received call 4/30/2013 at about 12:30pm on my cell phone,  Call from 860-840-7438, i did not pick up as i was driving-left voice-message regarding some security system thing and something about local police. Field complaint with FCC also.

Transcript:
"...home break in every 15 seconds. Your local police recommend you protect your home. If you will allow us to place a small sign in your yard, we will install a new security system at absolutely no cost to you whatsoever. There is no cost for the system or the installation whatsoever. To hear more, press 1 now. To be placed on our do not call list, press 9."

Apparently this site post all replies to the end of the thread and not to the post you clicked reply in. Will keep that in mind next time.

They "GLEANED" it from a computer program!!!!!!

They are scammers!! They work outside the law and don't give a damn about do not call lists. The don't give a damn about the FCC, FTC, DOA, DOD, DEA, DOT, FBI, CIA or any other government agency you can think of.

Man, look some things up before you spread false assumptions!

they don't "get" your number from anywhere. they have computers that autodial the numbers and it just goes in sequence.

Glad I saw these responses regarding this #. Telemarketing calls hinder people from the calls that could be important.

I just verified my mobile phone number so I could log into my google account and a couple hours later received this telemarketing call.  I certainly hope google isn't selling my information.

Call on cell phone around 7 p.m. Did not answer.No message.

They take an area code and a prefix... for example, area code 771, and prefix 555, so you have 777-555-xxxx.

Now they start dialing and when they get to the x, the first time they dial 0000, then 0001, then 0002 and on and on until they get to 9999, then they move on. At least some of them operate this way, I do not know if they all do or not.

I got a call from this number. I got another call from a blocked number shortly after. The blocked number left a voicemail about my bankruptcy request. I never requested a bankruptcy.
Anastacya - you're not too bright. Webcrawlers will already package up the numbers found of the web for cold call sales.

Left no message. They never leave a message. This is like the 3rd time in the last 6 months. Understand these guys are scammers. Disregard.

Just got a call from these people.  I did not even bother to pick up and I suggest that you don't either.

It is a robo call from a telemarketer.  These callers don't necessarily need to get your number from someone else.  It is all set up in a computer system.  Is your phone number listed with the National Do Not Call Registry?  If not, register your phone number(s).  It takes about 31 days for it to be effective.  If you receive this particular type of call then you can place a formal complaint with the National Do Not Call Registry. Of course that doesn't necessarily mean that anything will be done because they get so many complaints.  If you receive this call repeatedly then contact you states' attorney general.

I called back through Gmail. The recording said it was telemarketing and gave a way to opt out. I don't know who it was tho.

Even though I just found this site, I got a call from this number back on April 11th

Google this people: "Anyone else getting calls from a R2J2 company? 412-430-5524" and read the comments....maybe that will explain what is going on.

Have a missed call from this number from 4:42pm CDT. Did not answer; not sure who it is. They called my cell and did not leave a voicemail. My cell number has been active for almost two years, so it is entirely possible that it was gleaned from a demographics list sold to telemarketers from a company with whom I have a business relationship. Either way I am not calling back and will be filing a complaint with the FTC.

I am going to start listing the 800 numbers for my credit card, bank, and other companies on every mailing list that I can find. If it is legal for them to sell my information to a marketing firm, then it is perfectly legal for me to give theirs. After all, one good turn deserves another, am I right?

Its a Voip line from Hartford. And yes, they are b*****ds. Some home security scam. Maybe something more threatening. Company will not identify itself. I've gotten a few of these calls. After the first time I've never called back.
