I got a message on my voicemail from this number today at 10:20 am CDT that was identical to the one that Cindy C (above) received.  Did a little Google searching and found that this particular scam has been going on for at least a year or two, from different numbers, with slightly different messages but always from someone claiming to be "John Carmen."  This guy's voice sounded really bored so he must make these calls all day long with very little response.  But he must reel in a few victims or it wouldn't be worth his time to keep doing it.  Of course, there probably are a number of different people doing the same thing and using the same name, since I doubt "John" would be dumb enough to use his real name.

Got a message on my answering machine, time: 2:12p.m. on Monday, April 21, 2014. Man stated he was the prize department here in Greenville and it was re: an entry form I had entered in a Cash Give Away in the past year, year and a half. He stated his name was John Carman and that he was the prize coordinator and that my name had  been drawn last night. I could call him at 1-888-774-2004 or the local number 843-485-0302. He needed to hear from me before 10:00 p.m. tonight.

SCAM ALERT!!!!!----This is part of a "cool cash giveaway" where they claim you have won money and your name was drawn last night. Caller said his name was John Carmen and that my name was drawn last night, and that I'd have to call back by 10pm.  He called a few minutes before 9pm.  The number on caller ID was a local area code call, but he said to call him back at (888) 774-2004.  

Scam of some kind or a "skip trace" company working for "junk debt buyer" collections company trying to verify your information so they can sell it off to collection companies to hunt you.
Scam ether way...Don't answer or call back!
