These people call twice/day.  Don't know who they are and they never leave a message.  They need to stop.

These people call once a day leaving no message. I had my friend answer the phone and they had information that bothers me, who are they.

They have called me three times in 2 days. No message. Go away.

I believe it is a company that sells the phone numbers for people who pick up.

There is the ability for a computer to dial and listen for a 'hello', tell the difference between voice mail, record the time of day that you picked up, attach a note about the type of neighbourhood you live in... Then it sells the list to companies who actually want to call you. That company has a general idea about the kind of consumer you may be, and calls you themselves. Some companies may own their own version of the service.

Not to make you all paranoid, but don't bother answering that call. Or maybe yell into the phone and make them think it's a fax.... heh heh.

Finally got to talk to somebody when they called.  It was from our local newspaper; we had recently renewed our subscription.  They were calling to verify that we were receiving the paper as requested.  They asked some more questions about whether I was a new customer / old customer, and asked if I wanted to take care of payment (which was odd, considering I had already paid at the time that I renewed).

I guess this is a "clearning house" for various publications.

Got a call this morning; it immediately hung up.  I also had signed up for a newspaper from a kid wanting to go to college.  I called them back to get my phone number removed...

I also signed up for a local paper for about 10$. They are calling to confirm you ordered the paper to prevent kids from signing up people who did not want the service / paper.

Just call the number back and it will request you to enter your phone number which you want to remove from their database. After entering your phone number it will ask you to verify the phone number you entered by pressing 1.

The message will inform you that the phone number will be removed within 2 business days. I just tried it. If it does not work I will post another note here.

I signed up for a local newspaper from a kid saying it was for a college scholarship.  We were going to get the paper anyway and thought why not help him out?  Ever since I started receiving the paper I have been getting these missed calls with no voicemail!  Nice!!!

I recently bought a newspaper from a kid saying he received money from college too, and now I am getting these calls.  I don't know that its a scam, as I did in fact start receiving the newspaper, and it was a good deal, but I'm guessing it is just from whatever company sponsers the program.  ANNOYING!

i get calls from 8599662501 on my cell phone... i noticed one of you said it was from a newspaper, i just recently bought a subscription from a kid who said he wins a 1000 dollar savings bond if he gets enough subscriptions to a newspaper so i did it, gave him my address and phone number.. i bet it was a scam because i dont give out numbers for any services or people i don't know

same story...keeps calling, won't leave message.  I don't answer unless I recognize the number, so I guess they'll never be talking to me!

I have been receiving calls for 2 weeks...never answered...no messages left.  I called the number today and got an automated message.  It gave me the option of entering my number to remove it from their call list.  It said it should be removed within 2 business days...

I answered call from this # they asked if my mommy or daddy was home. i'm pushing 30 years old and have kids of my own. i then asked them what they wanted and they refused to identify themselves or even who they were calling on behalf of. i told this woman to "f off" and she proceedded to lecture me on use of obscenities on the phone. i informed her that if she doesn't like it - don't call. i then asked to speak to her boss. this is when she hung up on me.

How do we get these calls to stop. We get at least 10 a week. Any suggestions? mcasey4@hotmail.com

I have gotten several calls from this number now. I just called back and got the automated answerer. I entered my number to remove it from the list. We'll see...

I got a call from this number on Wednesday April 23rd and no one left a voicemail. I called the number back and it rang several times with no answer. They called again today but my phone only rang one time and they hung up.

This number has called me 6 times in the past 2 days. I looked the area code up and I found that it's located in Connecticut somewhere. I live on the West Coast so I don't want long distance charges.

Got a call from 859-966-2501 at 1955 hrs April 23, no one answered and then hung up.

Got several calls the same "customer service". They offer to take your number off the call list, but when asked to give your number they say it is not recognized.... Bloody a....and so forth
