they did not say anything when they called because i never talk first!

PEOPLE, This is your everyday phishing trip they aren't trying to sell you a new electric service they are trying to get as much information as they can to sell to the highest bidder

When I told them I was not interested the kept calling back even after 8 PM.  This is harassment.  Called the # and waited over 3 minutes and hung up.  Tried to call this morning and get a recording that it is not a valid extension.  Isn't ther something that can be done?

received call from 860-256-6857; no one acknowledged my 'hello'  Apparently it's same outfit that has called me in the past. When they say "May I speak to the person in charge of the Electric bill?" I tell them "No, you may not." and I hang up. Hope they leave me alone now.

I am so sick of this electric garbage; its harrassment pure and simple.  Remember the long distance thing back in the 90's of who you could pick and choose from - here's its sister.  

Leave me alone, I'm not switching again - Con Ed has the lowest rates and they are LOCKED.

I am getting the same calls. My caller ID says it's coming from Hartford, CT. What do we have to do to get them to stop calling us? They call at all times of the day.

REpeated calls from this number.  No one speaks and then they hang up

I have received 1 ph call yesterday, 2/23/12, today 2 calls - 1 this morning and one @2:53pm.
No one is ever on the line.
We hang up.
It needs to stop.

STOP CALLING!!!!!! If I wanted to change electric companies I would do it myself, 3rd time today!!

the first call, they said "may i speak to the person whos name is on the electric bill"..right away i respond, if your the company shouldnt you know the name? then i said lemme guess, your going to save me a bunch of money right? i just have to give you my bank info or ss and all that good stuff? the guy was dumb enough to say correct, "please continue with your account numbers". i continued to ask if people actually fall for this scam and he hung up. they call back at least once a day, even AFTER i tell them they will NEVER get ANY info from me. couldnt be a group of more dumb lowlifes. i will continue to mess with them, until they figure out theyre not scamming my mom =) maybe next time im thinking i will pretend i dont know what electricity is?? or that im batman and i generate my own electricity through my fingers? hm... going to have fun with these losers.

Got FOUR CALLS FROM THEM TODAY!!! I am getting very very annoyed.

Rec'd a call from this number at 4:07 pm. This is the second time they have called today.  (love caller ID).
Called back immediately and waited for about 5 minutes, when my turn came up, there was no one on the line and then the call was disconnected.

They're calling us too but we screen w/the answering machine so they never say anything. Thanks to the folks who take the time to post about these scams. It's very helpful.

yep, same here. they called yesterday and today. their phone number appears, but there is silence for a number of seconds, then someone says "thank you for returning our call".  as soon as the guy started with "electric company bill" I hung up. in my case scam requires either that you stay on the line, with no clue who is calling, or call back, as I did, and demand to know "who are you".  guy said something like "dynamic power" or who knows.

Answered the phone and no one would respond.  I will beware of this number now thanks for posting! CALLER ID CAME UP UNKNOWN WITH THE TELEPHONE NUMBER.

Same thing here with me.  I heard of this scam where they end up asking for your account # and ss number.  I led her along (love to do this with telemarketers and scammers) and then told her I knew it was a scam and hung up.  They called right back but I didn't answer.  As soon as I heard her ask to speak with the person who pays the electric bill in my house I knew what was going on.  My electric company would never make a phone call like this to its customers.

They asked to speak to the person in charge of our electric bill.  
When I said, "May I ask who is calling?" they hung up.
I called back, waited 7 minutes to get an operator, then asked to be removed from their call list.

Here we go again! We got a rash of these calls maybe 6 months ago, then they stopped. There must be a new phone solicitation list out. When we answer the phone, nothing! Got two calls today.

860-256-6857 calling claiming to be your electric company and saying the electric rates are going down.  Then they try to get you to give them your electric company account number from your electric bill so they can give you the new lower amount.  The caller ID just says "out of area" (we're in a different area code), but they do claim to be the electric company you are using and want your account number from your electric bill.
