YES... I.e.: if you are on the national DNC registry, and an automated telemarketer keeps calling you, the best thing to do is have the state att'y general mail them a letter, and eventually this will actually scare them enough to stop calling.

telemarketers call my cell phone everyday.  i'm from new york, and this was from hartford!  didn't answer b/c i didn't recognize the number but when i typed it into google, this came up:

continue to call- I have asked again and again to be removed from the list...they as 'why don't you realize this is for your own safety...' they ask to speak with the person in charge in my home, playing the 'little lady' card- that my husband (who is in NO way mechanically inclined!) would understand the importance of this vehicle warranty.  He heard my son in the background cry and said- see your child wants you to get this warranty.  I asked to speak to his superior because he would not listen to me. His reply- 'My superior', no one is uperior over me!  Who do you want to speak to Kris Kringle, Ghandi, Osama....this went on- with me continuing to say- remove me from the 'f' ing list! Then he said- I am not doing anything until you say please....I was not going to say please ! So 15 minutes later- he hung up.

the number is listed as belonging to a private residence in CT, I looked up the actual name and got another number- I called them- I want to see if the number is related or if these people have any idea that someone is using their name as a scam... I am from Texas

Got a call from them at around 11:42 this morning, just hung up on them because it was becoming apparent that Verizon is allowing telemarketers onto the cell phone service these days.

hey we can all send him hate mail since we have his address. they keep calling me about a warranty too for everyone and also on my cell phone. if i block them on my cell phone who know i might have a pay for them to be blocked.

missed call on cell phone, was this number, glad I googled it.  I have a leased car and it always under warranty so this isn't applicable to me.  No message and when call back, says line is disconnected- if you can even get through, usually you get silence

I have verizon as well.  How do you block certain phone numbers?

I'm receiving prerecorded calls on my cell, work and home numbers.  Caller ID indicated an unknown caller at 860-216-2292.  No company identification and immediately launched into its car warranty spiel. I called back and either get a busy signal or put on hold.

I keep getting these calls on my cell.  I usually don't answer, but sometimes I do, and it is always the Warantee expiring scam.

I have been getting this automatic phone call on my cell about the warranty expiring, previously I automatically picked up my calls since I use my cell rarely and it is for my family members. This time I remembered to look and did not recognize the number so I stopped the call.  I wondered where the area code was and put in the number and found this website, so I am not the only one getting these calls.

Just got the call.  I don't answer calls from numbers and area codes I don't recognize.  Too many times its been these a***oles.  I must be on someone's list, because I've also been getting calls from 319 and 484 area codes as well.  There ought to be a law!

Fifth, maybe sixth call to my cell phone from this number.  B*****ds don't take a hint.

called them back, was put on hold for a while, then finally reached a live person... and proceeded to yell at him.  he promptly hung up when i said, "I DON'T EVEN HAVE A CAR! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU CALLING ME ABOUT! STOP CALLING!"

Got the call from this number and the return call says this number has been disconnected , please check the number you are dialing in.

this dip stick number called me to??? WTF is right??? How did they get my cell and I haven't bought a new car for 5 years. I didn't pick up the phone because I got a call (617-479-1174) at the end of June and it was some carpet cleaner service??? I tried the number back and it said it was disconnected??? Dam teller marketers!!! this is such a scam world we live in now!!!!

I got a call approximately 5 minutes ago from this number.
When I googled the number, I ended up here.  Obviously they are creeps running rampant.  I don't answer any phone calls unless I recognize the number.  No message was left.

I get several of these calls a week on my cell. I am sick of it! I have let it go to VM and the recording will leave a message, I have also tried to talk to a 'representative' but was kept on hold. I wish I knew what to do. They call me house number and my son's cell phone too.

I actually got through to a representative who was completely silent and did not know what to say. Meanwhile I was searching that phone number in Google and got this page. I told them they were a scam and hung up. I don't know how they know I purchased a vehicle recently, it must be dumb luck since other posters here say they don't own a car.

I got a call a few mins before, asked me to press 1 to speak to a rep.. got disconnected immediately. A friend of mine got a same call. He suspected it to be a scam call.

This "extended warranties" business has been calling us for two months...at home, on our cell phones, and at the office.  They have considerable knowledge of the type of our vehicle, the extended warranty that my husband has purchased, etc., which leads me to believe that General Motors has given them this information.  Their computer-generated calls  will not stop.  I am unsuccessful at trying to call them at this number.
