number s I was on the line, someone picked up then hung up.  Per Cox DO NOT give them any info as they are not affilliatedwith Cox

Well here it is now, the year 2013 and I recently started getting calls from this number.  I live in Tucson and do not nor have I ever had services through Cox.  Pretty interesting.  I never answer and they have never left a voice mail.  I am simply going to block the number, I'm sure it's some sort of scam.

Never give out personal information on a call you did not make. Get a callback number, then look it up. If you have to, call the companies main number & be redirected. Caller ID can say anything. Just read some of the posts on 800 notes.

I received a call.  they wanted to upgrade.  i told them im moving.   they took my new address info.  and set up an installation date and time.  
he had to call me back.  maybe a little unusual.  and he almost said from some other company instead of cox.  suspicious.
i hope it's not a hoax.

Calling me twice a day within an hour apart.  I'm in AZ.  I added this to my reject list on my cell phone.

they keep calling me...I have internet and phone service with them...I wonder if I got rid of phone service from cox....they'll stop calling! LOL!!!

they keep calling me everyday for a week! caller ID says cox...if they keep calling me Im going to get rid of cox internet and phone service!

I've been getting these recently too between 2 and 4 times a day always at exactly the same times each day.

even when i pick up, no one answers. calling back i got the same recorded message other people have mentioned, it's a telemarketer that claims to sell products for Cox Communications. I left a voicemail telling them to stop calling, and used my Verizon call & message blocking settings to block the number. hopefully that'll be the last of it from these guys!

Its Cox Communications. They just called asking for my ex-roommate who happened to use my number for the cable bill.

There is a woman on the end of the line when I answer.  She says this is a courtesy call from Cox Communications (our local cable provider in Ks).  But it sounded as if she was flying down the highway in a wind storm... not in a professional setting.  Then she tried telling me things that were obvious like which state I am in...duh.. the area code prefix of my telephone #.  She was just stating obvious things to gain my trust and appear as if she knows what she is doing.  Then she began asking personal questions.  So I hung up.

This # calls starts quoting "FBI says
blah blah blah." I hang up. It is a
recorded message.

They setup an appointment with me they say their was with Cox ,they had my SSN &acct# they knew everything about me. They took money from my acct.too! It is very very wrong &misleading

They have called me 5 times in the last 12 hrs and it would make no sence that a news company from cali is calling a teen in southwest. Va

Several hang-up calls each day.  Caller listed on CID as Cox.

This number calls me at least 3-5 times a day and I too am a Cox customer.  They don't leave a message and they have been calling me for the past 3 weeks.  I've never picked up and hope they go away.

Yup, I live in VA, have cox, and even have an out of state number on my cell and I just got this number calling repeatedly. I do not have phone with cox, so they have this cell number for their records, they must have sent them out to this hang-up sand diego company. SCUMBAGS

Call and hangup treatment, trying to sell me on more cox services I don't want in the middle of my sleep time!

Received a call from this number today but no one on the line when I answer.      I am in Virginia and I am a Cox customer

Got a few calls the past 2 days. Answered today and talked to a man who said it was Cox Communications and asked me how my day was going. I immediately said I'd like to be removed from this call list and he proceeded quickly to say Cox Communications takes their promotions communications seriously and that he would submit my number immediately to be removed from the list. He verified my phone number and said it could take up to 30 days to process the Do Not Call request and that meanwhile I may receive phone calls.

Call is from Cox Communications Sales Dept.  After receiving calls for weeks they were finally on the  line.  Probably using a dialer putting through too many calls at one time for agent to answer.

Got a call from this # last week and again today. No message left last week and when I tried to call back it just said that the mailbox was full. Today I answered and immediately the line hung up.

Four months later and I'm still getting calls from these people and .. every - single - time .. they say nothing and then hang up.  

I found an interesting website that I reported it to; I have no idea if this website is legit or if it will amount to anything actually happening to prevent future annoyances like this but I reported it anyway.
